Moving from problems to solutions requires critical thinking skills. We confront problems in every aspect of our lives. We deal with them at school in the form of math equations, science problems, etc. We also deal with them at work in the form of finding better or new ways in performing certain aspects of our jobs. Lastly we have to deal with personal problems.
We all encounter problems in our lives. How we choose to deal with them can determine our success or failure in overcoming problems. To succeed, one needs to face the problem head on, focus on solutions, and implement the best plan. Failure occurs when we focus on the problem and neglect or fail to consider viable options for overcoming the problem. So how do we solve problems,

Determining my audience and choosing a subject that would appeal to them. For this essay the intended audience were the professor and other college students. After determining the subject, a thesis was developed, and supporting ideas were recorded. Research was completed to support the thesis. The prewriting strategy used for this assignment was to use free writing to captured ideas and content. For this essay thought was given on how to deliver the message. I identified and developed my thesis by considering a subject that would be interesting and useful. I feel the content of my paper supported my thesis. I completed three reviews and two revisions in completing my essay. In conducting proof reading I read my paper aloud, and had my wife read it to too for feedback on content, flow, spelling and grammar. I also used my computers spell checker and refereed to a thesaurus in writing this …show more content…

The best way to deal with problems is to focus on solutions, and not on the problems. When faced with a problem one first has to identify the problem. Identifying the problem allows for the next step which is to develop possible solutions. Developing solutions consists of nothing more than asking questions related to how to solve the problem. After all the questions have been asked, the next step is to choose the best solution. The last step is to execute the best solution chosen. (Problem Solving,
Throughout the past couple of months my fellow peers and I have been studying the topic ‘challenge’ and how it affects our lives and people around us. In our everyday lives we are confronting challenges, some are as small as walking up a few steps, and some are larger and more challenging that could be life or death circumstances.
Define the Problem: Describe the type of case and what problem(s) or issue(s) should be the focus for
Addressing problems means more than quick fixes; it means dealing with conditions that create problems.
In order for any problem to be solve first a person or persons have to know the root of the cause. According to
If I am having trouble I, can pause and reassess my strategy plan. A problem is a chance to try my best. It trains me to solve problems. It makes me think about different ways to solve a problem. It makes me work diligently on that specific issue. Problems teach me many things, and I try to work very hard to achieve the goal solving the problem.
The key part in the whole solution would be to combat the problem that lies
learning issue envisages to focus on these issues and determine options to deal with it.
Since we have to face different problems every day, it is important for us to find an effective way to solve a problem. We usually have two typical ways to solve a problem - looking for simple fixes or analyzing all aspects of a problem. From chapter 4 of the book Superfreakonomics, the authors mainly use plenty of stories to suggest effective ways to solve a problem. For these two ways, I prefer to choose the way of analyzing all aspects of a problem to solve a problem. Usually, the true root cause of a problem is difficult to figure out with some simple thoughts. The fact is that analyzing all aspects of a problem is a better way for people to completely discover the cause and consider
There are many different strategies that good problem solvers use to solve a problem. The steps of the problem solving process are systematic and organized. First, take your time and identify the problem very carefully. Do the research, and become informed about your subject. Few good problem solvers solve problems fast. Life choices need to be supported with well thought-out
solution to any problem, there are multiple that needs to be put together to make one
As leaders, we find ourselves in everyday situations where we need to make decisions to solve problems. These problems might be larger or small in size. Some can take months or years to implement while some problems need to be solved immediately. In all the examples I’ve examined and read, not many of them deal with issues needing immediate resolution. That is why I chose a recent problem that needed immediate problem solving and resolution.
Figure 3 – The approach to problems: reactive, preventive, proactive The path towards excellence is characterized by an increasing level of complexity: experience is gradually accumulated and successful cases are implemented, more difficult problems are addressed and involvement of the plant is extended. Problems are addressed at three levels. First is reactive – Once the problem has emerged, corrective measures are adopted. Second is
As a student at my institution, in pursuit of my electrical engineering degree, my professor would always make the statement “As an engineer, you will be paid to solve problems.” After graduating, and entering the workforce, I realized that there really wasn’t a proper method of solving problems in order to achieve solutions for the team’s problems. I am currently working on a project, and have noticed many counterproductive steps in the process of solving the problems. Starting off, the first two steps I encountered were 1.) Denying the problem and 2.) Ignoring the problem. My department encountered many problems on each machine over a period of time. Instead of investigating the root cause of the issues, Information Technology and the software team was charged with the blame for the issues that were occurring. This leads to step 3.) Blaming others for their problem. After constantly receiving complaints from different mechanics within the corporation, we finally scheduled a meeting. At the meeting there were more than 30 people present, and it was not productive due to multiple people expressing their thoughts and concerns at one time. This is give the perfect step 4.) Having too many people. This type of meeting resulted in step 5.) Believing the problem did not have a solution that could be implemented in time for production. It seemed as if the project was corrupt before it even began, because
Knowledge can exists as either an internal state or an external reality. It is classified as information, skill and facts which are acquired through various experiences and allow us to have a theoretical understanding of something, however, it can also be an awareness gained by an experience. Producing knowledge implies to come up with new undiscovered knowledge, which can either be personal or shared knowledge. Problems are a situation or matter regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome. Problems can be defined as short term or long term, universality or specific, naturally occurring or human created, therefore solutions could also either by immediate or long term. The apparent solution might possibly even
