I have always had a passion for art and design. Starting around age seven I really started to enjoy drawing. I became very interested in picking an image and trying to replicate or recreate an image as close as I could. Once I got a little older I began taking a little more artistic control and began adding my own style to my drawings. Now I work every day to hone in and perfect my style while also keeping well versed in the other styles and types of drawing. I want to go to a school of art and design because that is my passion. I want nothing more in life than to be able to call my career enjoyable, not a job. I never want to work a day in my life, and with graphic design and drawing I can achieve that. I also want to work on my technical …show more content…
I enjoy graphic arts and some 3D sculpting the most, and Cleveland Institute of Art has some of the most advanced and state of the art equipment and programs as well as classes for that. The equipment and programs that this school offers for 3D sculpting is incredible, the 3D printers and all of the other things are mind blowing. I would love to be able to say that I could do sculpting for characters in movies or games in the future, as well as do graphic design work outside of sculpting characters. I was instantly drawn to Cleveland Institute of Art as soon as I saw photos of the Campus. Living in Ohio, Cleveland is one of my favorite places to be, and going to CIA would allow me to be there every day. I love the city and I would love to live on campus so that I could absorb all that it has to offer. I feel like I could greatly benefit from all of the amenities as well, including the 24 hour a day art studios. I’ve never seen a school have so many outlets for art and ways to communicate and intertwine with people of other majors to create something bigger and
I picked this career path because I enjoy drawing. I also enjoy designing and mapping out structures. I find both of these activities to be very peaceful and fun for me. When I was eight years old, I had the biggest set of Legos. I decided to use them all on one huge house. So I sat down, began to build and I even started mapping it out on paper. I spent nearly an entire day building this mansion and of course, when I was done, I showed my mom. When I showed it to her, she was amazed and the next sentence she spoke was one that stuck with me for years. My mom told me I should be an architect. That moment Nine years ago made me realize what I wanted to do in the future. I thought if designing buildings is a career, that’s what I’m going to do. Becoming an architect when I get out of school is a life-long goal of
My undergraduate degree is from the University of Missouri-Columbia in graphic design. When I left the University in December of 2011, I had big aspirations to work in the field of graphic design and for a company I loved. I found a company I loved in The Scout Guide, located in Charlottesville, VA, but realized my heart was not in the work I was doing on a daily basis. I did not like having to sit in front of a computer all day long with little interaction between clients and myself. I also did not feel my work was truly making any sort of impact in the world and wanted a career that would fill be up with a sense of purpose each day. While in college I was an active coach for the Special Olympics in Columbia, and later while living in Virginia, I became an active volunteer in a number of animal nonprofits. I realized my true passion was in the nonprofit sector and working towards a common goal for the good or the organization.
I wanted to be a traditional studio artist for a while but I was disuaded when I learned about just how hard it is to find success. I then wanted to be an art teacher. I at first wanted to teach little kids art as I could teach them about how fun it was to just sit and draw but at the same time I wanted to challenge people to think more abstractly or at the very least, to think more creatively, so I began considering doing art for older kids. Then I just figured out I’m not very personable or very patient to teach kids, of any age really. I began considering entirely different careers to follow, like a historian for example, but that was when I discovered video games. I’ve played video games before but I didn’t really figure that they were as complex upon initial inspection. What I mean is I looked at video games for a while as little more than maybe a board game and my line of thinking was “Well, people don’t have businesses like Monopoly Inc. or The Candyland Co. and i’ve never heard of any of the companies that popped up on the screens before the title card so ya.”
While desktop publishing and graphic design share many similarities, they are not the same. However, they do have some common capabilities and features, and that can lead to confusion for those who are not sure exactly what sets each apart from the other. Both desktop publishing and graphic design are processes used to bring creative things to life. Desktop is the process of using the computer and specific types of software to combine text and graphics to produce documents such as newsletters, brochures, books, etc. Graphic design, on the other hand, is the process and art of combining text and graphics and communicating an effective message in the design of logos, graphics, brochures, newsletters, posters, signs, and any other type of visual
After I completed my bachelor degree, I realized that nothing would be more important to me than being responsible for my own life. The next logical step for me was to drag myself to the right track. To do so, graduate school was definitely the ultimate decision. In order to furnish myself with essential knowledge of applied arts, I spent two more years studying digital art and design based on Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash, InDesign is currently under self-taught progress), sound design (Pro Tools), and video design and editing (Final Cut Pro) applications. I finished all of the chosen lab-based design courses with satisfactory grades.
