As of next week, we will require that all employees at Semper Absum take a mandatory one-hour lunch break away from their desks. After hiring an efficiency expert, we were informed that many employees were not taking a lunch-break and instead were using work time to attend to personal matters. Statistically, employees who do not take a lunch break tend to be less productive during the rest of the day.

To ensure we are performing as efficiently as possible, we are requesting that all employees do their part and utilize their lunch break to eat, recharge, handle whatever personal matters they might have and return to their desks, ready to be productive for the remainder of the day. We need all of the department managers on board with this new policy to make sure it is executed seamlessly and that employees understand its importance. …show more content…

Please let me know as soon as you have spoken to your teams (Friday at the latest) and advise me of any potential issues. Management is very firm in their commitment to this policy and rather than receiving feedback from each employee, we request that each department manager incorporates whatever concerns may arise into a single, team email which is reviewed.
