Global warming
Global warming is defined as the global increase in the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. According to NASA, January 2016 was the hottest January as it was 1.13 degrees Celsius above the 1951-1980 average (Erdman, 2016). Humans participate in increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases that act like a blanket that traps the heat. And this appear from the combustion of fossil fuel and the different industries which release a large amount of CO2. Moreover, cutting millions of trees to provide there different needs such as: papers and furniture. In fact, trees play a critical role in decreasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere through using it in the photosynthesis process. As reported by Union of Concerned Scientists that CO2 today are 25% higher than in 1957. Due to the releasing of CO2 and chlorofluorocarbons to the atmosphere that lead to ozone layer depletion, more sunlight is passing to the earth surface. In addition, the natural disaster has the role in rising the temperature, for example: volcanoes. This essay will state the scientific problems of climate change and how it threatens the life of organisms. Also, it will suggest solutions for this problem.
One of the clearest impact of global warming is the rising of the sea level due to the Antarctica melting. In fact, around 90 percent of the Earth’s ice is in Antarctica and because it is becoming warmer it would lead to raise the sea level by nearly 3.5
We ask ourselves how might human activities have affected global climate change? Well human activities contribute to climate by causing changes in earth's atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases and cloudiness. Mostly it is burning fossil fuels. This releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere. There are many ways that the humans can affect our environment. Deforestation, burning fossil fuels, and hydrocarbons are ways this can affect. In this paper i will explain how each one contributes to global warming. I will support my discussion with evidence and consequences of the effects of each activity. It will also have alternate energy and solutions included that are most sustainable in our area.
In recent years, global climate change due to global warming has been largely researched. The paper, “Global Climate Change Triggered by Global Warming,” offers compelling evidence from various scientific papers that the process of Earth’s climate undergoing significant change has already begun and requires our attention due to the probability that human-generated greenhouse gases are the primary cause. Major focal points are shifting towards determining the causes to mitigate the effects rather than establishing the existence as sufficient amount of evidence has proven that global warming is indisputable. During the final decade of the 20th century, climatologists have concluded that the past millennium to be the warmest, especially in the year of 2005. Solutions towards the cause would require assistance from the population as a whole.
Climate change is a problem that we have been and are currently experiencing. It has caused much damage to people and the environment, by temperatures rising and natural disasters. It is a problem that world leaders need to take more seriously, and try to get more people involved to help better the environment. Who knows what it can cause in the future. Climate change is a serious threat for everyone living on earth.
Climate change is one of the most talked-about topics since the past two decades. The planet and its habitants are suffering from this change and, at first sight, people think that they are the only affected by climate change, but this thought is incorrect. In fact, the fauna and flora, and of course the weather are also affected. To combat these problems, many scientists are trying to analyze the behavior of the animals and of the plants to see their reactions to its changes, 195 countries try to find solutions to slow down this phenomenon at the Conference of the Parties every year, awareness campaigns are launched so that citizens can contribute to this slowdown and many more. Many disasters are caused by global warming and this is likely
The earth as we know it is steadily changing. Weather its evolution, technology, weather or our environment, nothings is what it used to be. Climate is a major factor that is changing. This has been going on for quite some time yet, not taken seriously. Our planet has been much warmer in the past 2 centuries then ever before and scientist are working frantically to reduce this trend,
One effect of global warming is sea level rise. Water expands when it is warmer. Because of the overall temperature increase on Earth, the oceans are expanding and therefore causing the sea levels to rise.
One impact of climate change is rising seas levels. Sea levels will rise because when the Earth heats up, the warmer water expands shrinking shorelines; a process called thermal expansion. In addition, when glaciers melt the problem is twofold, the glaciers will release fresh water into the oceans, submerging low-lying land, threatening dense coastal populations, eroding shorelines, desecrating property, and exterminating ecosystems
The ice melting will raise sea level. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, if the Antarctic Ice Sheet melted the sea level would rise by about 60 meters.
Climate change is a global problem that is affecting Earth’s delicate ecosystem. Many problems are present in our world today, such as starvation, flooding, heat waves, droughts and disease. These issues are likely to worsen as climate change takes its toll. In the past, the cause of this severe climate change was unknown. Today, it is known that manmade climate change is occurring. Scientists have discovered that humans have had the greatest impact on the Earth’s ecosystem. Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, are causing the Earth to get hotter. Although humans are not the only cause of climate change, we contribute to this world wide problem because of the actions we take, which if affecting us now and will continue to affect us in the future.
There is no myth concerning climate change, only vested interests arguing over humanities role in our current climate change event. By careful reasoning and logic this paper sets about systematically showing that not only is climate change real but that currently the planet is experiencing a period of warming that is without equal within any of our historical data. Most confronting of all is that humanity is significantly influencing this current event and has the ability to mitigate the consequences.
Did you know that Climate change is affecting people all around the world? Climate change is a very bad thing that has been going on for hundreds of years. So many things are being affected by climate change. Things that are being affected are trees, plants, animals, and even people. One reason that climate change is happening is that the earth is always in orbit so the climate is always changing. Climate change isn’t only nature, climate change is caused from humans, the sun, and animals. We are causing climate change by burning things. Scientists predicted this and they’re using models to predict climate change. Snow leopards in the Himalayas are dieing off. Asian Rhinos depend on floodplain grasslands and climate change changes the seasonal patterns the Rhinos go off of. Orang-utans are also one of the species at risk from deforestation. The ice that the Polar Bears use for homes are slowly starting to melt which means they are becoming more and more crowded.
Last but not least, global warming has caused the polar ice caps to melt. The melting of the polar ice caps will cause the sea levels to rise all over the world. If the sea levels rise just a metre
The effects and changes of global warming are many. Changes include rising sea levels due to melting of glaciers and at the Earth’s polar ice caps. Ice is melting worldwide in mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic Sea ice. Therefore the sea level has been rising faster of the last century. As a
In fact, since the beginning of the industrial revolution, human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and agriculture have caused the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere to increase substantially. A marked rise in the global temperature has been related to these human activities and CO2 emissions, and this temperature rise is believed to be the result of an enhancement of the natural Greenhouse effect. And as a result, global warming arises. This awareness has led many researchers to investigate possible causes and effects of this temperature rise. However, as much knowledge about the climate system is lacking, numerous researches on that issue have led to a great deal of debate. At the moment, the way the climate system will respond to these human activities is difficult to predict, for too many processes are not understood well enough. One absolute reality though is the fact that the global climate system will respond to increasing temperatures. Moreover, this response could have irreversible consequences for the habitability
One of the most serious effects of global warming, as it continues to intensify, is the increase in the ocean levels. Thermal expansion of the ocean and glacial melting are likely to cause a .5 to 1.5 meter rise in the ocean level by the year 2100. As the ocean level rises and if no protection is provided, many freshwater supplies could be jeopardized. Tens and possibly hundreds of millions of
