As I attended my second day of college, at the end of the day I had to attend Freshman Composition one. Professor Jill had informed us last lesson to bring in ten sentences for homework, or otherwise we would be marked absent. I then told myself that I must always be punctual in completing the task given, or my attendance would drop creating issues. On the next day, I went into class with all my heavy books, those that we might use and others I worry that will be needed. The bright classroom was filled with florescent lights, bothering my eyes. Uncomfortable green colored chairs and a massive grey garbage that seemed to stand out. I was so tired after finishing my first two classes of the day that not as usual, I got a headache from the bright …show more content…
My interviewee is now working on his degree, to be able to progress further towards his career. John has already received his high school diploma Puerto Rico from Dr. Juan Jose Osana in 2009, a specialist school in radio and television that he attended for four years. Jan enjoyed his time at the school, and he was mostly fond of his writing class, which strengthened his communication skills and written language, which has allowed him to progress onto a job as a producer at Walt Disney World. John’s most admired professor at school was Professor Abimael Acosta; Jan stated that he’s one of the best teachers in radio and television, and the professor was also the most encouraging during faulty times; thus, allowing Jan to have confidence in his writing, and build great public speaking skills. Without the help of his professor, Jan could have never learned how to write creatively, and allow success in radio and television. John is now studying at UCF to complete a degree in general communication, to give him a chance to build a career in The United States Of America as a producer and publicist. John is both a full time student and a full time producer at Walt Disney World. He is also a publicist for models, celebrities, and actors from his home country in Puerto Rico. John helps them to get jobs in The United States Of America for their benefit. Jan also arranges photo-shoots for the models; organising the location, …show more content…
Jan has a bucket list that he hopes to successfully complete. John hopes to visit his grandfather Enrique Vargas and have the chance to explore his town, in Napoli, Italy, because he wants to see where his grandfather was raised, and what the culture, is like in Italy, and learn about it. Jan hopes to enrich himself in the tradition of the city, growing in knowledge of culture. He also is interested in learning how to make fresh Italian pasta from scratch; just like his grandfather used to. John also would like to go to parachuting one day; however, he is scared of heights; John wants to hopefully overcome his fear of heights and overlook the land from the sky above. John also has future career goals, of working in London, as it has always been one of his dreams. John sees London as the one most beautiful cities in the world; he enjoys watching BBC programs, mostly programs that talk about the Royal Family Of The United Kingdom as he loves the Royal Family and hopes to visit Buckingham Place one day. Jan has dreams wider than those to accomplish in the United Kingdom. He aims to become a successful, well known producer, and publicist in London. If Jan won a million dollars in the lottery the first thing Jan will do is buy a big house for Lilliam Vergas, whom is his mother, as she still
I cant believe that I am finally a senior in high school it seems just like yesterday I was beginning high school. As I begin my final year I am beginning to realize that this year I will be faced with many responsibilities and will make tons of memories. But I hope that I am able to make my senior year the best yet. Through this final year I hope to have passing grades in all of my classes, to win pep rallies, and to have perfect attendance.
A student's job is not done after the end of the day. There is always homework that still needs done or checked, editing a paper, studying for the test that is coming up next week, doing their own notes for chapters they read, reading textbooks, and trying to have a social life. They are still trying maintain good grades as best as they can. During all this pressure for freshman year college students tend to forget their roles in the classroom, responsibilities, and having mental and physical impediments for their learning. Students have the constant worries and fears but it still bad when getting yelled at by their parents, teachers, and their school for lack of engagement in the classroom. By helping the freshman year college students, it
Freshman 101 is a class adapted from the parrot program (Fay & Medway, 2006, p. 226). The parrot program was designed for college students at Cornell University. Freshman 101 is the first of its kind in the state of South Carolina and the first to extend Parrot’s college program to high school freshmen (p. 226). Each two-hour intervention class contained 25 to 30 freshmen students. The objectives of the class were to have participants understand the definition of acquaintance rape and the frequency that it takes place along with South Carolina’s laws regarding rape (p. 226). Students also learned about mixed messages associated with verbal and non-verbal communication and how to clearly state their wants and desires (p. 227). Communication,
Coming from being a junior in high school to now being a senior. Senior in high school is going to be one of the most favorite and scariest parts of my life. Everyone says that it is one of the biggest part of your life. They say senior year will be one of my favorite memories. My expectations for high school amounts to worrying about deadlines for my high school projects, everyone asking about where I will be attending college, and trying to figure out what I am going to do with the rest of my life.
