Throughout my life I always thought the little things that we do to help people in our community are the things that made the biggest difference. I learned in church one day on a Sunday about how to improve ourselves to get closer to God. The pastor said that we are so busy with our daily activities that sometimes we get distracted on things that matter the most. Sometimes even though we might be busy, we should just take a brief moment to help others in need. That is why I find community service important because you are not just building our career we are also building our character as a leader and as a citizen. I never was a good leader; I still struggle to become a leader. I struggle because I am shy; I am shy because I am scared to rise above others and scared to make a stand. That if I do raise above others my opinion won't matter and if I make a stand the position I take will be wrong. Sometimes I see people on the bus bully or laugh at others and I think to myself, someone say something do something, anything. No one ever does. Are those people scared like me, that if they stand up for what is right they will be pulled in to the hate and get judged? We don’t realize that even though people might judge us, but to others you will become a leader, a remodel. That is who I am trying to become, a person who is not afraid to look the worst of enemies in the eye even though we know we might lose.
I find character the most important out of leadership and citizenship
In the changing business environment, leaders of all organisations may face unprecedented uncertainty, especially the technology advancement and changes among the employees. To survive and succeed, leaders should have some necessary attributes. Meanwhile, some changes for leadership skills have to be made to confront the challenges.
In the past four years of my life, voluteer work has left an indelible mark on my heart and mind. When I became a voluteer, I had a very vague notion of leadership. As my high school days come to an end, I am left with the feeling that I have finally come into my own shoes, discovering the things that are important to me and those that are not. I have found my personal leadership style, and I now pay attention to the leaders I come across each day. For this reason, voluteering has been both an enlightening and inspiring experience, for I am surrounded by peers, mentors, and the voluteer program director, all of whom are leaders with creative visions of their own.
Customers are largely concerned with receiving goods or services that are of high value for their price as well as customer care and ethical products (Kenneth). Harvard Business School found that having high levels of employee satisfaction usually lead to higher employee satisfaction, led to higher levels of customer satisfaction, as well as higher customer loyalty (Ruschman). Servant leadership also benefits the customers because lower levels have more power. In a traditional hierarchy, power is often concentrated among those at the top, who tend to have the least interaction with customers (Showkeir). Allowing people at the bottom who have more interaction with customers allows the company to more quickly and efficiently respond to customer needs. In
Community service has been a part of my life since I was young. I grew up working on service projects with my family. I strongly believe that everyone should be involved in at least one throughout their community. When I was 10 I started helping my mom with Meals Ministry; we would make meals for over 150 people and take them to their community. We went to individual houses to see if they would like meals: some rejected, some became emotional, some asked us to pray with them and lots of hugs went around. I worked Meals Ministry 1 or 2 Saturdays a month for about 5 years. This is one of the most heart-touching experiences I’ve ever had. Starting at such a young age, I realized the importance of giving back to others and it helped shape who I
Citizenship/Leadership 12 is a course offered by my school designed for students to develop their leadership values, attitude, and skills. We obtain these skills through classroom activities and experiences such as organizing the school’s Remembrance Day assembly and volunteering for the “Learning & the Brain”
For my service hours I helped around my school and my old school, Saint Barnabas Elementary School. I helped the high school with all the open houses, Freshman Fun night, and the Spring show. I helped the Elementary School with the after school program and I even helped the school with book sorting for the book fair. I did these for my service hours because it's important to help the school you go to and the Elementary School that prepared you for high school. Community Service is important because it teaches me how to be a better person and it brings people together. When I worked at Open House ad Afterschool i connected with a lot of people ad made friendships through them.
Community service does not require you to cure cancer, or creating a huge organization that funds diabetes research, but can instead be little things. While I know in the great aspect of the world and life I did not to a humongous deed of goodwill, but it made me feel completed and good about myself helping out the little girls and making a bowl, which I why more people should help out around the community. Who knows where we could get if everyone picked up teach once a week, or made a $10 donation to a
Serving my community has helped me develop the person I am today by teaching me compassion and understanding. The most influential community service projects I have participated in are Camp Eagle Ridge and my church’s Vacation Bible School.
Communities around the world will always need service's provided by the citizens. In America though, we have the right to serve if we choose. The only time something is mandated, is if you break the law and are court ordered to do community service. There are many different forms of community service, from law enforcement, hospitals, to donating food to the homeless.
“Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.” Dorothy Height. I have constantly viewed myself as an exceptionally encouraging understudy. I have worked greatly hard and gotten good grades . Community service is dedication and volunteering shows sympathy and comprehension. One of my most loved things about Community Service benefit is that there are openings and decisions right in my exceptionally neighborhood. I can volunteer for something you truly accept and have an enthusiasm for, and can volunteer to such an extent as i have time for. Taking part in Community Service gives me the chance to end up as a good citizen individual of the society and has an enduring, positive effect on society in general .Since I always thought that participating in the community it gives me the chance to realize that you are enhancing somebody's life and improving your surroundings and society, also you get the chance to see the immediate effect of your work.
What is community service? If you asked me at my grade 8 graduation, I would have said that it was 40 hours of volunteering required to receive your high school diploma. I probably would have commented that it wouldn’t be hard to do- I mean it was only 10 hours every year. I might have also mentioned that I didn’t have a plan on how I was going to complete the requirement, but I would figure something out. Four years and over 200 community service hours later, I think it’s safe to say that I pulled something together, or even that that something pulled me together. Throughout high school, my involvement in both my local and global community has shaped me into the person I am today. Community service
First of all, community service elicits compassion and understanding otherwise difficult to view in everyday life. When volunteering to help organizations, causes, or people one 's time is not being used for just a singular outcome but several diverse establishments. Not only do efforts aid in promoting positive impacts in one 's society but also in one 's own character.
My Community Service Learning (CSL) placement was spent as an event planning assistant at the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), located on unceded Algonquin territory in Ottawa. The mandate of the organization is to provide national-level advocacy for First Nations policy issues in Canada, as directed by the Chiefs from across the country at bi-annual assemblies. The AFN receives its mandate from resolutions passed at these assemblies, and is accountable to over 630 First Nations, as well as urban and rural First Nations peoples, through this process (Assembly of First Nations, 2017a). My placement fell into the Social Development secretariat, which works on such topics as early learning and child care, First Nations child and
I like to believe that every person in a community makes their largest impact on the people around them through the example they set. Leading by example as some would say. In my life, I have strived to exemplify kindness and hard work. My commitment to success in my school work and other activities and to my relationships with both my friends and family has been by driving force throughout my
When I think about service and how I can play a role in it, I think about community service. Since I have been at Bethany I have been in a couple of different organizations and community service is always a major focus. Right now, I am the active Pledge Master for the fraternity, Gamma Kappa Alpha. By being in this leadership position I am obligated to help out the community and try to make the people in my organization the best that they can be. There are multiple services that we provide for the community, such as, volunteering for churches, helping out with residents yard care and going to the retirement home to talk to and comfort the people who are living there.
