Facts: The plaintiffs (Imburgia, Greiner) filed a class action lawsuit against the defendant (Directv) for allegedly charging early termination fees improperly. The defendant was unsure about the application of state vs. federal law and put forth a motion to stay or dismiss the case in preference of arbitration, which was denied by the trial court. The court of appeals affirmed by stating that the state law precedent applies and the arbitration clause was unenforceable.

Ms. Wadsworth reports her daughter visited an agent location to purchase a new phone thinking it was a direct Verizon Store. She purchased a new iPhone 6 and agreed to a device payment plan. However, the representative did not explain to her that she would also have to pay off remaining amount for her existing device payment plan. It was not until she received her next invoice that she realized she was billed for three device payment plans.

Comcast even included bundle deals for their customers. Comcast sold two types of bundles: television content and services. Content bundles typically included the big broadcast networks, basic cable channels, and a selection of premium cable channels. Bundling decisions could be highly controversial, as the high-profile legal dispute between the Tennis Channel and Comcast illustrated. Comcast elected not to include the Tennis Channel in its basic cable package, which reached nearly all TV subscribers. My compare and contrast essay is about Comcast and DirecTV. Do they offer the same thing to their customers or is one better than the other one? For the longest time I was curious to know which company has the better deal for their customers. Not just the better price, but I would like to look at service and their reliability as well. Comcast has been around for many years.

Comcast Corporation, based in Philadelphia, PA, with its bundling services operates as a media and technology with its two primary business, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal. Comcast sprung into life in 1963 and went public in 1973 (James, 2014) It has acquired many corporation to take a firm stand where it is at today. Comcast Cable is nation’s largest video, high-speed Internet which has continuously increased its speed 13 times in last 13 years which now offers up to 505 Mbps to residential customers and up to 10 Gbps to businesses as well as phone services under XFINITY brand (Comcast, 2014). NBCUniversal operates in media, entertainment and sports cable network, the NBC and Telemundo broadcast networks, television production operations, television station groups, Universal Pictures and Universal Parks and Resorts (Yahoo Finance, 2015). Comcast also invests heavily in innovative businesses that represent the next generation of entertainment, communications and digital technology by partnering with entrepreneurs who have the vision, passion and tenacity to succeed (Comcast, 2015).

The county should focus on proving that the evaluation was completely objective. The numbers are already on the side of the county and there is not concrete evidence that age had anything to do with the situation. The only problem is that in criminal law there must be clear proof that this occurred. In a civil lawsuit there normally must only be preponderance of the evidence. According to the case of Bell Atlantic Co. vs Twombly there must be more than the possibility that age discrimination occurred. The situation must also be "plausible" to demonstrate that this discrimination occurred not just a could have happened situation(Steinman,2016). Verizon Communications formed by the merger of two big and successful companies, Atlantic Corp. and GTE Corp., is the largest telecommunication company. The company serves large part of the market in United States. However the company faces certain strengths and weaknesses which affect the way company formulate its strategies.

In Chaucer's Canterbury Tales a storytelling competition is proposed by the Host. In his mind, it was only proper for the Knight to tell his story first. The sneaky Host rigged the drawing of straws and the Knight won the honor of going first. He told a Roman Epic of loyalty and love, set in classical antiquity that portrayed his gallant manner and elevated social class. The Miller's Tale, a parody of the Knight's Tale, came next. The Miller's Tale was more contemporary and left out many of the ideals that were displayed by the characters in the Knight's Tale. This fabliau told by the Miller seemed to debase the Knight's Tale and also to debase the Knight himself.

Comcast also launched a beta version of Fancast Xfinity TV, its online television service. The Xfinity service gives subscriber access to hours of content not previously available online. Comcast also took the opportunity of the market trend and added to its mobile content. It released Comcast Mobile app 2.0, which includes a remote DVR programming service. Also, the company launched COMCAST4U, a mobile SMS text service, which gives customers access to frequently accessed account functions. All of these new additions will allow Comcast

“The longest, deepest, and most pervasive depression lasted from 1929 to 1939, which was the Great Depression” (Encyclopedia.com). This time period led many people into great turmoil. Families were suffering to get by and did almost anything they could to survive. Money was very limited for the majority of people because of “the stock market crash of 1929 and the bank panics of the early 1930s causing the worst economic downturn in history” (Encyclopedia.com). The Great Depression had a huge impact on modern day literature. “It represented the time of despair and sorrow while emphasizing the horrible conditions one had to go through hoping for a better life. Many authors tried to teach a historical event while also instilling life lessons about hope and overcoming obstacles. A big input from authors was new styles of themes with incorporation of realism and modernism” (Linde) where they bring personal experiences to their audiences. The hopelessness during this period meant that people needed inspiration for new ways to deal with life and literature filled that opening whether people started writing or reading.