Sophomore year had ended, and my summer had just begun. After a long wait to gain permission to go on a backpacking trip. My father gave me the approval. I took my love for the outdoors and began to explore it even more.
We all regret some of the choices we’ve had in the beginning of our high school journey. Since we can’t go back and change them, we can always give advice to the incoming freshman who may need our advice. Coming from middle school can be a hard transition because there are so many new things to learn. New students will face a new campus, teachers, friends, and overall a new way of life. I believe that freshman students who struggle to adapt into high school can lead to poor grades, peer pressure, and losing focus of long term goals. Here are some suggestions to help incoming freshman have a successful high school experience.
Senior year of high school is finally here. I am quite nervous about this year and especially what follows throughout the year. Most seniors in high school are excited for the year and have a plan and just know what they are going to do when they graduate. But honestly, I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I'm just worried about today, and my health, and lifestyle and just trying to make my senior year a great year.
My first day of senior year had been just like every other year, except my schedule was very basic. The goals I had in mind were mainly outside of my time in school. I had been taking college courses online to better prepare myself for college and to eliminate costs in classes, so I had to make sure I passed all of them. Another goal had been to save money from my job to accomplish personal goals after I exit high school.
If someone ask me what is my favorite memories in high school for now. I’ll says that is my sophomore year. Because sophomore year is the year that changed my mind and my life, the year that I meet my awesome friend and everyone look at me a different way and here is what happened to my sophomore year.
My senior year is coming to an end, high school is pretty much over. With the finish line quickly approaching, I reflect on all the things I’ve done in these past four years and, more importantly, all the things I did not do in the past four years that I probably should have. In retrospect, I never did feel like high school was going to be where the best time of my life would be remembered, but now that it’s pretty much over I think maybe I should have treated it like it was. I would love to be able to say there is nothing I didn’t do that I wanted to and that I didn’t have any regrets, but there is a fair share of both. When I think too much about the end, I get sentimental about the experiences, friends, laughs, awkward moments, and more.
That makes it hard to breathe. That summer, the instructors and the upperclassmen put the cadets through physical tests that test their problem solving and leadership skills. His first ride in a military jet was during his freshman year. He flew in a Lockheed T-33 (109-115). The summer before his sophomore year, he went through survival training. It was called SERE training, which stood for “survival, evasion, resistance, and escape.” It was designed to teach them skills if they were captured, how to not be captured, and just basic survival skills. By sophomore year, Sully realized how all of the skills he had learned helped him mature. His sophomore year, Sully got an outstanding amount of flying experience and instruction. He signed up to
This year in Student Government has been a great time. All of our hard work and commitment has definitely reflected in our success and outcomes of our events. I have learned so much in such a short time. Since I have more experience now from Freshman year, I am eager for what is to come my Sophomore year. In order for this next year to be as rewarding as this past one, there are a few things I think we should do to make the transition of a new teacher as smooth as possible. I think if we adjust the commissioner jobs, are open to new ideas brought by our new teacher, and have specific goals set at our summer meeting, we will have no problem staying on track next year.
Welcome incoming Freshmen! The start of a new chapter is soon to begin. Although college may sound scary to several it sounds exciting to others. Though college it is yet to be the best experience anyone can take. If college is not on your list or if you are just undecided about whether you should attend college or not, just remember and keep in mind that it never hurts to try anything new. People who have mentioned college not comparing to high school are right. Becoming a college student means giving up a great amount of your free time. College can be tough, but continue reading for advice on how to achieve college or life goals.
Senior year: you never see it coming. Before you start high school, you are told that the next four years of your life will be the best times. You are also told that those same 4 years will go by faster than you expect. Going into highschool I never expected it to go by fast. I thought these amazing four years of my life were going to drag on forever. Now I realize that is far from true. I am now a second semester senior and the time clock is almost to zero. Joining orchesis was one of the best things I could have ever done in high school. Being involved in something makes senior year that much harder. Everything you do is your last. You know you're a senior when it is time for you to make the senior chant for show.
