To combat the issue of cancellations we recommend that Netflix implement some form of a loyalty program and/or a referral program. If Netflix were to begin to offer deals such as a free month after a customer has subscribed for a year or rebates for customers who use their Netflix account frequently, they would be able to improve brand loyalty and increase the average time of a subscription. Our second recommendation is to implement a referral program. For example, if a subscriber refers three people in a months’ time to Netflix, and those three people begin a subscription, that customer would receive a free month. These programs or another form of them would increase customer loyalty and have a positive effect on the amount of cancellations.
With the conditions provided in the promotion, they will be paying $115.54 each month. If they do not pay on time they will be charged a fee and will be required to pay $152.54 the next month.
In Fredrick Douglas’s essay on the convict lease system, he purposely does not use words like “racism,” nor does he outright blame the whites for the situation. Instead, he uses gentle language to state the injustices done, allowing the reader to guilt himself. He says that white people have “done little to prevent the Negro becoming a criminal” (Douglas 1), condemning their inaction, rather than their actions. Douglas talks about injustices such as exclusion from churches and schools, as well as unfair trials, but does not talk about the convict lease system’s “legal” slavery because he wants the reader to come to the realization of his guilt on his own. He avoids talking about unwarranted lynchings and unfair incarceration in order to draw attention to the metaphorical “elephant in the room”. The more he avoids talking about it, the more the reader thinks about its blatant absence and about their actions, subtly making the reader feel guilty for actions done in the past.
Unlike traditional pay per view, VOD, usually offered by a local cable provider, offers subscribers wider choice and the ability to start a movie whenever they want, instead of at a pre-arranged time. Up to this point, Video on Demand (VOD) is expanding,
Hulu should focus on the ability to engage its audience in interesting and captivating content for original TV series. We saw with Netflix the premiers of popular TV shows such as Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. Hulu could also negotiate harder when it comes to content deals with different TV networks.

Netflix is able to offer its customers a flat monthly fee for services, no contract requirement, no late fees, a large variety of television shows and movies, in a convenient way, at a reasonable price.
The movie rental industry is a living industry; there are constant changes with advances in technology, rights management, and the slow, but steady, move away from physical Media. Companies such as Netflix, Hulu, RedBox, and Blockbuster are being forced to look at new business models and try to keep up with these changes.
Sure People have the most recent episodes on Hulu, but they can also go to the show’s website and watch it there. Hulu may have more seasons of show on Netflix. Hulu also has shows, that Netflix does not have for example the show Community. It is a great show it is very funny, but it is not on Netflix. For people to watch it they have to go to Hulu or stream somewhere else. It’s pretty much the only thing good about Hulu plus.
The Federalist papers are essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay with the main purpose to show the pros of officially confirming the constitution. The essays show an overall pessimistic view to mankind, emphasizing the reliance men need on government, and the importance of having the best fit government. They give a great base for understanding the intentions of the constitution that we, as a nation, still attempt to follow today. Although these papers were written in 1787, you can find many similarities in today 's government, and the vision we strive for as a nation. Obviously, times have changed, but the ideas behind our country, and the goal for the United States to be the most successful it can be, remains very similar.
Given that I do not feel the need to watch a new episode immediately when it comes out, I often go to the library to borrow the DVDs when they become available a couple of month after the end of the season. Moreover, even though I am a huge fan of the Game of Thrones series, I still only watch clips of the show on Youtube. Furthermore, given the fact that a university student's life is often very busy, I do not have the time to invest into such entertainments. As a result, I am definitely not the target market of any subscription video on demand service.
I believe that the number 1 rival is Hulu. Netflix and Hulu are both $7.99 per month and if you want to watch your shows on more screens then you have to upgrade your Netflix to $12.99. Hulu has a wide variety of TV series with episodes that are posted 24 hours after it has been shown on live television but the only downside is there are advertisement breaks when you are watching the movie or series. According to Tech Times, Hulu Plus has original content, but some of it isn't really original…Hulu Plus offers comes from other countries and production companies, including the UK's BBC. Generally, customers that watch Netflix do not use it to watch series that are out presently but they use Netflix to binge watch series that they haven’t seen before without commercial
As an individual who is looking to cut cable and pursue a streaming service, I believe that Hulu’s $39.99 Live Stream subscription, as described in the case, could be a strong supplement for pay TV. Although margins for this offering are predicted to be low, I believe that the development of such a subscription illustrates Hulu’s ability to complete market research and listen to consumers. This package indicated that Hulu understands that consumers want Live TV, but wishes to avoid costly bills and wasted
Netflix followed a very well structured International strategy by planning their mission statement which is mainly directed to end users. “For one low monthly price, Netflix members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on nearly any Internet-connected screen. Members can play, pause and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.”