New York City has always been a place where people migrate to, from all places, both from outside the United States and in. So many people come here because it is full of opportunity and chances to grow and change for a better life. Often what comes with that is art, art that shows the struggle and the joys that came out of their journey. It shows any emotion and reflects how the society viewed their journey. If the emotions and experiences from the time were positive, they produced very positive art, but more often than not the art reflected the hardships and the struggles that people went through. It’s much stronger to convey negative emotions, those are important to let out an outlet. It is often not only a way to vent out frustrations but get the point of those frustrations across.
Adobe is a building material crafted from both mud and other organic materials, usually. Buildings constructed from adobe bricks are similar to both rammed earth and cob buildings. Adobe is one of the most ancient materials utilized, globally.
Even though I have chosen my major in Interior Design, that doesn’t mean I’ve never thought of it worthwhile pursuing. I always had a dream about going to an Interior Design school ever since I was still in middle school. I knew I wanted to become an interior designer, because I grew up reading an Interior Design sketch book that my dad bought me for my birthday. Everytime I picked up a pencil and started to sketch on my sketch pad, I felt so right. The confusion of diagonal lines and the calculation of the dimension blew my mind away, and I always felt so great after doing these things. I used to spend my weekend with my dad to sketched the interior rooms of our house, and see what things I can do to make a difference. My dad would recommend
Growing up I've been asked a thousand times what I wanted to be. I never thought to this day I would still want to be an interior designer. When I was little my goal was to be this huge designer everyone knew. Now I'm trying to make that dream come true. My career pathway is business management and administration. Taking this pathway will help me achieve my career goal because it'll teach me how to own a business by the certain classes offered to me.
For the longest time, I thought that I was going to be a musician or an artist. I had my whole life planned out and college was simply a backup plan. I was going to move to a big city and live out my dream. I loved art, I
I have always had an interest in art. I enjoy drawing and painting, so naturally I would want to do something to incorporate those into the profession I have chosen. However, for much of my life, I wanted to be something that made an abundant amount of money to please my mother. My mother only wanted this for me to assure her that I would not be in the situation she has been in her entire life. Still to this day, she does not want me to become something that will provide little money, but I do not want to be any kind doctor, dentist, or lawyer. I want to do something that will make me the happiest in the end. Art makes me happy; therefore, I want to become a special effects makeup artist.
In my life, I’ve always tried to see the bigger picture and learn to soak every experience up that comes my way. It isn’t always so easy, but you must be strong enough to make it through those trials and tribulations. Over the span of my twenty years of life, I’ve always known to get what you want and to A goal, I must do everything possible to achieve that. It's no easy task, but everything is worth it in the end.
My goal for school is to go to college. I’m half way there, I got accepted into one of my colleges already. My goal in life is to be a graphic designer. I love everything about being a graphic designer, from thinking of an idea to make to actually making it from the vision inside my head. I currently go to Center for Technology in Essex. They have a program called Computer Animation and Web Page Design. They do a lot of 3D modeling, building websites, photography and a tad bit filming. I’ve been in this program for about two years. Since I have started I’ve been expanding my interests and have been more into computers and all the programs we use. Once I’m done with school, I hope to live in a town where it’s nice, calm, and not that loud, plus with good wifi because you kind of need it to be a graphic
When I was in high school, I always had a bigger picture for myself that I wanted to be a Nurse “Midwife” because I loved kids so much. But when it the time of my freshman year in college I realized that I wanted to fulfill my purpose I have a voice and I needed to show off my real talents in what I am more interested in and can enjoy my everyday life with the career that fitted me way more. Fashion came along and I just knew that after watching so many tv shows and designers that I just love so much I knew within my first part of my freshman year in college that would be the career I would love to strive for. I have worked on many projects not only just with clothing but showing off my leadership skills by telling a story that others’ lives
It’s sometimes- okay, almost always - hard for a person to answer the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Being asked this simple-sounding question so often by our friends, we begin to wonder and worry to the point where we’re terrified to even think about it anymore. Of course, as long as we’re working hard to achieve our goals, there’s nothing to fear. The key to staying calm while making such a decision that will decide our future is to break down the process of choosing into a few steps. Step one is to discover what our interests and hobbies are. No one wants to be stuck doing a job they hate. The next step is to look at what jobs include your interests (e.g., if you like animals and the care of them, you might consider becoming a veterinarian). After that, you’ll search for more details such as annual salary, employment rate, and the education you’ll need to know how to do the job right. This is exactly how I have discovered what I want to do when I grow up. My interests include drawing, painting, and basically everything under the category of art, so I find the illustrator’s career to be a dream come true. With a bit of thorough research, I’ve found the career that is right for me.
