The Canterbury Tales was written by Geoffrey Chaucer, referred to a group of people who traveling to Canterbury (England). Each Pilgrim agreed to tell tales on a round journey to Canterbury. In the story, the Wife of Bath and a Pardoner both blackmail other people money by engaging through others guilt. In addition, based on the scriptures, the wife of Bath and the pardoner has proven and defends themselves. However, the Wife of Bath is not a fraud like the Pardoner. It’s interesting how Chaucer presents a Christian character through the Wife of bath instead of a representative of a church, the Pardoner.
