1 Peter 2:13-24 Exegetical Idea - Peter told the persecuted church in Asia minor to submit to unjust governing authority by following the example of Christ’s suffering.
Pedagogical Idea - When students question their faith because it feels like the world is against them, students need to show the love of God and follow His commands by honoring those in authority over them.

Cognitive Aim (head)
Students will learn about the church being persecuted by the Roman Government and the example Christ set for them as a suffering servant by reading 1 Peter 2:13-24.
Affective Aim (heart)
Students will be convinced of the need to stand firm in their faith through hardships by honoring their authorities.
Behavioral Aim (hands)
Students will apply the example of Christ’s suffering as they intentionally honor an individual they struggle to respect by doing an act of service for them.

When people spoke poorly of him he did not speak poorly of them in return and when he suffered he did not try an bring his trials upon others. His example is what we should seek to follow. Christ did not trust in his own actions to bring justice to the unjust situations. Instead, Christ trusted in his father to provide him the justice that he is due. Likewise, we should look and trust that God will bring justice whether it is in this world or the one to come. In today’s society it is hard to be a teacher; especially, in a secular school. The students in this setting need Christian teachers more than anything. The children today need to have a teacher that has biblical values and understands just how important it is to live by these values. Before stepping foot into a classroom, a teacher really needs to understand that each child’s worldview will make a difference as to how the teacher leads her instruction and how the students processes the instruction that is given to them. We are there to encourage our students to take a good look at them self and really examine what they believe their worldview is. This being said, we really need to understand what a worldview is, why integrating our worldview into the classroom is so important, what it really means when someone talk about integrating, and how a teacher can begin to develop worldview integrative activities in a secular and Christian school environment.
From the third to the fourth century, the Roman Empire witnessed a widespread attempt to stop the spread of Christianity. Initially, leaders of the church were predominately targeted, but later anyone admitting to Christianity became a target. The persecutions hit a climax during Diocletian’s reign. These persecutions actually helped the spread of Christianity by glorifying Christians and beginning a tradition of martyrdom that shaped the Church, and the strength that Christians displayed shows that the persecutions could not have possible stopped the spread of Christianity.

It seems strange that so little is known biographically about one of the most important figures in Christian history, but this only serves to add to the mystery and grandeur surrounding the Apostle Paul of Tarsus. Much, however, is known of the time after his conversion to Christ and what he did to contribute to Christianity in this period, and it is this that leaves a greater legacy than the simple facts of his life. Gods kindness helps humans to repent for their sins however, those to be judged have no place to judge others.
The objective of this study is to examine Christian persecution first by beginning in Greece and Rome in the ancient world. Jews were people that dressed differently, spoke differently and were even labeled as atheists due to their lack of a belief in any of the Greek or Roman gods or goddesses. The Jewish people were referred to as 'enemies of the human race' since the foods that they ate were different and they did not mingle in with others in social activities. Even more hated in the mainstream society were the Christians especially those who lived and became martyrs around the year A.D. 155. During this time, a persecution arose against Christians in Asia Minor with many of these becoming martyrs for the Christian faith.

As I stated earlier in my book; after all I have been through I still have joy; I passed the test and now I have a testimony to share with you how I was kept by God. It was God that kept me in the mist of my storms, it keeps me from all harm, it kept me in my weakness, and it taught me to be strong. As I prayed and read the Word of God daily it helped me to be strong in my faith in order to overcome the stresses in my life. It helped me to understand that suffering is a part of growth and development. Suffering will give you courage and comfort in Christ knowing that He is the author and finisher of our faith. Paul tells us in Philippians 1:29 that “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, since you are going through the same struggle you saw…” In other words we are not the only one who will suffer in life; it is through our suffering that God uses our pain as an example to strengthen and encouragement others. It can be very difficult sometimes to share with others what you have been through without getting funny look or a strange response. I remember the time when I shared a situation with a friend and after I shared my story the person response was “things always seems to happen to you; maybe you are during something wrong?” I became troubled by their response to the point that I began to have flashbacks of some of the things that I encountered over the years.
