Evaluating Stitch Fix
As a woman I can testify that finding the perfect outfit is never easy. I am capable of recognizing appealing styles on others but I lack confidence when it comes to shopping for myself. With this in mind I recently signed up with a company whose goal is to take away the stresses of hunting for an ideal wardrobe. The success of this business could make countless women very happy. The best part is, it’s not too good to be true. Stitch Fix involves setting up an account, reserving a date to receive a “fix,” then reviewing the items sent by your stylist and deciding if it is all worth the cost.
Similar to Peterson who did a review for the Business Insider, I went to Stichfix.com and filled in my personal information including details about what sizes I wear, the styles I prefer and questions about my lifestyle. Even though these details are necessary for the stylist to build the best profile, I couldn’t help but agree with Peterson when she says, “The survey was so involved that it felt like I was filling out an online dating profile.” On top of completing the questionnaire I also created a Pinterest board full of different style ideas

"The algorithm will often be better than a stylist in determining what a customer will like," Lake said. The technology understands written feedback, in addition to rating systems. "Our systems need to recommend the maternity line when she says she's in her 'third trimester,' identify a medical professional when she writes that she 'used to wear scrubs to work,' and distill 'taking a trip' into a Fix for vacation clothing," writes Stitch Fix's Chris Moody in a blog post on how the technology works.
Which gives an explanation for the in-depth questionnaires and request for constant feedback to help improve the Stitch Fix

Fashion has been a prominent aspect of a woman’s life throughout time. Women of different times and cultures have turned the routine of picking out clothes and putting together different ensembles into a sort of art, or a way to express and promote themselves. Many women also see fashion as part of their identity, or a way to manipulate the way people see them. What a woman wears can drastically change the way society views her - it can increase her chances of getting a job, or make her gain respect (or rejection) from her peers (Sika n.p.).
As two separate companies, they have established a different approach towards the market, however with the right research and evaluation, Rousteing and The Bay have beautifully managed to make both sides collide with success. They have managed to design ready-to-wear for different target groups, for example, women’s outerwear shoes, men’s business attire, jewellery, as well as the latest Balmain Army collection inspired by Rousteing himself. They have made the price range of the products in the listed categories reasonable and affordable for premium quality clothing, accessories and footwear for both genders that are quality and price conscious. Also, in Toronto and Vancouver, The Bay has launched a showroom called “The Room” that features some of Balmain’s hottest but not-so-retail-friendly designer clothing from Rousteing’s runway collection. With the stratospheric prices, these items are obviously in display for the more sophisticated young female adults that completely disregard the price tag when they see something they genuinely adore. However, this was also an intelligent way for Rousteing and The Bay to promote their collection by giving the people of middle-class families to feel and take a closer glimpse of some high-quality handiwork. This makes the women of the demographic target market want to know what else Balmain has in store at The Bay, that is of similar quality, but with a more affordable

Locating desired merchandise: I found that locating the desired merchandise, khaki pants, was a little difficult. Once I navigated to the women’s pants section I found that J. Crew had broken up the pants into the way they fit. I had no way to refine my search on this page. However, when I typed exactly what merchandise I was looking for in the search bar on the home page I was able to find the khaki pants quickly. Also, when I used the search bar I was able to refine my search with tabs reading women, men, girl, or boys.
One of the fìnal clues in the story, the irregular stitching in Minnie’s quilt patches, connects immediately with Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters. In the late nineteenth century, explains Elaine Hedges, small, exact stitches were valued not only for their durability. They became a badge of one’s prowess with the needle, a source of self-respect and of prestige, through the recognition and approval of other women
