Why Delta Pi Rho? I’ve been at Purdue for a whole semester now and I’ve really enjoyed my time here and moments that have particularly stood out to me are when I was with the brothers of Delta Pi Rho. I’ve met everyone I know from MAES but I’ve been trying to hang out with them outside of MAES. The people in Delta Pi Rho seem motivated to be successful and push each other to be successful, but they also know when and how to have a good time. I have always had trouble balancing work with play an I think this would be a good way for me to learn how to manage my time and myself better. Delta Pi Rho will also give me more opportunities to learn what I could be doing better. There are a lot of guys who I can trust to talk about any troubles that
Working in a competitive and friendly environment has always motivated me to take up new challenges and as a result I have decided to rush Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity that focuses also on social connections. From my previous work experience at Ampex Restaurant Management I learned how to build and sustain relationships with my coworkers and customers. This experience provided e with an opportunity
One of the main reasons I was initially interested in Delta Sigma Pi was the professional aspect of it and how it focused on skill development and cultivating a better future. Although I have come to find over the past semester and a half that there is so much more to the fraternity than just that, business professionalism is still the fundamental cornerstone of this organization.
After researching the purpose Delta Sigma Pi, I was very interested in being a part of a family that shares a mutual desire of what I want out of not only my time here at Northeastern, but out of life in general. After seeing that this fraternity looks for, “those that are self-motivated, dedicated, hardworking, and willing to go the extra mile for those in need,” I was immediately convinced that these are the type of people I would like to surround myself around. I believe that I would be able to contribute to the fraternity in a way that is being pursued and would really love the opportunity to do so.
I would love this opportunity to be involved with Phi Theta Kappa This will be an excellent way for me to meet other Phi Theta Kappa members. I can get to know more people in similar situations to my own, I can learn from them, and maybe they can learn from me. As a college student I feel that it is my responsibility to do everything that I can to make the most of all learning experiences, so I can not in good conscience let this chance slip by.
Through Engineering World Health, I can utilize my passion for biomedical engineering to build medical devices for hospitals in developing countries. By joining Hopkins Robotics Club, which is similar to the robotics team I am currently co-captain of, I can help bring schematics of different robotic mechanisms to life. Besides engineering-based organizations, I also hope to participate in the Hopkins Feminists organization, where I can continue to help promote gender equality and combat sexism in our society. Additionally, I’m interested in the Chinese Student Association, which provides a supportive cultural environment and brings awareness and understanding of Chinese culture throughout the university, similar to the Asian Affinity Club that I am co-president of. Lastly, I will be able to pursue my interests in choir and theatre through the university’s Choral Society and 7 theatre
Outreach continued to be a major part of my life during my undergraduate years. As a freshman, I joined the RPI Zeta Eta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Women’s Fraternity. Being a part of Alpha Gamma Delta gave me the opportunity to serve the community and raise money for our philanthropy, which supports diabetes education and awareness. Throughout the school year, we participate in several philanthropy and outreach events including Volunteering at the Boys and Girls club. During this event we set up some fun interactive activities with the purpose of educating the children about diabetes. In addition to joining Alpha Gamma Delta, I also began to set up study groups with several of my friends because I was grasping my course material quicker than many. Prior to our quizzes and exams, a small group of us would meet in a study room and I would go over practice problems on a whiteboard. Not only did this help me better prepare for quizzes and exams, but it was rewarding see my peers succeed. I decided to serve as a tutor in several of my
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in different professional societies such as the National Society of High School Scholars, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honors society), and Business Professionals of America. My involvement in these societies has made me knowledgeable in the logistics of how to run the society, and have taught me valuable skills such as leadership and collaboration. For logistics, I can help organize events such as fundraising activities or philanthropic events as I am currently on the social committee for Business Professionals of America, which is in charge of organizing social events for my chapter. As an elected member for the social committee, my chapter has shown faith in me for my leadership skills and collaboration skills. Overall, I feel like I can contribute a lot of my skills and knowledge to UIC honors college.
