I choose to interview Mary from the Fresno City College child development center. Mary works with toddlers who are 2 years of age. While observing Mary with her students, I notice she was well organized and very attentive to her students, and they seem to respond very well to her. I also noticed that Mary has a lot of patients with her students and they love her. I also noticed while observing Mary, that she seems to deal each of the students differently according to what needs that need to be met and how each of the students learning is different. Mary is well organized and has a strategic schedule that she goes by. Mary first decided to get her associates degree in early child development at a slow pace, which was 16 years ago. She then got a position at Fresno City College part time and also another position as a teacher’s aide at another school working with preschool children, working 19 hours a week for a little over a year. She had gotten a full time position at …show more content…
She also lived in the mountain so commuting to school from the mountains and making sure her children made it school on time. While going to school and tending to her 3 children, she still had to juggle a full time job, to ensure that her household was taken care of and as well as her children. One semester while taking her finals, she was in a very bad care accident, which prolonged her getting her Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, but she was determined to finish school. Because Mary had worked full time and was going to school full time she felt as though she was neglecting her children. When I ask Mary has she achieved majority she stated that she wasn’t, she want go back to school to get her Master’s or to be an advisor for early childhood development
Chapter two discusses various theorists that helped to mold and shape early childhood education to where it is today. There are several different theorists that contributed to the development of early childhood education. Some of these theorists include Alfred Adler, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, and John Dewey. Each theorist developed a unique theory that has caused early childhood guidance and education to flourish like it has today. Without learning and building on these theories, early childhood guidance and education would never develop or change. The chapter explains how some theories may seem strange to the contemporary families, but these theories are the foundation of how early childhood education got to where it is today. The book goes
My dad, because he has a good job and he can be lazy whenever he wants to and he gets to buy whatever he wants.
In my first semester of college at Concordia, I had the opportunity to have the class EDU 120. A requirement for this class was having 10 hours of fieldwork; at least 3 hours in each level of childhood. The reason for this requirement is to help the students discover what grade level they want to teach in the future.
Early Childhood Education illustrates the teaching and care of children in other environments outside of the home. Early childhood centers on the development of all children no matter their gender, race, abilities, or ethnic orientation and gives knowledge of early childhood learning process, which entails values, culture, desires of parents for their children, and especially a child’s need for knowledgeable functionality in society.

Shenitta Niles is on her third semester at Roxbury Community College. She got her high school diploma back in 2011 from Charles Town high school. She originally started out at Bunker Hill Community College, but later transferred to Roxbury Community College due to the low cost, convenience and transportation. Although she is a mother of a young child, she attends the college full time pursuing a major in early childhood education. Constantly being around her daughter and other young children has inspired her to pursue that career. She isn’t sure on the type of field she hopes to work at once she finishes her associate’s degree, but she will continue on to a four year college pursuing this path. Nevertheless, a long term goal of hers is to
Heather began her career life in high school working with children as teaching assistant. She was unsure of what field of work she wanted to pursue and knew that childcare was not her passion so she had the opportunity to enter into the Army. During her time in the Army Heather quickly realized this was not the career she would be interested in. Heather felt there was not enough flexibility and the Army was very demanding of her and she felt
Her biggest accomplishment is her son while her biggest fear is something bad happening to her son. Her biggest stress as a professor is the long hours, as she does not leave URI until five, and by the time she gets home at 6, her son goes to sleep within a few minutes. She wishes that she could spend more quality time with her son throughout the week.

April 21, 2017) She mention sometimes she feels like she needs more help to be able to give more help to the students. When I was doing daycare last year I often felt the same way. It's hard to focus on one child who really needs it when you have a whole other class to watch. Her goal for her students are to have and learn coping and empathy skills. She tries to encourage this by teaching them "... Role playing Problem, emotion books, songs, and talking to them about emotions in both small and large groups."(C, personal communication. April 21,
Throughout the ECCE 1101 Introduction to Early Childhood course at Savannah Technical College there were several theorists introduced in the course that had a major impact on molding the foundation for an understanding of early childhood as a whole. Although the scope covered a broad spectrum of early childhood, majority of the main focus was on early education. The work of Lev Vygotsky greatly influenced the field of early education. This paper will include a brief summary of Vygotsky’s life, a description of his major ideas, and how those ideas impact early education today.
I want to become someone who teaches, an educator, a role model, a teacher. I want to help children in their early childhood education. I want to become a teacher because teachers play a very big role in children’s lives. Not only do they serve as educators, but for many kids, the classroom is where they feel the safest. They feel welcomed and at home. For these certain kids it is their one place of stability where they are always guaranteed to be loved and get fed and to have fun. I enjoy watching kids grow and helping them develop their learning skills. Every kid needs a good education and I want to be the one giving them that good education. I want to make a difference in their lives and prepare them for the road ahead.
Semi structured interviews with two parents from the Early Years setting, were used to give a more in-depth perspective of parents understanding. This qualitative method of research provided a way to guide the conversation to the topic of research, while still giving the opportunities to follow different paths of conversation to clarify and expand on different points and ideas. It was important to have key points written down before the interview started as this gave a focus for questioning. The interview responses and questions were recorded by hand, written notes were taken down throughout the interview, although this can lead the researcher to respond slower and is time consuming, recording the interview on a Dictaphone has been unpopular
