THE THESIS PROPOSAL
In ordinary terms, your proposal explains what you want to study, how you will study this topic, and why this topic needs to be studied.
PARTS OF THE THESIS PROPOSAL
TITLE
• State the tentative title of your proposal. • The title should give a clear indication of the topic being studied.
EXAMPLE: From the thesis of Kimberly Manabat
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY: • It is in this section that you will orient the reader to the problem you seek to solve. • What is the aim of your study.
EXAMPLE: From the thesis of Kimberly Manabat
Example: (Andrea Cervantes’ thesis) The state of secondary science education in the Philippines in the present is staggeringly low. As such, many organizations and

• Aside from showing the direction of the study, through the conceptual framework, the researcher can show the relationships of the different constructs that he wants to investigate.
EXAMPLE: From the thesis of Kimberly Manabat
EXAMPLE: From the thesis of Andrea Cervantes
HYPOTHESIS:
• A hypothesis is a statement of the researcher 's prediction regarding the outcome of the study. It can be defined as a shrewd or educated guess as to the outcome of the study. • It indicates the expectations of the researcher regarding certain variables. It is the most specific way in which an answer to a problem can be stated.
Kimberly Manabat’s hypothesis:
Andrea Cervantes’ hypothesis:
RESEARCH DESIGN:
• Research design provides the glue that holds the research project together. • Research design is: – A plan for conducting research. – It is implemented to attempt to find answers to the researcher’s questions. – A response to a series of decisions about how best to answer focused questions.
RESEARCH DESIGN: • In this section, you must state clearly and fully the methods to be used to gather data, test hypotheses, and/or answer questions. Indicate the following for each method you plan on using: • Objective/s • Participants • Procedures • Research Steps • Treatment of Data
THESIS PROPOSAL OUTLINE
TITLE
A. Background of the Study B. Problem Statement C. Significance
Knowing the differences between a thoughtful research approach, design, and their characteristics inform the research
This requires a properly formatted outline, a comprehensive outline that addresses key points, and a brief summary of key points
In point-form, outline the 3-5 BIG IDEAS about this topic or question and provide research about each idea. Remember to include embedded citations.
Topic paragraph identifies the work and provides the reader with clear short description of the work. It lays out the formal issues; other paragraphs are linked to the thesis by strong topic sentences and a logical arrangement of information
Did the design minimize biases and threats to the internal, construct, and external validity of the study (e.g., was blinding used, was attrition minimized)?
3. Determine an appropriate research design that addresses the research question regarding developmental psychology and also explain why it was chosen.
In this assignment students are required to clearly state and introduce their research topic, indicates clearly the two variables of interest, and present the theoretical framework with key variables. The task is also requesting that learners explained the following components linked to their selected subject: the background of the problem, the need for study, and provide the educational and practical significances of the proposed research.
Organize your proposal using this outline. Use 1.5 line spacing and the reference style appropriate for the area of study.
First of all, title is an important part of proposal which help reader to know what he/she are going to read. Please provide a proper title contain sample and techniques under study.
Approaches and Methods are often referred to as goals and objectives, and activities and timelines by some funding agencies. This part of the proposal contains a lot of information so the writer should start off with a summary. It is important to reach the target population as if they do not the proposal would be worthless.
This is a guide to writing M.A. research proposals. The same principles apply to dissertation proposals and to proposals to most funding agencies. It includes a model outline, but advisor, committee and funding agency expectations vary and your proposal will be a variation on this basic theme. Use these guidelines as a point of departure for discussions with your advisor. They may serve as a straw-man against which to build your understanding of both your project and of proposal writing.
(Borg &Gall, 1983) defined research design as a detailed plan on how a research study will be conducted. It is a plan according to which data is collected to investigate the research hypothesis or question in an economical manner. According to Gall et al (2003) a research design is a plan for collecting and utilizing data so as to obtain the desired information with sufficient precision or so that a hypothesis can be tested properly. It is a framework that guides the collection and analysis of data.
Research methodology involves the design which a researcher ought to use to study a topic of interest. It therefore involves the procedure by which researchers undertake their work and the framework within which is conducted (Rajasekar et al., 2013; Remenyi et al., 1998). Research Methodology aids research planning, if properly design it will enable a researcher to arrive at results or findings and tools that can either be used to disprove or approve such knowledge. (Nachamias et al., 1996; Saunders et al.,2003).
The main function of research design is to provide information for the collection of relevant evidence with minimal expenditure of effort and time. It depends mainly on the research objectives and questions set in chapter one.
Research design is a process to make the framework and the show the flow of the research from beginning steps until end which are detailed. The Figure 1 shows the steps of the research design.
