My Writing Experiences: Increasing My Skills
My writing skills have never been satisfactory. I haven’t had a lot of experiences requiring me to write outside of my own personal writing. Recently my writing skills have increased when I started attending Central Ohio Technical College, January 2017. I enrolled to obtain my Registered Nursing for Nursing Technology. My first semester there I took Integrated Reading and Writing, and I learned a lot. My knowledge for writing grew tremendously. I would now consider myself a adequate writer.
I did not have much of a back-round writing outside of my personal time. In my writing it was for me, and it did not require following writing guidelines. In previous school experiences, I was not expected to

I didn’t realize how limited it was until I took this class. I grasped a lot from this class applying it to everyday life. I learned what a paragraph contains, unity, coherence, topic sentence, sufficient development, analysis sentence, and a concluding sentence. I never was forced to use there, their, and they’re, I always used there for all of them. The use of my vocabulary had widened, and I have become more familiar with a thesaurus. I now use the correct there throughout everyday life. I have attained more awareness on punctuation. I have not mastered that completely. My goal is to do so, along with continuing to improve my writings skills.
Even though I acquired tons from Integrated Reading and Writing I feel there are still things I need to improve on. I know that a comma splice is the use of a comma to join two independent clauses, but I want to decrease the amount of times I make this mistake. I feel it is necessary to develop a habit of creating longer sentience’s without creating a comma splice. Becoming more advanced with my grammar would also be beneficial. I sense there is much more to learn in the process of advancing my writing
Upon entering Columbia College, writing was one of my weaker areas. It was very important that I gained the necessary knowledge and confidence to become a better writer. I didn’t know how to express myself and felt as though my writing was not my interest. As a result of taking English 101, I have gained a better understanding on how to properly research and build a satisfactory paper. Every paper that was assigned seemed like a struggle to complete. Before entering this class, I did not know the meaning of a thesis or why it was important, however, I obtained this skill quickly. I noticed that every paper has an argument and the thesis helps clarify the rebuttal. Now, I have a new outlook on writing. It’s a way to express my thoughts and allow others to see things through my eyes. There is no doubt that I still have a long way to go, but I know if I continue to write, I will get better. Just as I developed more skills in class, the various papers assigned helped to better structure the writer in me. In addition, the subject areas were not only interesting, but very informative and made it much easier to write about my experiences.
A good writer is someone who knows how to write well, have ideas to put on paper and write a well-organized essay that answers the question that a professor gives to you. I identify my own writing by not being good because I have issues sometimes getting words on paper, organizing the essay and my grammar is not very well. The methods that are effective for improving my own writing is practice writing and have someone proof read my work. I am in COM100L because my grammar is not good and my writing on paper is all over the place. My expectation for this course is to improve my grammar when I write essays and fix my mistakes when I write.
Before attending the University of Memphis, my writing abilities and thought process was quite narrow. Writing papers and essays have always been a struggle for me, I do not really have the best skills in writing. Entering college has showed me the importance of writing and how its importance will never vade. Knowing that, one of my ultimate goals in college is to improve in my writing, not only for myself, but also for my future in wanting to pursue a degree in nursing.
While attending writing class, I learned about the 4 steps in writing, bases for revising, organizing, and connecting specific information, and I also learned about the different types of essays such as descriptive, narrative, process, cause and effect and argumentative essay. I have been a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 1 semester, and over the course of my enrollment I have grown and learned more that I knew prior to attending this writing course. Participating in this writing class has taught me so much more than stuff about literature and language, it has taught me another way of expressing myself. I have learned here how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don 't know. Most importantly I have learned how important technique, outlines and organization are. My goal in this paper is to inform writers about how my writing skills have improved.
I think there are some areas that still needs to be improved in my writing. For example, I have always struggled with reaching the minimum length of the essays that I have written in this semester. I also need to work faster on my assignments, and mapping out a timetable would be great solution in order to finish on time.
To support and demonstrate spelling skills, a teaching assistant may be involved in whole class,

One of the biggest things people will face is being able to complete their work, rather than find excuses not to. I would hope this is not a dilemma many of us will face, especially since getting our graduate degree requires a lot of dedication. aPy takes time and developing a good writing habit also come along with time. As you alluded to writing a draft may be a good idea, this way you can have that first draft proofread for errors. I remember when I started writing I use to have my paper proofread by the most anal person ever and even though it was frustrate the amount of errors they found it helped improve my writing. Sometimes you may find a professor who is very meticulous about how they want a paper presented and the also can
It has always been difficult for me to find a writing process that works well for me. Over the past years, I have struggled with writing papers and thinking creatively. However, I feel as if I have established a writing process that works for me.
A learner’s ability to communicate effectively through writing to his/her target audiences is a major prerequisite for academic success. It is also a major pillar of success in one’s career across all areas of practice. Even though, writing clearly is critical to one’s academic and career success, I have not always loved writing. In fact, for a long time I despised writing. At one point, I had a feeling that my writings skills were bound to remain stagnated throughout my life. However, time has proven that I was wrong. My attitude and outlook towards virtually all genres of writing has changed positively. The various helpful methods I have been exposed to by my English teachers through different grades have helped me

All my life I have struggled with English due to the fact that I did not learn English till the age of seven, as it was not the first language. Programs like ESL have helped me improve my English tremendously through high school. Over these past two quarters in college, I learned to improve my writing more than ever, as I have learned that there is no limit in writing. I was able to learn many new strategies that will help me write my future papers efficiently. I have also learned my strengths and weakness. Throughout high school, I dreaded writing essays, due to the fact that I was not good at it, but this quarter I have learned the importance of writing. Writing 20 has changed my opinion on that.
Considering English is my second language, my writing and communication skills are decent . From my perspective, my advantage is grasping the main idea and developing innovate concepts. Normally, I think deeply and deliberate wholly before expressing my opinions since I read a lot in psychology and communication in order to be a businessman. However, my weakness is obviously on vocabulary, grammar and original English expression. Positively, I believe that I am improving my
I am not by any means: Stephen King, J.K Rowling, Shakespeare, or even Dr. Seuss. It would take years of dedicated time and practice to even be considered for any literature achievement prize. Yet, I fully intend to flourish my writing skills by setting up goals, furthering my knowledge in writing, and evolving my already known skills. I will use the advice of not only my peers and instructors, but of my friends and family as well. By having all these options to review my writings, they will help point out the mistake I might have missed while I was self-assessing. All my writings thus far have been those of the school assignment variety. I can say that none of the essays, journals, research papers, etc., have been anything worth remembering.
At first when Jean (the head of the Houlton Higher Education Center) and I decided to sign up for PCJ I was kind of hesitant at first to take this class. Jean told me that the class had a lot of writing and my writing was not the best. At first I was not sure how the class would play out and or if I was going to pass it so, I decided to give to give the class a try. When the class started, I hoped to learn how better shape my writing skills.
