Protecting the patient from illness and infection can by control if the staff knows the infections control procedures (wearing glows, protective clothing, washing the hands before and after a contact with a patient.
Own health or hygiene might pose a risk to individuals or others at work by causing infections, causing illness or causing fatalities, this can be prevented by washing hands thoroughly before preparing food and after going to the toilet, covering mouth/ turning away when coughing, applying/ replacing old plasters, disposing of used tissues, taking sick leave if ill etc.

Health and safety is one of the key policies to maintaining the wellbeing of the children and the staff of a childcare centre. This essay will discuss two of the health and safety policies that we use in my home centre. The essay will firstly identify which ECE licencing criterion they relate to, my responsibility in ensuring they are implemented, and lastly the learning opportunities for the children that can be promoted from the implementation of these policies.

The health and Safety at work act is the law of health and safety during work times at work. This is normally to do with dangerous equipment and all types of equipment the health and safety law act. This act is to ensure the safety of workers and this is so they do not get injured during work because of the businesses equipment or due to the businesses work that they are making the workers do also the health and safety act is also for the customers, suppliers and anyone who goes to the business site. To take action with the law the businesses do training and they carry out some assessments to see if the worker knows what to do in the situation where there is a slippery floor and there is no sign the worker should know and they should put the
To ensure the welfare and safety off all children, certain practices should be adhered to, these may include; • Providing a safe environment, by ensuring visitors have to request to gain access to school, such as the use of an intercom, wear a visitor badge and sign in/out. • Carry out risk assessments within the school environment, before new activities and before a school trip. • Understand and follow health and safety guidelines • Have clear policies for when an adult helpâ€TMs a child with personal care, this may be a regular occurrence in a nursery or early years
Employees should report contagious illnesses to their managers. Since we regularly work with children, it is imperative that we take their health as well as the health of our employees into great consideration.
This can be dangerous, as it can result in anger and harmful thoughts, as well as a laissez-faire attitude toward the child
Child abuse and maltreatment is not limited to a particular age and can occur in the infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age years. Choose one of the four age groups (infant, toddler, preschool, or school age) and discuss the types of abuse that are most often seen in this age. Health and Safety Regulations aim to improve safety in workplaces, making employers and employees equally responsible for ensuring that they protect themselves and others from accident and injury. The regulations refer to such things as clean kitchens, safety guards on machinery etc., If an employee is injured at work because of breaches of these rules then compensation can be awarded. Most health and safety legislation places place the responsibility of health and safety on the employers. The responsibilities may however be delegated to other competent persons such as fire warders, first aiders and care takers but the employer still
The central idea I am proposing is this; the safety and health of the public will be put at risk if the same kinds of people keep political power in the future. What I mean by this is people with no engineering background or similar trade don’t have or chose not to act in the best interest of the public when their careers are on the line. On top of that the world is changing at a blinding pace: the challenges of global warming, population growth, and rapidly advancing technology, are problems the general public is ill equipped to handle, without the help of engineers in positions of power. The threats to humanity will overwhelm the political structure we currently have, unless engineers are at the helm to meet them. There are several human made disasters we have covered in the class talking about what happens when people with little to no engineering experiences made engineering decisions. For most cases only a few people were directly affected, while this is a tragedy so people lost their lives the scale of the issues has been on a smaller scale. I bring your attention to the events dubbed the Flint Water Crisis it is a much larger scale issue where thousands of people were affected by a series of bad decisions.
