M2- assesses the hazards identified in health and social care setting. D1- makes recommendations in relation to identify hazards and minimise risks.
In Pool Meadow just like anywhere else there are risks and hazards and risk assessments have to be carried out to prevent the risks and stop hazards. I have carried out on my own risk assessments one for indoor one for outdoor and one on a service user in am now going to pick out some risks and talk about the consequences, impact on service user, pool meadow, the staff and visitors and what we can do to overcome the risk’s.
For outside in have picked out 4 main risk’s with the most dangerous one being falling in the pond as the consequences could result in death by drowning for the service user this then would be sad for their visitors people who knew them, parents, staff and other service users. For someone that could be the person they must rely on to be there friend or someone that someone loved it could even have a consequence of depression, it also may lead to all staff having to maybe be trained in first aid so they didn 't have to wait for someone to be fetched who is trained in first aid and may be busy doing something else in the house. Having more trained staff that would know what to do in this situation would help if any other service user that might start going into shock at what 's happening someone else could deal with this situation so they could be dealt about much easier. Staff who may knew

The purpose of risk assessment is not to remove risks, but to take reasonable steps to reduce them. The process involves looking at the risk, and considering what can be done to make it less likely that the risk will develop into a reality. This can be done through implementing policies and codes of practice, acting in individual’s best interests, fostering culture of openness and support being consistent, maintaining professional boundaries and following systems for raising concerns.
Risk assessments can help address dilemmas between rights and health and safety concerns by helping reduce any risks created by undergoing certain tasks, risks assessments are not in place to prevent an individual doing things that they want to do, they are in place to concentrate on the risk factors and to look at any other ways to reduce the risk of the task in hand.
D1: Make recommendations in relation to identified hazards to minimise the risks to the service user group.
| * Coach from a reputable supplier. The first potential hazard I saw whilst carrying out a risk assessment whilst at a health and social care setting was a wet floor. As the floor was wet it was a hazard and had many risks to it, which could have resulted in severe damage or injury. It is harmful to the staff, visitors and children. It was in the corridor near the reception. It could have severe results such as anybody got have slipped and fell over. As there was a kitchen right next to
3.3 Explain why it is important for emergency first aid tasks only to be carried out by qualified first aiders.
Any unsafe practices in care services can lead to neglect if they are not addressed. On some occasions they may not be deliberate, however they can still lead to harm to the individuals. One area of unsafe practice is problems with resources such as having inadequate equipment which is not safe for the job. Additionally, understaffing or under qualified staffing can be problematic as it can lead to jobs not being done appropriately. Problems with operations can also affect the wellbeing of an individual's because if the policies and procedures are not following or are not in place it can lead to poor care of the individual. Moreover, problems with working practices such as staff not following an agreed way of working can lead to them putting
This task requires you to carry out a risk assessment in a work environment. Include the full risk assessment as part of the information you include in your submission. A Care Plan for a service user based on the information will be provided and you will be required to evaluate the risk and make recommendations on improving the Care Plan.
Hello, today I am here to tell you about health risk, and how to reduce them and help you get into a good behavior to fight off the bad health risks. One question you may ask is what is a health risk? A health risk, is a risk you are taking that can hurt you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Some of these health risks are smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes are one of the most popular addiction in America today. Each day, more than 3,200 people under 18 smoke their first cigarette, and about 2,100 young adults and youth become daily smokers. Smoking also gives you a very high risk of lung cancer. Lung cancer can take your life at a very young age. If someone starts smoking cigarettes at 18 years of age, which is the average, they have a lifespan
Doing informal meetings with staff on a regular basis helps get the safety issues across, Managers are to make sure that they convey any concerns brought up by staff at formal meetings.
In this PE assessment, we learned to apply risk management strategies to outdoor activities associated with the water/beach such as snorkelling and swimming. Our class practiced snorkelling skills (ie. Clearing snorkels, equalising, dolphin kicking) in the school pool and at Picnic Bay/Mangawhai which was preparation for snorkelling at Goat Island marine reserve. We analysed the possible risks and hazards that could occur during these activities and the factors that may cause them. As a class, we had to come up with strategies to prevent these risks and hazards to insure everybody’s safety.
