the assessment opportunities and strategies relevant to own role in the learning activities.
• Assessment for learning informs and promotes the achievement of all pupils. It encourages them to take responsibility for their own learning.
• The process involves explain learning outcomes to pupils, giving them feedback on their progress and enabling them to develop their self-assessment skills so that they are able reflect on and recognise their own achievements.
• This will usually start with pupils taking part in peer assessment to build up these skills and discuss their work before moving on to thinking about their own work.
• Pupils will need to be able to consider their learning carefully throughout the process and keep coming back to learning objective or what they are expected.

Things to notice during assessment:
1. Are the children confident at recognising coins and understanding their value?
2. How are the children working out the change from 30p?
3. How confident are the children at working out the change from 50p?
4. Can they show you the correct change using the money?
Personalised goal for individual learners
Each child will have different personalised goal like to write the numbers within the square, to write 2 in a correct way, to write 5 in a correct way. They
Assessment plays a significant role in the learning experience of students. It determines their progression through their programmes and enables them to demonstrate that they have achieved the intended learning outcomes. It is assessment that provides the main basis for public recognition of achievement, through the awarding of qualifications and/or credit.
Peer and Self Assessment is an effective way to get the learners involved and it gives a clear idea of what the learner is currently at and what action is needed to meet the standards and criteria. This can be done through feedback.
I also must check the pupils work, if necessary help them to catch up, encourage them to correct their own mistakes and provide them with support to learn independently. In order to do that I must develop a positive working relationship with the pupils. That can be achieved by listening to them, gaining their trust and confidence, always respecting and valuing them, knowing that children must be safe at all times.
The assessments have been done during and after the lesson in a variety of ways; verbal response, written response, pair and group work, and making posters as a visual outcome.
Haydn (2009 cited in Capel et al 2009 page 329) defines assessment as "all those activities which are undertaken by teachers, and others, to measure the effectiveness of teaching and learning".
While observing students. Use a check list to formally assess students progress and understanding of the objective.
Assessment is carried out through formative (checks throughout the course), ipsative (to test against previous marks), and/ or summative (at end of course) activities to help the learner see their development whilst allowing the Assessor to give valuable feedback when appropriate. It’s purpose is to measure the learners understanding of the subject against the anticipated outcomes set by the criteria.
The class teachers’ main role is to monitor and assess pupils’ achievement. They need to be aware of the progression made by all the children in their class and be able to report back to both the parents and other staff. As a Teaching assistant my main role is to support the class teacher whilst this ongoing assessment of pupils takes place. The teacher can measure the progress of each pupil by carrying out lessons and setting the children clear objectives. At the start of each lesson so that the children are clear about the objectives the class teacher writes
3.4 In order to support pupils using formative assessment it is necessary to ensure all pupils are clear of the learning intentions of the lesson. They also need to know the reason that they are learning it and the assessment that will take place. A discussion with them will make sure that all this is clear. Success
This artifact portrays the ability of students to self and peer assess during learning activities. “Self-assessment is more accurately defined as a process by which students 1) monitor and evaluate the quality of their thinking and behavior when learning and 2) identify strategies that improve their understanding and skills (McMillian and Hearn, 2008).” This particular activity was part of a larger learning target.
The function of assessment in learning and development is to provide a measurable way of planning and supporting students’ progress. Assessment is carried out by means of checks and tests carried out throughout the course. Assessors should provide feedback throughout ensuring that learning is occurring and the learner is at the correct level. It is also important that assessor’s decisions are also consistently reviewed and internally and externally verified.
This kind of observation helps the educators keep evidence of the students status and progress. Teachers can collect as much information as they want from students through multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank and short answers tests. Another way how educators can collect information is by drawings and writings. Some of the strengths of work products are that these products can be collected individually or in group. At the same time, these products can be compared throughout a short period of time. While a child is using materials, educators can evaluate children’s steps of learning and progress based on a determined goal. The ability of take another child’s perspectives is one work product limitation that students do not have the opportunity to be assessed on. In addition, it is very difficult for educators to decide how many and which examples she or he has to save (McAfee & Leong,
In this evidence you will need to explain your understanding of the principles and requirements of your assessment practices. 1. Explain how peer and self assessment can be used to promote effective learner involvement in the assessment process, what are the benefits of learners taking ownership and responsibility for their learning journey:It is important to involve learners
Teachers conduct ongoing assessment of pupils “progress, evaluate their achievement, and report results to pupils and their parents regularly.