Never in a million years did I plan on joining Greek life in college. When I got to school I quickly decided that I wanted to be more involved and help make a difference in people’s lives. I decided to rush a sorority which happened to be Delta Gamma. Delta Gamma has provided me with so many wonderful opportunities to make a difference. When the Whited family reached out to our chapter here at IUP I knew this would be something I would remember doing for years to come. The Whited family came to one of our chapter meetings and we got to meet little Lochlan who touched all of our hearts. I have had so many wonderful opportunities from this organization already and have received such great experience by joining
Phi sigma sigma began when their founders went to the Dean of Women at Hunter College in New York City with a plan. They wanted to begin a sorority that would be open to all women. On November 26, 1913 Phi Sigma Sigma started. It was the first nonsectarian sorority, began under Fay Chertkoff. Their Alpha Chapter was at Hunter College.
Miss Ruiz de Castilla has been a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority since the beginning of fall 2015 and is currently in History Club and Turning Point.
Students are sitting in McCormick 220 bored, hot, and uncomfortable. They turn and look at the clock already ready to leave and realize class has not even started yet. How could this happen when lecture has not yet begun? Maybe it has been a long day, or maybe it is just how unwelcoming McCormick 220 is. When it comes to writing many people are influenced by their surroundings. If McCormick 220 can leave someone feeling bored and uncomfortable so quickly then it is definitely not an appropriate classroom for a writing class.
Sydney Isaac is in the spring 2015 Alpha Omicron class of Phi Sigma Pi. Her big is Stanley Edwards, who is in the Alpha Xi class of Phi Sigma Pi, and her little is Aungelique Hanna who is in the Alpha Rho class of Phi Sigma Pi. Sydney was born on September 11th, 1995. She was born and grew up in Augusta Georgia where she attended and graduated from Augusta Prep. Sydney is the oldest of two brothers ages nineteen and thirteen and one sister who is ten years old. In her family Sydney admires her Father the mot because he has every characteristic she hopes to find in a husband, he is her best friend and she is able to tell him everything. Sydney is most inspired by her sister because although she has cerebral palsy she does not let it define who
My first observation took place in on the second floor of Diggs. The group, I observed is called Pi Kappa Phi, a Greek organization here on campus. I observed and listened to this group twice, while they were sitting on the couch, which is directly to your left when you walk in the doors that are across from the west center. Both observation took place during common time on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, I observed how the members of the fraternity greeted one another.
As you move up the vaping ladder, it becomes more than just an alternative to tobacco smoking; it becomes an art where getting optimal flavor and vapor off your e-juice is essential. That is when the urge to constantly upgrade your vaping device kicks in. For most vapers, upgrading to a good Rebuildable Tank Atomizer is the ultimatum. If you are in this stage of vaping, I would vouch for Azeroth RTA, from CoilArt, at Vape Happy. Here are a few features that makes this RTA a must have.
I am currently a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society, an international psychology honor society, and recently joined FIU’s chapter of the co-ed premedical fraternity, Phi Delta Epsilon. These organizations allow me to participate in events and activities geared towards academic excellence and community service in science, values that I believe are fundamental not only to a career in medicine but to being a great student here at FIU. I was also given the opportunity to become involved with Peer-Led Team Learning, a program that works closely with the Biology department, where I served as a leader for several semesters and intend to continue to do so when my course load allows for it once again. In addition, I volunteer as a research assistant for the Child Narratives Lab in FIU’s Psychology department gaining hands-on experience with conducting studies and interacting with children in a research setting. Finally, I am a work-study in the Financial Aid department. As it stands, I am deeply involved with many different aspects of FIU and I only hope to do more in the future. My fraternity has offered opportunities for leadership that I hope to take advantage of such as positions in Student Government. I also have plans to apply for a role on the Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution’s Student Conduct Committee to be more active in the campus
