"You are the creator of your own reality, and life can show up in no other way for you than the way in which you think it will.”
Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue by Neal Walsh
Failure has commonly been seen as something people do not want to face, as the worst someone can confront. The society we live in today has directly related failure to negative thoughts and disappointment, being one of the main reasons for surrendering on one’s dreams or goals. It was only through a harsh experience that I learned that failure is strictly the contrary to the pre-established ideas given by society. It is the most effective motivator and the most beautiful sign of a bright future to come. It represents having tried, which is the first and most important step that needs to be taken in order to achieve our goals. It serves as a mean to acquire the most valuable information of what was rightfully done and what needs to be improved in order to succeed. It all comes down to the way in which each and every one of us decides to use the failures we face, because they can either lead us to our own self-surrender

And that is all there really is, one’s choice on how to view or use the abilities and qualities we have, as well as the knowledge and lessons we come to learn. Because our future and our accomplishments do not rely on the world we face or the society we live in, they don’t come from our ability to be the best and always succeed, but from the capacity to acknowledge that with whatever we are and whatever we have, is more than
From the time a child is born to the day that they die, they will be told countless times to dream big. People tell them to reach for the stars and pursue the things that make them happy. Something they do not tell them is how powerful failure can be; how it can alter a person’s perspective on life and the direction they think they need to go with their future. Ever since I was a little girl my life’s goal in the FFA was to become a State FFA Officer. The concept of being able to positively impact someone’s life and promote an industry that I believe in whole-heartedly got my blood pumping. I was not prepared for failure, I only thought about success.
We have all failed at something in life. Whether it be tests, projects, sports, or closing a business deal, everyone will experience crippling failure at some point in their life. Depending on how hard the fall is, getting back up from a fail in anything can be a bit arduous. According to the article In Defense of Failure, “America allows room for its citizens to fail - and if they don’t succeed, to try and try again” (Megan Ardle). This shows that when we permit anyone to make room for failure, we gain insight on how to make the next step on leading people to success at any given task. As the paralyzing pressure of molding to the ways of society rise, more people strain themselves trying to attain success based on other people’s past achievements. This can put a high amount of pressure on anyone to live up to someone else instead of going out and achieving their own success story. If society became more tolerable of failure, more people may actually try to get back up and succeed on their own account.
Today, I eat lunch with friends, I find comfort in my clubs, and sometimes, I fail. When I lived in Florida, I never had to cope with failure, as everything came to me easily. What I know now is that failure is an unavoidable aspect of life, and I know I’ll encounter it wherever I end up. When I moved up the East Coast, I learned how to face failure head on and accept that there are days when I can’t be perfect. But I am now able to learn from my failures and keep them in mind when moving
Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance next time”. This following quote represents that failing can give you motivation for something, like how Malcolm X did in the black civil rights movement. Not only Malcolm X reflected on this, but the other civil rights activists had to go through years in prison, signs, and non-stop slavery. they stood their ground on freedom and tried even harder to earn it when failing to.
Failure is a process that can determine one’s character. It is a process needed in order to be successful. Through life people approach failure in various manners. For example, there are people who sulk, people who pretend, people who repeat, and
. . paralyze [mavericks, dissenters, and dreamers] by insisting that every step be a step up to the next rung of the ladder.” I completely agree. To tell people that have potential, ability, and talent, that they ought to succeed without ever tasting failure, this is not only unrealistic but also deprecating. In so doing, we hold them back; for we do not tell them about all the times that things did not go according to plan. Additionally, we do not tell them about our missteps; we only tell them about our achievements. Parents say “Don’t fail!” and cause their children to become more prone to deficiency. This is why we must let it be known that failure is a part of life, and that to go through it simply helps to eliminate paths that will not lead to
This quote is so valuable and poignant to me because it tells a story, not through words, but through its depiction of life, as it illustrates spirit, a desire to stand and fight, and it is these core concepts that determine who we are. Hence, my personal connection to this quote as I believe it is one’s choices, not fate, nor destiny that
Failing is not a pleasant feeling in the world, but there’s no other way around it then to learn from it and to get back up again. From our experiences, humans learn what to do and what not to the next time people try it again. In this world, humans must be able to get out of their comfort zone and fight against their will to give up in order to deepen their understanding of the world. In order for individuals to learn more, humans must develop a way to go beyond what is
There are times we are called to undertake tasks where the chance of success is low. The task, however, must still be attempted. We must still strive for success even when it is unlikely or even impossible. If you do not understand that, you should not be here.”
“Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes”- Oscar Wilde. This quote means that if you don’t mess up a few times, then you can’t improve on what you are doing. Failure is a very important aspect in life. It can seem like it’s out to get you, but if you know how to use it to your advantage, it can really help you. For example, the three texts, “Are You A Loser?,” “Finding A Joy in Overcoming Obstacles,” and the poem “Invictus” teach us that we need failure to expand our knowledge, give us resilience to succeed, and give us knowledge on how to react to failure.
When you look at young children, they always seem so carefree, and fearless. Well, that’s because they are. They aren’t afraid to climb that thirty foot tall tree in their backyard and they aren’t afraid to cannonball into the lake, because they know that if they do stumble or fall they can easily get back up and keep going. Some children cry, and parents will soothe them telling that it’s okay and that everything is alright. When these children grow up, the tall trees turn into grades, internships, relationships, competitions, etc., but that doesn’t mean that the soothing and advice should stop. When the acceptance of failure is not only taught, but also practiced, the person who has done the failing is more likely to get back up and try again. I admire those who have continued to fail, change, and continue to try towards their goals. By failing, you can develop acceptance, determination, open-mindedness, and the chance to become a more humble
This statement expresses that one moment, one event does not define an individual, but a lifetime of experiences, trials and tribulations, sadness and joy, sickness and health, shape our decisions tomorrow. Only with that understanding can we be whole and centered.
Failure is something that we cannot go through life without experiencing. The best thing about failure is that failure can be used as a great learning experience to improve upon things in our lives and career. Using failure as a learning tool is dependent upon the person and how they view it as well as how they use it. Failure is a matter of perspective and the lessons in failure are important aspects towards growth and development. If we did not experience failure there wouldn’t be opportunities for learning. Failure can teach us about ourselves as well as provide an understanding for our
This quote is significant to me ,because often many people give up.I believe this quote also represents how much we don’t know. Many are too afraid to question things and this is why many brilliant minds never succeed.I also believe that this quote is a way of life and it is how i feel i want to live or be remembered as living. This quote also comes from someone who i believe was not only intelligent but very as some may say complex and brilliant in many ways.
Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one’s position in wanting to achieve the particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and the whether the obstacles are surmountable.
