Difference between Google, Msn, and Yahoo
When you are in hurry, which search engine do you choose in order to get the best result? Maybe you just use the one that is familiar to you. Google, Yahoo, and Msn are the three most common search engines that we use in daily life. Although Yahoo and Msn are not the top five of search engines (based on Searchengineswatch.com Feb 2003), we still use those because we are used to using those sites. In my personal experience, I also never realized why I use those search engines. I just use them because the first time I use I was told to use “google.com” by my friend and it has become my habit. In this paper particularly, I will discuss how search engines work, and the similarities and differences

Using this system, the first priority is based on its own database, and the second priority is based on the human-powered directories. Msn uses this technology.
Those types make up the main difference between Google, Yahoo, and Msn. In my experience when I type “used cheap car Ames”, the most satisfying result is the one from Google because it provides the information about used cars. Yahoo doesn’t give the result that I want, and Msn gives the information but some of it is not related to what I desire. On the other hand, when I type “pool”, Yahoo gives the most accurate things; it provides a tutorial on how to play a pool, where I can reserve a swimming pool, and also give information on sanitation pools. Google gives the most unrelated sites, such as it gives the magazine, and types of words; and the Msn results are between those two sites. It means Yahoo does better in a specific word search or Yahoo need a better choice of words in searching while Google does better in any kind of explanation’s word. And if you are not sure about the explanation, you can use Msn.
Next issue would be relating to the different layout. Google has a plain layout; it is intended for adults and busy people because they don’t have too much time to see any additional information. There is not much information you can see on Google, you only divide your search in three main categories: search on the websites, images, and news. How about Yahoo? Yahoo
Launched on 15 January 2001, Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia that uses the web platform for online users to access. Boasting with over 26 million pieces of writing in 285 languages, Wikipedia has transformed to be a giant in the field of search engines optimization technology. The open source concept that it rides have made it cheap to access and a better choice for many online users. This is especially among the users who find it cumbersome to follow prolonged registration processes to access information on the internet. Any search term queried on the Google™ home page search engine will definitely give a hit from the Wikipedia site, and if not present, a prompt will request the user to create a page for such a term. In this way,
`Google’. It is complicated in the initial phase of searching process, when it does not have any
More importantly, she mainly covers why Google is the most efficient search engine and how it operates more accurately than other engines and Web browsers. Kraft shares the same positive outlook on Google as the preferred search engine as is evidenced in this paper.
Not only does Google make things easier to look up, Google also makes information easier to read and understand. When you search
How often do you use Google, Bing, or any other internet search engine on a daily basis? Each time you search for something you are bombarded with information, constantly absorbing said information. Nicholas Carr, author of the article “Google Is Making Us Stupid,” states that Google is changing the way he and many others think. However, with the constant influx of information presented in a Google search, our brains have the option to expand and retain more information than ever before. Access to these search engines provides us with a breadth of information never before conceived. If there is anything on any subject that you want to know,
Nowadays, when one needs to search for something on the Internet, most people automatically type in "google.com." Some computers have Google as their default search engine on their computer. In fact, Google is one of only four primarily recognized search engines, the others being Ask,
Due to the increased competition from Yahoo and Microsoft, it has posed a great threat to Google Company. Entry of such like companies in the market has been relatively easy and even offering similar services to the consumers is no longer a problem as unlike a while back, technology has greatly improved. With an improvement in technology, creating sites that help people access information from the internet has been quite cheap and all it calls for is the creativity of a company. Google, however, has been able to remain at the top of the chart. They have been able to come up with a user-friendly search engine for their clients, one that is easy to understand as well as easy to use. Also, Google has been able to cut on cost as they are able to create web pages using UNIX web servers which are relatively cheap. This makes it possible for them to minimize the cost of input and hence maximizing their profit margins. This makes it possible for them to hire qualified personnel, offer quality services, advertise their products, and even offer promotions, helping them overcome the competition in the market structure.
Google’s search engine allows users to input and submit data online. In return, the user would receive relevant search results. Behind the scenes upon the submission, web crawlers scan through billions of pages and link keywords from a user’s data to the publish data on the web. Their PageRank technology ranks these pages by the number and popularity of other sites that link to the page. This provides the user with accurate and popular results. Google search engines generated high revenues between advertising on its websites and selling its technology to other sites.
I shall say that this is something relative. Most of the people who use the internet on a daily basis knows how to use it, even though the other part still struggles when they try to look for the information that they need. Google is known for being the biggest and most popular search engine, its search algorithm is the fastest that exists in the internet right know. Also, the way it gives priority to popular sites or the ones with the relevant information that the user is looking for, is what makes it the best option when someone needs to look something. I can agree
Competition in the search industry is high. There are several search engines available, albeit Google holds the top percentage. Some of Google’s opposing forces are Yahoo!, Bing, and MSN search. The strongest is competitive rivalry and the weakest is buyer power. There is a big rivalry amongst search engines in gaining the newest advances and best technology to suit the customer. Buyer power is weak because there is no substitute for an online search engine. You could use an encyclopedia or something of that nature, but with online search engines,

Google is a company that was conceptualized in a dorm room by two Stanford University college students in 1996 (Arnold, 2005, p. 1) and has morphed into one of the greatest technological powerhouses in operation today. What began as merely a means to analyze and categorize Web sites according to their relevance has developed into a vast library of widely utilized resources, including email servicing, calendaring, instant messaging and photo editing, just to reference a few. Recent statistics collected by SearchEngineWatch.com reflects that of the 10 billion searches performed within the United States during the month of February, 2008, an impressive 5.9 billion of them were executed by Google (Burns, 2008). Following the success of Netscape and its web browser, Internet became a resource and communication platform idolized by many IT students in the universities. What started off as a hobby-cum-research[1] work by Jerry Yang (now Chief of Yahoo!) and David Filo (Co-founder of Yahoo!) for their Ph.D. dissertations; has evolved and became an Internet sensation over time. What they did was to compile all their favourite web links to form an online directory for easy navigation in the World Wide Web. The duo’s work immediately garnered a lot of attention from many surfers in the Internet world and before they realized it, Yahoo! became one of the most highly visited websites of all time. The duo saw the
