The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the U.S. government’s principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. HHS is responsible for almost a quarter of all federal outlays and administers more grant dollars than all other federal agencies combined. The mission of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is to enhance the health and well-being of Americans by providing for effective health and human services and by fostering sound, sustained advances in the sciences underlying medicine, public health, and social services. The Legislative Day is a day to represent their facility, their state, and industry at the one political event that directly impacts you as a person or your facility. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, volunteering and becoming a certified nursing assistant grew my enthusiasm; I know it’s the right profession for me. I would love to be part of a team working with other health professionals, providing patients with health information and counseling in an environment that appreciates diversity and supports minorities.

My aspiration in life is to earn an honest living by providing health care to those in need of such attention. With this career path, I believe that I will have both an exciting and rewarding occupation. Helping those in need by promoting health and preventing disease I something that I found interesting ever since I was little. For when I was younger, I was in the hospital quite often for countless reasons, and knowing that I was going to be perfectly okay lead my impressionable self to gaining the utmost respect for those in the health care business and eventually leading me to pursue a career in the field. Ultimately, I feel that the profession will allow for me to contribute to society and in doing so I remain confident that I will learn a great deal from such as occupation as one in health care. For Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing”. With this quote in mind, health care appeals to me and appears to be the true career field for me and is my calling.
