whether is it a nice book or not? Here a decorative cover page does not carry a long lasting impact on that persons mind. Therefore, personality includes both factors i.e. physical appearance and formidable foundation of good behavior and character.
Physical appearance is that personality which creates first impression in front of others that’s why it can be taken as the ‘primary or outer’ personality of an individual, while foundation is considered as ‘secondary or inner’ personality because it has second impact on others. It is not necessary that one should possess physical appearance because it is sometimes depends on the heredity factors of that person. It is inborn type of personality and sometimes depends on the luck factor too. If a person got good looks then it adds to his plus point. We should remember that a person’s height, weight and complexion are not in his hand but he can take care to keep himself neat and clean to impress others. Thus, working on primary personality is necessary but only putting concentration on it is not sufficient. The best personality is based on the solid foundation of character. Good behavior and co-operation makes a man popular. But this strong foundation is not an inborn quality of a person. It can be developed from one’s childhood and has impact of family, family background, friends, working area, society, regions and experience etc. These factors also contribute in developing one’s character and behavior.
The word personality is known as quite a diverse concept and can be described differently in accordance to different people, it comes from the word persona which is a Latin term and is referred to as a mask which actors use when performing. Based on this it could be concluded that characteristics which are visible along with external characteristics (the aspects of us in which can be seen by others) is what personality refers to, (Schultz and Scultz, 2004). Another definition of personality by a different psychologist is “The dynamic and organized set of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences his or her cognitions, motivations, and behaviours in various situations.” (Rychman, 1999: 5). There are many areas of personality
What do entrepreneurs do that distinguishes them from any other person involved in business? Why is it that personality characteristics may be good predictors of who will be a successful entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurs are risk takers in the market. They are willing to gamble their hard work for a business that may fail or succeed. Many fail to keep their business alive, however; others are lucky to compete and survive in the market. Entrepreneurs like Maribel Galsim, owner of Maribel’s Daycare, were successful in their business. Maribel’s Daycare was successful because of hard work, patience, and being adaptable.
“The fact that most new businesses fail is hardly a secret”(James Surowiecki). In this quote, Surowiecki is saying that all entrepreneurs know that when they start a business, it can either prosper or fail. Building a successful business takes time and money. However, it also takes a lot of commitment. One has to be focused on his or her goals, and they must do whatever it takes to accomplish them. The most important characteristic of an entrepreneur is determination because it can help a businessperson accomplish any goals they set and build a successful business.
There are different factors that can influence the success of a business. For each entrepreneur, the factors might be different depending on their knowledge, skills, and personal traits. However, I will mention a few key points that I consider are relevant and every entrepreneur should take into account in order to succeed. The most critical factors are execution, knowledge and skill, honesty and integrity, passion, hard work, and persistence (Sutevski, n.d). An entrepreneur needs to execute his or her ideas. Only actions lead to success, it doesn’t matter how great the ideas or plans are if there is no action there
A person can be defined in many ways: sex, age, hair colour, weight, and most importantly personality. The personality of a person can be a determining factor of many areas of a person’s life. Personality can be a predictor of whether a person likes or dislikes sports, how much schooling there will go through and what occupation a person may chose. There are many aspects to a person’s personality and there are an numerous ways to determine a person’s personality.
In psychology the question of what factor affecting personality most has been constantly debated with many theories around the conclusion. The two factors concerning nurture or nature have been picked apart and compared and contrasted to see what might be a dominant factor. It still seems that one is not more overpowering than the other but the question still remains of what is the leading trait in personality? Personality is how we interact to the world around us and our behaviors we express. The underlying causes although and why each and every person is uniquely different with a personality all their own is from the nature and nurture perspective. Personality in a technical sense is described as the visible aspect of ones character and the
This article talks about how it can be difficult to be an entrepreneur but it’s worth it. An entrepreneur is when one lives off their own business. Eades talks about how by starting your own business you can make a positive impact no matter the risk that exists of failing. The author mentions a few people that are well known that became very successful; for example, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Following their footsteps is very extreme; it can be a goal but it is something
Most successful entrepreneurs exhibit certain characteristics. Some entrepreneurs are open-minded, able to learn quickly, and skilled at conceptualizing.
The entire notion of 'Personality ' rests upon a number of assumptions: 1) that traits and types exist 2) that traits and types are stable over time 3) that these traits and types are consistent across different situations. At least two of these assumptions are so problematic that they challenge the very existence of Personality. Critically evaluate this statement.
judgments of those who are around them. In doing so, one of the first things we draw a conclusion from in formulating one’s character is by observing their facial appearance and attractiveness, or so they say. According to Implicit Personality Theory, people form and group numerous types of personality traits together (Aaronson, Wilson, & Akert, 2010). Having said that people more likely than not, always tend to group people who they find facially attractive as also having a good and positive personality trait (Eagly, Ashmore, Makhijani, & Longo, 1991). However, it is actually quite the opposite because it’s the other way around. Individuals with positive
The personality is what makes every human being on the planet exceptional in his or her own way. To go even further, a lot of people are extroverts, some are just introverts, amusing, or just simply quiet. "The word personality derives from the Latin term persona, which means to mask. Those that are describing personality as a mask, view character as an individual that is their true self, when they are in public. It is that feature of ourselves we choose to show to the world"(Comstock, 2008). Numerous different philosophers out there trust that they have the greatest theory about personalities. Some really have the belief that genetics,
A question most people have wondered at one point in their life, “why are we the way we are?” Personality defines who we are. It defines every part of our lives, choosing friends, where we work and who we have relationships with. Most of the factors which shape someone’s personality are a result of his/her heredity and the environment in which he/she was exposed to. (Essays, 2013).
