Owning a gun is legal in the United States for self-defense or hunting or sports, and it’s the second amendment. However, in recent years, violence has significantly increased in the USA because of guns. There are more cases of children and young adults engaging in violence or getting caught in the crossfire. It is shameful to say that almost every day we hear about some gun violence. Guns can be used for self-defense or sports, however they also can be used for robbing, shooting and many other violent purposes. We can get safety and reduce crime rate by banning guns. These are the reasons why guns should be banned.

Did you know you are 4 times more likely to be killed with a knife or other cutting instrument than you are by a rifle or a shotgun? Gun rights and gun control are always hot items during any political discussion, whether it is between peers or politicians. One of the many great advantages to being an American is the ability to choose for one's own self what to believe in. Another advantage, in my opinion, is the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Laws should not restrict gun rights because first, it would infringe the second amendment, second, guns are a part of our culture, and finally, if guns were outlawed, citizens of the U.S. would become vulnerable.

With the popular culture providing positive images of guns, the United States has a gun prevalence that is very rare in the modern world. While many people appreciate the “gun culture”, guns are heavily involved in violence in the United States. According to U.S. Department of Justice, since 1960, more than 750,000 Americans have died under firearms, including homicides, suicides, and unintentional injuries. The argument of whether guns should be banned has become increasingly popular as more and more shootings occur. Since 2006 there have been thirty-two mass shootings in the United States alone. Numbers in murders and harm all around the United States have been rising due to guns. Rather it’s intentional or accidental the topic has blown up causing many arguments. I believe that guns should be banned in the United States, or at least have a stricter set of rules to them instead of a person being able to simply get a gun. There are over 300 million guns in the united states as of 2016 which translates to 93 guns per hundred people. living that's just in the united states there are 870 million known firearms throughout the world today. That doesn't count illegal guns no one known about like black market guns. Next i have found more crimes are committed with illegal guns or with people who aren't legally allowed to obtain guns because of crimes or any other reason. So now it comes down to why take it out on the percent of the population that do things legally and enjoy it.

But on the other side if lots of people have artilleries then it is likely some people that are not in the right mind will have one. Throughout the United States, gun control has become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide, and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of harming innocent people while declining the police’s power to establish safety in society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying its purpose to the public.

The gun laws are not the problem, it is the number of people not thinking while in possession of a firearm or intending to do harm to people with them. The one thing that we can do is make it where if a person buys multiple firearms within a certain amount of time that the person would be flagged and under watch more so than the way that they do now. This would help because if anyone is buying so many guns that are higher grade firearms than a sport or personal protection firearm they are more than likely to be up to something that is not good. Changing the laws will cause a huge mess and a costly one too. For there are already so many firearms out there in the country it is almost impossible to change and have the new laws implied to all the guns out in the country.
