When considering Organization Behavior, the learning styles assessment, and the TED Talk disputing the validity of individual learning styles as a real concept, there are several inherent themes evident throughout this thread. One such theme is that of self-reflection and awareness as means to understanding others better. Additionally, the themes of diversity and human behavior are explored equally. Organizational culture, structure and production are influenced and created by the individual members of any organization. Therefore, knowing your learning styles give ones an opportunity to maximize learning and highlight strengths and weaknesses. “Understanding your own learning styles and the styles of those around you will ensure that you are able to retain information and get the most out of each development opportunity” (Learning styles, 2017). Self-reflection as an assessment works to allow individuals to better understand their own actions, beliefs and preferences. As a visual learner, the assessment teaches that my style aligns best with learning by reading or seeing pictures. From a memory perspective, this assessment illustrates a heightened ability to remember things by sight, as oppose to auditory or tactile sensory.
