My creator. My abettor. My sidekick. My teacher. My defender. My superstar. These are all the things that my sire wholeheartedly is. From keeping me safe to play childish games, he is always there to guide me. Although his overloaded job keeps him at station for an eternity, he quickly maneuvers through the overwhelming pile of work, and somehow still finds time to help me study for a test, help me finish my homework, and play games with me. When a monstrous test is charging at me with all of its might, he uses his brilliant mind to swiftly teach me how to defeat the test with a triumphant score. Then comes the period of activity, the hardest part of his day, the part where he almost always quits and leaves: the workout. With a determination to become physically fit, he bolts up the rigid stairs, charging into his closet to get dressed into his navy baggy sweatpants and his neon yellow t-shirt; then races down to the basement like it’s the end of the world. The Xbox sits idle while the fitness game eagerly waits to be played. He fires up the Xbox and starts on his 1-hour journey to absolutely destroy the computer in tennis. Following his crushing victory over the weak computer in tennis, I wandered to the basement in hopes of escaping my dreadful homework, only to be absolutely flabbergasted by the number of experience points he has gained on the game. Then comes the part where my ponderous dad sluggishly lumbers up the stern stairs. Suddenly his stomach rumbles and
I am a mother and wife to 3 beautiful children and husband and I felt like I was starting over every 2 years. I wanted to be a dance teacher. Well, I did that and I would probably still be doing it if I didn’t have a mortgage and 3 kids. Then I wanted to be hairstylist. Let’s just say that didn’t go as planned. $50,000 of debt in student loans later, and I have decided I want to become a teacher. The crazy thing is that I’m 31 years old but 10 years old in my heart.
Every day those four children would do something to disturb me. Sometimes they would stand in my way as a group and
Trying to determine my favorite teacher over the past sixteen years of my life, I went through every grade of school searching for the best academic teacher I had. I loved some of my math teachers and some who taught English, but I could not find the one teacher that stood out above the rest. However, similarly to how most writers find their inspiration, when I was having a random conversation with my family one day, I found myself rambling on and on about how fantastic a certain teacher was. I had not even thought about her as an option for my favorite teacher, but after talking about her for about fifteen minutes straight I reconsidered my choices. Elective courses, classes besides the four core subjects, are usually not taken as
Have you ever wanted that certain someone to make a profound impact on your life that you will never forget. A teacher that was willing to go above and beyond to show that they weren’t there to just get paid that they truly cared, An enforcer not just someone to give the work but sit there and make sure it get done in class, Janis Butler is indeed a teacher who impacted my life in high school. She was a certified teacher beside me helping when work was easy, and she also helped when work was hard. Many teachers teach since they have different certification and degrees or because they just want a paycheck. On the other hand, some teach merely out of love and dedication for they have for children. Many kids struggle every year because a teacher cannot reach them in a certain subject, the number of kids that are retained for that reason is plentiful. Schools need to put more restrictions on hiring teachers with a certain number of years before you can be hired to teach a certain grade. A caring teacher named Janis Butler made a huge impact on my life. A teacher who was a nurse, tutor, referee, and a mom away from home. Mrs. Janis was the one who put students first and took care of everything else later.
The only thing constantly in my head over the duration of my deployment was my wife. I may have been fighting for my country, but she’s the only reason why my mind still orders my muscles to strain themselves. Every time I slept, it was like she was actually with me and I could feel her soft touch that was more soothing than the ocean breeze on a ninety degree day back in Oregon. Well, at least when I was mentally able to sleep, which only came about three nights a week. Unlike a large number of the men on base, I hadn’t broken down yet. Not physically, not mentally. What I didn’t know, was that next time I woke up from a dream with my wife, and the next time I jumped up into the cockpit to fly an aircraft, would be the last time I was capable
As first-generation Americans, my parents did not speak English well. Thus, they hired tutors and enrolled my sisters and me in programs to provide us the best education possible. Outside of school, my sisters and I attended Kumon and Brain Child to get a head start. On top of that, my parents required me to attend Sylvan because my progress was slower than my siblings. Once these after school programs expenses became too much to bear, my parents pulled us out. However, we still needed a tutor to help us comprehend school concepts.
Growing up I really enjoyed writing and telling stories because it was something that I felt was a huge accomplishment. I came to the united states when I was four not knowing one word of english. Things changed when my first grade teacher noticed the effects that my linguistic incapability had on my schoolwork and on my self-esteem. This prompted him to invest time in understanding what hindered my ability to master the English language and ways to help me improve. After understanding my personal situation, Mr. Kyle took it upon himself to stay every day after school and provide me with the necessary assistance to refine these skills.
Once upon a time there was a boy named Billy, Billy found enjoyment in playing video games, where he could forget about reality and be absorbed in a whole new realm where he was known one of the best players on the whole planet. Billy was immersed in his games and would rarely do anything that wasn’t playing video games he would skip meals, skip showers, even skip sleeping just to play his games.
Active video games are also being marketed for adults. New Gaming companies have been turning their gaming systems into exercise machines (Recio 143). This new game keeps the player fit while watching television. One machine will incorporate a favorite show into an aerobic workout by broadcasting the selected show loud and clear during the exercise. Once the person starts to decrease their effort the volume will drop, and if they continue to decrease, the television will shut off leaving nothing to watch. This creates a good workout environment involving exercises and entertainment into a strict exercise agenda. Workout levels can range from heavy lifting or swimming (Recio 143). These workout levels are increasing stamina causing weight loss and health awareness. The new video machines can drastically change an adults workout routine.
The relationship between my cooperating teacher (CT) and her ELL Kindergarten student from China (ML) appears to be a good one. I have only had the opportunity to observe their interactions for a total of two school days so far, but I do whole heartedly believe that she has her student’s best interest in mind, and that she will continue to employ proven ELL instruction methods for him and her other ELL students. My CT greets each student as he/she enters the classroom in the morning and this includes ML. Both times I have been in the classroom I have noticed that when ML comes in in the mornings, he has had pictures he has drawn for his teacher the night before. She happily accepts the picture from him and compliment something
“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world,” - Nelson Mandela. Secondary school teachers can essentially make or break the next generation of America. What students are taught in school can heavily affect how their future turns out to be. Secondary school teachers are some of the people that are heavily credited for many famous celebrities or athletes’ successes for the education they gave them. NBC News anchor Brian Williams is an example of someone who has given his secondary school teachers some form of acknowledgement for his success. Secondary school teachers are an important part of a person’s life in their spiritual, mental, and moral growth in life, and are some of the people who help shape young mind’s to do whatever they put their minds to.
Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher. She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching styles differed.
For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher.
When I think about teachers that I have had in the past, several different ones come to my mind. Each of these educators stands out in my mind for a variety of diverse reasons. Whether it is their sense of humor, their tactfulness, their love of the subject matter, their fanatical and sporadic behavior, or their yearning to be childish themselves, I can still remember at least one quality of every teacher I have ever encountered. Every one of these teachers conveyed subject material to their students just as they were educated and employed to do. However, I trust that every professional in the world has an abundance of opportunity for improvement; teachers could discover and improve themselves merely by having
Why am I a teacher? When I was a child I always had to pretend play school with my friends and I always had to be the teacher. My mom was a preschool teacher at the local day care center and I grew up seeing her cut bulletin boards and plan lessons. My best friend in middle school 's mom was also a teacher. I never wanted to be anything else and didn 't really have a back up plan if this teaching thing didn 't work out. In this paper I will take you on a journey through my educational years in elementary school and middle school, my time high school, delve into my time in college and then into my career as a teacher.
