As of next week, we will require that all employees at Semper Absum take a mandatory one-hour lunch break away from their desks. After hiring an efficiency expert, we were informed that many employees were not taking a lunch-break and instead were using work time to attend to personal matters. Statistically, employees who do not take a lunch break tend to be less productive during the rest of the day.
To ensure we are performing as efficiently as possible, we are requesting that all employees do their part and utilize their lunch break to eat, recharge, handle whatever personal matters they might have and return to their desks, ready to be productive for the remainder of the day. We need all of the department managers on board with this new policy to make sure it is executed seamlessly and that employees understand its importance.

This week I have fully grasp the work that goes into being an RN, case manager and what it entails to fully review a patients’ stay at the hospital in order to discharge them in the most effective and efficient way. I understand the need for these professionals in the healthcare field, not only in the hospital setting, but in skilled nursing facilities as well, one reason being is that I believe someone has to advocate and review the patients’ needs before they are sent home. True in the statement made that constant work is detrimental to your judgement and thus a disservice to your client. Perspective on issues is necessary to make sound decisions. Here I struggled with the rationalization but had not seen from the angle that by not taking a lunch break I would not have the energy and in turn provide a disservice. Further, risking a lack of presence that influences not only the service but the empathetic engagement with clients. A realization that value in ourselves trades for the value we provide those individuals we serve.

Taking a lunch break refuels your mind. After lunch, you can focus on your work and not your growling stomach. If you feel guilty about taking a break, remember that they do not have to be long. A fifteen to twenty minute break will be sufficient enough to recharge you. Studies go further and even recommend taking a nap if it is allowed because your body is completely recharged after a twenty minute nap. Also if you have a longer break time, it is a good idea to work out after your meal (Cooper, 2014).
As you know, you have recently changed the lunch schedules at your high school. This has caused a lot of confusion and frustration for me and my fellow students. I personally think that the previous lunch hours were working great, and I am sure many students would agree.
When you get dismissed last at lunch don’t you just hate being rushed. It’s not fair for the kids at lunch who get dismissed last. Most of the time if you get dismissed last you only get about three minutes to eat. It makes us feel rushed and it’s not right. Some people even have to stay a little while after lunch just so they can finish their food.Kids are being rushed to finish their food and it’s not healthy for us to eat so fast. This is part of the reason why I think we need to extend our lunch time.

Consequently there has been great concern, brought to my attention, by multiple key investors about the quality of time, as well as the amount of effort put forth by our employees. A recent survey of our top managers has brought to my attention that numerous employees are taking excessive break time. Mr. Windham needs to issue a formal apology for the scheduling mistake he made and take full responsibility. Then he should promise fair break scheduling based on all faiths and religious practices. Mr. Windham can ask his employees to convene a diverse working group to come up with a new break policy to go into effect after Ramadan. As long as it does not violate any state and federal laws, company policies, and it passes a legal review, he should promise to sign it.
