Dicken’s wants to grow his business and build a larger customer base. He has thought about several different options. His first option builds retention in his 14-15-year-old customer base by developing a targeted program. Developing a new program is a great idea. This is because at this age kids are involved in other activities making them less focused on competitive soccer. Dickens should design a program that does not involve competition and is purely recreational. The program should meet once a week in order to have an easy and stress-free commitment. The program should focus on fun scrimmages and teach the fundamentals of teamwork and communication, with less focus on tactile skills such as ball work. While form is important, it shouldn’t …show more content…
One of the best ways to reach new markets would be to create an after school program. He could advertise it being a safe place for kids to release energy, learn life skills and removes the need for a babysitter. Perhaps he could team up with the local school and see if there is a bus that passes by his field to drop the kids off Dickens could advertise around the surrounding schools and local parks. Also another idea to bring a variety of customers in would be to host soccer birthday parties. There are many strengths to this option. It relieves the hassle of parents trying to find a daycare, after school program, or babysitter. The kids can get exercise and release energy instead of sitting around. Plus the parents won’t have to worry about their child getting the exercise they need. The birthday party remove the stress of hosting and planning a party. If soccer is a popular sport kids would love to have a soccer themed birthday party. If Dicken’s idea goes according to plan he would raise the community awareness between ages 6-9 above the current 40%. Also according to Alaska Youth Soccer, kids age 6-9 only need to practice 1 day a week. This means if more kids become to like soccer it would not completely disrupt the soccer schedule. It would be easier to find coaches and a time slot to host these new customers. However, a weakness is …show more content…
He may not want to address all of them at the same time though. This way he can focus on getting each one right and so he won't overload himself with clients he can't handle. He might want to consider applying option one and three, first. This because they are the simplest, and have great potential to bring in more customers. It will add quality to his product. Adding a recreational teens program, an after-school program, and a birthday party program addresses a wide variety of soccer playing customer segments (the competitive, the recreational, the exercise segment). Once he has this finalized, he should begin merchandising. It might only be worth merchandising if Dicken’s can bring in more customers. This is why he should begin with option one and three. Finally option four should be done last because if he figures out new ways to capture customers in his own town, he may not need to take on new markets. Also he should test his new programs out on his loyal and already informed market first. This way if the program goes bad, there will be less damage done and it will be easier to win over these customers versus the ones that don’t know Dickens and his company. With these newly added programs Dickens should ensure is team is well trained and encouraged to ensure standard in his company. Most importantly, Dicken’s should do market research before
Imagine running towards a soccer ball waiting for a chance to kick the ball into the goal and all of a sudden, trip over a hole in the field and break a foot. Fortunately, there are ways to avoid such injuries and stay physically fit with no broken bones. According to an interview about the benefits of soccer, “Children playing soccer improve in both their physical and mental capabilities” (“Sam Snow on the Benefits of Playing Soccer”). This quotation proves that soccer coaches can teach drills that can help children advance in their physical and mental growth. When children play soccer, they are required to have a high level of fitness and a large amount of mental skills, therefore, improving their skills in both necessary areas. To become
There are many sports in the world today, and each involves different skills in order to play. This brings a controversial question then: which sport is the greatest? Soccer is the greatest sport due to the fact that soccer is also an easy sport to learn. Almost every child played soccer when they were little. There are no true height requirements in order to play soccer. You do not have to be the tallest player out there to be the best. One of the most rewarding things about soccer is that it is a team sport, which requires players to work together. One of the main concerns for parents when their kids play a sport is how much will the sport cost? Soccer is one of the cheapest sports. Unlike many other sports, soccer is one of the only sports where the clock doesn’t stop. Therefore, soccer is the greatest sport. One of the interviewees, Garrett (age 20), said, “I do not think that soccer is the greatest sport. It gets overshadowed by other sports, for example, baseball and football.” In this paper, I will explain why soccer is the greatest sport.
Lush, green grass began to massage my bare feet. Sunshine beamed off the clean, white goal posts. With my cleats in my hands, ball in my bag, and my freshly washed shirt, only one thing came to mind: soccer. The sport I love and have devoted the past three years was evolving. Many of my friends were shifting from recreational to club soccer. After three years of recreational soccer, I decided to take my game to the next level and tryout for club soccer. Eager to showcase my skills, I stood on the field bearing confidence. Before tryouts began, my thoughts solely consisted of playing club soccer with my friends. I thought little about tryout preparation, because I didn’t know what to expect. No one gave me information about how to perform well
1. Target a new customer segment that id young and always ready to try something new and exciting.
Seven Roswell sophomores were selected to be on the Varsity girls soccer squad this year. This is an impressive accomplishment, because the team is typically dominated by upper-classmen. These students are Bella Akin (left back), Elise Baron (midfield), Meghan Connelly (winger/striker/right or left midfielder), Sienna Kent (winger/striker/right or left midfielder), Hayden Hammerman (center back), Anne Lescher (right back), and Kristin Liquori (goalie). At tryouts, the coach saw great potential in these players, especially in their ability to communicate and work together.
