Teaching is not merely about methods used and material presented in the classroom, but about shaping students’ lives to help them construct a firm foundation for a successful future. I desire to teach my students basic life skills as well as challenge them to set and reach their highest goals.

As a teacher, one of my main roles is to motivate my learners, to develop their ability to learn also to develop my learner’s aspiration to learn. When you train to teach you read about delivering training and how to facilitating learning, but in reality you do much more than that, your role as a teacher is not just about teaching your subject or preparing learners for assessment. Some schools with strong sporting traditions reinforce participation in sport. The sports that students are encouraged to participate in can depend on the school’s history and traditions, the facilities and equipment available, and the expertise of the teachers.

I will need to include learners in agreeing their individual learning plan so ensure it meets their needs.

By doing Module 1 of this course I had opportunity to think about my career as a teacher. In order for me to improve learners’ learning I have to create for them appropriate environment using different teaching strategies in which every learner feels respected and safe. Learners need to know that learning has a purpose and what they are learning it is relevant to their lives. Also it is important to provide them with feedback regarding their progress on what they are trying to achieve, how far they are from the goal that was set. And how to achieve all I have to keep on trying new things and improving teaching skills. The actual teaching, classes I attended for this course gave me opportunity to better myself as a teacher. I learned about teaching principals from our teaching classes, later applied my knowledge in my actual teaching practice and also learned about teaching ideas through the web. From all these I understood that my development as a teacher should never end because teaching is a part of a life-long

The objectives and learning goals used are aligned with the State Standards as listed above due to the fact that every student should be able to complete the specific skills required, and allow for teammate interaction and a feeling of satisfaction during play. This lesson is designed to introduce the skills to the students so that he/she can be more familiar with the sport of volleyball and learn that the sport can be carried on and used later in life. The main goal, however, during every physical education lesson, is to promote a lifetime of physical activity for my students. Making activities fun, enjoyable, and enthusiastic will allow them to want to continue participating for a lifetime. Previous knowledge of movement is important in physical education. Each student will be required to move during every activity he/she is involved with.

The student playing must have skill to play, move, and memorize all at the same time. There are physical activities such as jazz running, body movements, and marching in general. Some students say this is the most competitive team they have ever been a part of. That is another thing about being a sport, students are a team pulled together as one.

In turn students complete the obstacle course, running around the first two cones crawling through the tunnel, spinning the hoop around their hips, jumping over the box, picking up a ball and bouncing the ball around the final two cones. The activity involves different FMS locomotion and body management skills such as run crawl, jump, spin, dodge and object control (bounce ball) skills in a predetermined sequence. This activity uses gross (run, jump etcetera) and fine (bounce) motor skills in a predetermined sequence and links to ACPMP061, ACPMP064 and ACPMP069, that is students perform different FMS in a sequence whilst applying movement strategies (ACARA, HPE, 2013).

Developing acceptance and inclusion through sports, performed at the highest levels, becomes a powerful means of communication in society and specifically in schools.

Another possibility that may arise is that the more skilful students may empathize with the students who are less skilful and take on a leadership role. For example, the next step of the unit will be to learn how to dribble a basketball. Now that the teacher has knowledge of the different skill levels of students, an even playing field can be implanted by either, mixing skilful students with less skilful students or separating the skilful students and the less skilled students. This can work, by giving the skilled students goals that are more challenging and the less skilled students, goals that are more suited to their proficiency level. For the purpose of this paper, the unit will be based on mixing skilful students with less skilled students together, and modifying game situations to enhance development and acquisition of skills by creating challenges that both skill levels will find fun. For example, as Physical education is a practical subject, children at this year level (7) learn best by demonstration of proper technique and getting students to put the technique into practice. For a dribbling lesson, a teacher can change the basketball to a tennis ball for various mini dribbling games. This change of ball will not only challenge students but may help bring the students level and understanding of one another’s dilemma. This approach provides a relatively fun activity and

The goal of the National common core standards is to develop students who are career ready and for those going into higher education. It consists of standards and clear understandings` of what students are expected to learn. In order for students to achieve this they not only need to be good in their academics but also have good soft traits like optimism, friendliness and personal attributes that enhance an individual’s interactions. Schools require students to take the core requirements such as english, math, science, and social studies. However, schools tend to overlook an important factor in building a well- rounded person, which is sports. Schools fail to discover the amount of students that joint sports and all the positive ways sports can impact students.

Working in groups at stations to learn the game rules, as well as working with a partner to pass the ball works inside the affective learning domain.

Sports programs have been an integral part of all schools. They support the academics of the school and therefore foster success in life. These programs are educational and help produce productive citizenship. They help students experience and build skills that may help them in their future, like interpersonal and time management skills. Education may kindle the light of knowledge, but sports help to maintain the proper physique. Sports are also an important means of entertainment and a use for energy after long hours of study. Sports increase a student’s performance not only in the classroom but also in their life.

My motives for becoming a teacher, the roles/jobs of a teacher and students, My goals I want to achieve, The goals I want to achieve are making every student’s parent’s happy and giving the students the best education and I want them to want them to come to school and be engaged in the class.

There is no one size fits all teaching strategy for all students. Therefore teachers must use a variety of teaching strategies to cater for a variety of different learners (Gill, 2013). It is important for teachers to regularly evaluate their practices and whether they are meeting the learning needs of all students (Zeichner & Liston, 1987). Self-evaluation can assist teachers to improve the educational experiences provided for students and assist in identifying the professional education you need to further develop your capacity to teach well (Schwartz, n.d.). As a future teacher developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers are skills I must be proficient in.
