Today in the 21 century HR is the pipeline for every organization. However, when you think of HR you really done think about how import they are in an organization being able to reach their goals. In relation to Target, the HR department is continuously involved in helping the organization with their strategy and achieving goals. No as a Team Leader within Target I cannot emphasize enough how important the HR department is important. From helping with recruitment, employee retention, total rewards, performance management, while also taking into consideration employee law with ever decision or situation the HR department supports and give an organizations strategy the foundation for success.

The leading action of administration “involves the manager’s efforts to activate high achievement by employees”. In an organization, this is handled by administering account evaluations of each advisers and having daily team meetings to communicate tasks that are being followed and completed to be sent to high management. This is additionally how administration supports the conception and aliment of an advantageous organizational culture in a company.

For example, someone who attended the same college or university as the recruiter would be at an advantage, while a person not wearing a suit would not be management material. It is often the case that people judge more favourably those individuals with whom they have something in common. Ultimately, you are seeking the best person for the job and any discrimination, intentional or not, may prevent you from achieving that.

There are obviously many different factors that affect an organistions approach to talent planning. External factors such as the economic environment can have a massive effect in how an organisation resources and retains talent. For example, in times of high unemployment it is far easier to attract high levels of talent, as there are many unemployed suitable candidates in the job market. Similarly it is easier to retain staff as they are less likely to leave due tot the difficulty of finding new suitable employment. When looking to hire a Human Resource professional, we use dynamic measures in the hiring process. It is our belief that these processionals are analyzed using leadership trait theories and situational theories. Trait theories often identify particular personality or behavioral characteristics shared by leaders. For example, traits like extraversion, self-confidence, and courage are all traits that could potentially be linked to great leaders. Situational theories propose that leaders choose the best course of action based upon situational variables. This project will focus on Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH) personnel at West Point. The scope of this project is for the in-processing of new civilian employees and employee transfers from other DoD installations. In-processing starts with the employee’s initial visit to the KACH HR office and ends when the new employee is fully integrated, in-processed and available to work a full day.

In early April, Mr. Carl Robins hired 15 new personnel to work for Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor. Carl scheduled a new employee orientation to take place on June 15th, hoping to have all the new employees starting work by the beginning of July

As Director of Human Resources my goals are to formalize the recruitment and selection process, establish policies regarding compensation, provide job analyses and determine descriptions for new jobs as the need arises. I anticipate that the challenge will be to lead the organization through a cultural shift away from its current recruitment and selection model and to successfully manage organizational change across a global workforce. Currently we are in the middle of a recruitment and selection campaign for two administrative assistants to support the Human Resources unit as we lead organizational change.

Organisations are required to comply with legal requirements pertaining to recruitment and selection and HR professionals should have an in depth knowledge of employment law and an understanding of why these practices need to be observed, not only in mitigating potential risk to the business but also to improve the effectiveness of recruitment processes, enhancing the employer brand. Human Resource Management (HR) is a function in an organisation aimed at maximizing employee performance in relation to the employer 's set standards and strategic objectives. The primary focus of HR is concentrated upon the management of employees, and on the policies and systems within and outside the organisation. (Boxall & Purcell, 2011). “Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) aims to align the functions and processes of HR with the strategic aims and objectives and competitive advantage of an organisation.” (Hartel, Fujimoto, Strybosch & Fitzpatrick, 2006). After all, the key characteristic of HR is ‘integration.’ The role of HR and HR Professionals can be linked to four main SHRM theories, namely: Jackson & Schuler (1995), Kochan & Barocci (1985), Klatt, Murdich & Schuster (1978) and Lundy & Cowling (1996).

1. Bullman’s brewery was founded in the 1880s by the Bullman family and is based in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. The company owns two breweries, one in Toxteth and one in St Helens, together with 400 public houses and off-licences situated in Liverpool, Merseyside and Lancashire. The two breweries together produced 190,000 barrels of beer in 2011, although at their peak output in 2007 they turned out 240,000 barrels. The next step would be to implement a safety policy and to make sure that all employees are familiar with the new policy. Once the policy was in place informing people that safety would become a priority, I would then look into re-designing jobs so as to remove or reduce physical hazards where possible (Dessler, pg. 615). Then I would make the physical workplace as accident free as possible by probably slip-reducing floors, better lighting, and a system in place where spills could be quickly blocked-off (Dessler, pg. 615).