Eden Prairie Soccer has been a part of my life since I was four years old. All the experiences soccer has given me throughout the years helped make my mission trip to Haiti so successful. While in Haiti, football (soccer) is a huge form of entertainment among the children of the village we visited. The experiences the Eden Prairie Soccer Club has made it possible to connect with the children in Haiti through soccer. First, soccer has taught me many ways how to communicate on the field, through hand gestures, body language and verbal cues. In Haiti, there was a language barrier so hand gestures and body language became crucial when communicating to the children. These gestures were not just helpful when playing soccer, but also when playing
Over the years, playing soccer has taught me what it takes to succeed. From months of tough practices, I have gained a hard work ethic. From my coaches and fellow teammates, I have learned to work well with others in a group, as it is necessary to cooperate with teammates on the playing field. But most important, I have also gained self-confidence. If I fail, it doesn't' t matter if they mock or ridicule me; I will simply try again and do it better. I realize that it is necessary to risk failure in order to gain success. The
Strengths as a Salesman Dick Spencer has had an interesting career. He began as a salesman at Tri-American Corporation and quickly worked his way up the corporate ladder to management level. He experienced many achievements and also many roadblocks during that time. This case analysis will examine some of the contributing factors to his successes and failures as well as provide recommendations on how he could have been more successful as a manager. Dick Spencer experienced great success very early in his sales career. His outgoing, likable personality could have factored into that success. High levels of openness to experience are associated with curiosity and a willingness to entertain new
In recent years the soccer association has grown from one hundred and fifty players to three hundred players. In doing so they needed to expand their facilities. The local municipality did not have the resources nor the soccer association for doing such a project. With my continued involvement with the soccer association throughout the years, I knew I had to do something to help them. With helping to get this project done, I could get the children of the area the same experience I had as a child only better.
“We have plummeted to rock bottom,” fumed our soccer coach. Rock bottom. My D.A.R.E officer described a lifelong drug addict with the same connotation. The words alluded to a record of disappointment, a voice of inadequacy, and a future of uncertainty. And they stung because it was sadly very true. We invested a grueling preseason and procrustean training sessions just to lose every single game in the tournament. Despite the blood stained socks, bruised shins, and sweat drenched hair in addition to our aching muscles from yesterday’s arduous games, we still could not produce a single win. Effort was obviously not the issue; minor errors or lapses of concentration were the deciding factors in every result, and it was disheartening to botch a potentially successful weekend of soccer. My head hung low as our coach continued to ramble about the looming threats of Sisyphean fitness and possible cuts.
2. Another way to encourage them is to show soccer craze as it is to soccer lovers, to take a day out, block a park and let anyone and everyone come play soccer and then get a chance to watch the professionals play soccer live at the stadium locally.
This type of new program offering and adding one-on-one training for his current customers would increase NOCO’s market penetration in the 10-13 year old group too. Using customer satisfaction surveys would be a great market research tool for Dyer to use to identify the types of new programs his customers are looking for. Diversification in NOCO’s target markets is another avenue for Dyer to explore to expand his business. Consumers in Colorado are very interested in soccer. Is there enough interest to warrant developing adult soccer teams? Is there a market for toddler soccer training? What about a childcare program for younger kids so parents can watch older kids compete in the tournaments? Dyer needs to hit the pavement in his community and in the neighboring communities to get first hand feedback from the demographics he is targeting. In order to increase awareness of his business in the towns adjacent to Fort Collins, Dyer could host recruiting events in Loveland, Longmont and Greeley. With the information he gathers at those events he could consider the viability of bussing new customers to Fort Collins or offering camps outside his home base. This type of market development could be instrumental in growing NOCO into the recognizable brand that Dyer wants it to be.
NOCO Soccer Academy is a successful youth soccer training program is the market that Dyer has been targeting. Dyer wants to grow his business enough to reach his strategic goal of building a sports complex for his business to occupy. Dyer needs to double his business in order to support this goal. In using S.W.O.T. analysis to evaluate NOCO’s current situation it is clear that NOCO has a number of things working for it already; customer retention is very high, awareness of NOCO in its’ current market is close to 100 percent and Dyer has access to enough trainer resources to continue his company’s growth. Some of the obstacles NOCO faces in working toward expansion are loss of customer base to high school sports programs after they
This structure must have a low financial budget and also cater for further expansion in the future. The client has indicated that they are actively seeking to advertise and raise the view of Kindergarten with the aim of filling both 3 Year-old and 4 year-old programs to their capacity. Therefore it is very important that the planned structure can fulfil the requirements of the clients. It is also mentioned that the client is very cautious of a structure that all new individuals can follow even if they don’t have the right skills and experience needed to finish the task. This is proposed in the form of the Annual Marketing Plan, which will be conducted by volunteers who constantly keep changing every year. Therefore this designed structure must cater for the client with this particular need. Furthermore, the client has indicated an interest in the professional development of their staff and would like to conduct programs that would help the staff be motivated in the work they perform. Although this is not yet confirmed as a definite trial, the designed structure should be able to achieve this possibility.
Giving a child in need a pair of shoes for each pair purchased by a customer. As stated, Mr. Myscoskie was not creating a business; he was creating a movement. As a team of skillful business owners they wanted to create a business that supported the entrepreneurial efforts of other startup companies both locally and globally.
