From some of these networking strategies will remain personal friendships; some will develop into business relationships. As we become immersed in our careers, we develop a network of business contacts almost instinctively. We choose to keep in touch with persons sharing similar interests and with whom we expect to maintain a relationship over time. The relationships that evolve might range from the occasional exchange of information and making
Team “C” was hired by Riordan Manufacturing management to overhaul the security features currently employed by the company. Management outlined a comprehensive plan that included a complete hardware refresh, security best practices and end user training. Team “C” will devote resources to assess the physical and network security issues and concerns at each Riordan plant. Once those have been identified, Team “C” will identify the data security issues and concerns present at each Riordan plant. Finally, Team “C” will address web security issues and concerns present at each Riordan plant and recommend a way forward for the company.
Throughout my career history I have been able to establish and maintain relationships with customers, employees of the financial industry, departmental staff, and other government agencies.

The characteristics of the business network according to the map are, define the type of network that you fear as your network connects to other networks. When creating a business network, the easy way is through the similarities choosing people who look like you, and this facilitates confidence, recognizes the concepts of each other that increases the exchange of information and reaffirm your point of view, which feeds your pride. But these advantages reduce your chances of a return and may even become negative.
Sandra Braman describes a network in action as interconnection, the process of bringing together different networks “so that messages and data can flow between them in a way that is transparent, or unobservable, to the user” (2009, 193). Braman states these interconnected messages flow across many social structures, which she lists as “the community, the organization, and the network” (2009, 169). Presently, I am building my own professional network of interconnected social structures that will help me protect what is important to me: my future goal to work for the U.S. Foreign Service. Drawing from Braman’s idea of interconnected social structures, I will reflect on a variety of sources to support how my blossoming network of
Networking is a process that should be learned and can serve as an aid in your professional life.
23. Indicate how goal setting theory could be used to explain the results from failed organizational attempts to increase performance through performance based objective plans/targets?
Some of the problems that small businesses face include marketing, inflexibility, and employees. Small business owners often confuse marketing with advertising. Market refers to the people whom the business would like to target with their product or service. Majority of the business owners do not realize the importance of finding their niche market, which makes their target market to be very broad. Networking with other small business owners who have managed to succeed in their business would provide the business owner with invaluable insights. The business owner does not need to network with others in the same industry. By networking, the business owner would better understand how to narrow down and focus on their target market.
Managers and people can get things done by networking. Networks are organized connections between people with shared interests when they exchange information, enlist support and create alliances getting agreement with others on a course of action and joining forces to make it happen. It is an essential way of getting things done in organizations – it ensures that the informal organization works.
Personal and professional relationships are the catalysts of growth and success. Thus, it is important to constantly cultivate and develop your network, building new relationships and strengthening old bonds. The first step towards building an effective network is to assess your existing network for its strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. I found three major weaknesses in my network after conducting a thorough network self assessment - a very high percentage of inbred relations, lack of non-work interactions, and absence of relationships in the startup industry. To address these weaknesses in my current network, I developed and implemented a two week plan
