The Walt Disney Organization has many different business units. For example the company produces movies, television shows, a television network and music. It also has merchandise to support the movies, music, and tv shows. Another entertainment sector of the business is the cruise lines, adventure travel and amusement parks. The amusement parks are located in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and two locations in the United States, Florida and California. We will discuss the park history and some of the challenges and accomplishments that Disney has faced expanding its parks globally.

Other than those accommodations lodging revenue was lost to independent hotels and motels in the area that accommodated millions of visitors each year.
The second amusement park location was Florida. They purchased28,000 acres of land, enough for plenty of park expansion, shopping and lodging (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies, 2011). The park opened in 1971 with the flagship Magic Kingdom Park. In 1982 they added the futuristic park called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or EPCOT (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies, 2011). In more recent years the Florida park have added MGM Studios (now known as Hollywood Studios since the separation from MGM and Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and two water parks. Walt Disney and the company had learned the lesson from California about space and in Florida they still have plenty to expand and they have dozens of hotels to host thousands of visitors. This became a destination vacation where families from all over the world came, stayed and played at the parks.
The next venture was opening Disneyland in Tokyo. The company unsure of its first global park expansion let Tokyo build and own it and Disney just took royalties on the park (Solomon & Stranger, 1994). The park opened in 1983 and became a huge success even in the cooler climate. Disney learned another lesson, always own the park
After the development and success of the new character, Walt Disney Studios became a global reference. (“Mickey Mouse” was actually going to be called “Mortimer Mouse”. However, Lillian Disney, Walt’s wife, did not like the name Mortimer because it was too “depressing” so they changed it into Mickey because it was a “happy and friendly name”.) That is the reason why Walt Disney always stated that “It all started with a mouse”. Initially, Walt was unable to sell the first two Mickey Mouse cartoons because they were silent films. Therefore, they made a third Mickey Mouse cartoon, this time with fully synchronized sound, the Steamboat Willie, which premiered at the Colony Theater in New York on the 18th of November 1928 and became a tremendous accomplishment for the
I may not have a star to grant all of my wishes or a fairy godmother to turn a pumpkin into a chariot. However, what I do have is the ambition, determination, and dedication to build my own chariot, make my own dress, and provide myself with the opportunity for a fairy tale ending. “A dream is a wish your heart makes,” is a popular saying in the Disney culture. Almost every young girl gets caught up with the magical world of Disney. It was a safe haven where I felt I could dream big and believe in a happily-ever-after ending.
Walt got the idea to make an amusement park for families. He would call it Disneyland; he got the inspiration of the design of the park from his trip to a park in the “Tivoli” park in Denmark. Disneyland costed $17 million, and opened in 1955. The opening was a disaster, it was too hot, and people were not enjoying their time because of the extreme heat.
Walt Disney had a vision. It was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together. The more Walt dreamed of a "magical park," the more imaginative and elaborate it became. Finally in 1953, he had the Stanford Research Institute conduct a survey for a 100-acre site, outside of Los Angeles. He needed space to build rivers, waterfalls, and mountains; he would have flying elephants and giant teacups a fairy-tale castle, moon rockets, and a scenic railway; all inside a magic kingdom he called "Disneyland." After all the ups and downs to bring up this Walt Disney to be success and managed to get
When asked about Disney the overwhelming majority will have happy thoughts associated with Disney. However, my research into Euro Disney radically changes my opinion on such a glamourous franchise. This is coming from one of the biggest Disney advocates in the world, Euro Disney is an embarrassment to the Disney name as well as the brand. The disrespectful manner Disney went about creating a new world in a foreign nation lead directly to its looming demise.
Walt made many movies after that but he wanted to work on his dream project, creating Disneyland. One of Walt’s most famous ideas was creating a theme park (Tierk 25). He wanted to create a place where families could have fun (Tierk 25). Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California in 1955. Disneyland was such a success that Walt wanted to create another theme park named Disney World in Florida, which began in the early 1960’s. Saldly Walt died before he could finish Disney World. Walt, who was 65, died on December 15th, 1966. The Disney company continued the theme park (that opened in 1971) and making cartoons, books, toys, movies, tv shows and more locations for Disney theme parks like Japan, China, Canada, and France.
Before Walt Disney World was built, Walt Disney had to secretly purchase the land using fake company names in order to buy it inexpensively. He first had to explore across the United States for the perfect location. He wanted to fulfill his idea: “A family park where parents and children could have fun together.” He had already begun when Disneyland opened in 1955. Opening day was successful in numbers: the freeway had a seven mile backup, an estimated 15,000 people were coming, but 28,000 showed up that day (Klein).
Walt Disney began in 1923 with a short film called Alice’s Wonderland. It was co-owned by Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney. Disney moved forward into the future with very popular filmed entertainment such as Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi and
In 1955, the most charming place in the world was ‘Disneyland’ was open for the public. The idea was to create a magical place for the whole family. Ever since then, Disneyland theme parks have been growing and today Walt Disney Company owns 14 theme parks in the world.
After doing incredible in the film industry, Walt Disney had a desire to branch out. So after “several years of planning and construction, Disneyland was opened July 17, 1955, which soon led to the creation of Walt Disney World the opened in October 1, 1971 and Tokyo Disneyland, the first foreign Disney Park that opened in April 15, 1983 after Walt’s and Roy’s deaths (D23)”. Currently Disney owns media networks such as “ABC, and ESPN Inc., parks and resorts including Disneyland Resort Paris, and Aulani resort and spa (About)”.With all the items that Disney as created, their number one focus has always been the experience that their customers have from their services. By to create a strong customer centric culture, brand loyalty, technology advances at the parks,
Once settled into Burbank, California, Disney Brothers Studio started to begin a brand new project that would put them over the top. After working diligently for almost a year finally, Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17th, 1955. This theme park took up over 160 acres of land and provided rides, games, and pure entertainment. Weeks before the opening for the park, six thousand invitations were mailed out for the big day. When the big day finally came, about 28,000 ticket holders came running to the entrance to get in. When entering into the main entrance, a big opening led straight through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Visitors came from all over the world to experience all the different “lands” to Disneyland Park. Disneyland Park was made up of four separate lands which are

The Walt Disney Company was formed in 1923 as the Disney Brother Cartoon Studio with Walt and Roy Disney. Walt Disney Company had always been successfully operating theme park until 1992. Starting in 1955 where the first Disneyland set its foot at Anaheim, California and in 1983 in Florida (Hill, 2000). While in 1983, Disney faced a true challenge as they opened the first international Disneyland in Tokyo. In a fear of wide cultural differences between American and Japanese, it turned out an unexpected massive successful Tokyo Disneyland. As a result, Disney did not hesitate to invest a big sum of money for Euro Disney in Paris.
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. These cartoon characters became so famous that he designed theme park for the entertainment of children and family in U.S.A. Disney then thought to spread the theme parks around the world. Therefore Disney theme parks were opened first in Tokyo, Japan called "Disney Resort" which became sucuessful by luck. The second theme park was opened in Paris called " Disneyland Paris” which became unsuccessful because of the cultural differences between U.S and Paris. Keeping this problem in mind, Disney opened third theme park in Hong Kong called Hong Kond Disneyland which became successful.
