According to Woolfolk & Margetts (2013) the quality of teaching can make a difference to children’s lives therefore it is imperative that teachers develop their pedagogical knowledge of learning theories and influential theorists so they can become an effective teacher. Each child is influence by socio-cultural factors and will have their own way of learning. Within the elementary classroom, there is a copious amount of rules, guidelines and considerations a teacher must take into account. Learning theories such as social, cognitive, and behavioral learning should be implemented to provide framework and boundaries for the children. When incorporating learning theories in the classroom, it is important to have a clear understanding of how they work and how they will benefit the child and the teacher. These particular theories allows the teacher to run an efficient and effective classroom from day one.
Vygotsky and Piaget theories can apply to an Early Childhood classroom simply because most of their theories will benefit the teachers to use in their classroom. The nursing need Theory was developed by Virginia Henderson in 1966 and it outlines nursing practice concentration. The theory explains the importance of increase patients' independence. In addition, it addresses the basic needs of human and how nurses can assist meeting those needs. I've started in the nursing field right after high school, I've worked in long-term facilities, rehabilitation, and hospitals. My pride is seeing patients' progression and knowing that I made a difference. When I started nursing, I felt limited in my role and I wanted to be more involved. This theory influences me to pursue a higher education, so I can continue meeting patients' needs and assisting patients meeting optimal health.

Therefore, I feel that the most influential individuals in history are not the ones who have caused the most harm.

The Developmental Theories that will help Ricardo grow in his Personal Development is his sense of self. Through the concept of Cultural and Group Differences, cultural diversity is a factor that teachers can use to improve his development. Through Learning Theories like the Social Cognitive Theory and Motivation, teachers can look at self-regulated learning and self-determination Ricardo has. In order to apply these developmental and learning theories, teachers must look at instructional strategies that support Ricardo and his learning. The first strategy is promoting self-regulated learning and looking at the factors that influence his sense of self. Secondly, teachers should enhance a sense of self-determination, and finally, teachers should enhance Ricardo’s sense of relatedness because that is what is helping him strive in areas like music and math.
Amongst the many topics debated in education circles, it is easy to forget the choice of what we teach and why is of paramount importance. Critical reflection on the relevance of educational philosophers, both past and present, is essential to understanding curriculum choices. With regard to these statements, I wish to apply to this program as a result of a strong professional and personal interest in philosophers of education. More specifically, gaining a deeper understanding of behavioral and functional psychology in education can enhance my current work in many ways. The theories of philosopher’s such as William James have direct implications in my work. For example, by considering the role of acquisition and association of ideas in teaching and learning, I would be broadening my overall knowledge. Additionally, understanding the impact of interest, attention and memory on learning are key components that would enhance my teaching abilities and benefit my students.
Teachers’ beliefs influenced different tasks such as: selecting and presenting learning activities, preparing students for new language and checking their understanding, monitoring students’ learning, giving feedback, among others (Richards & Lockhart, 1994). I agree completely with this perception, because it is something that I have noticed since this course started: in the videos of my classmates, in the classes of my teachers, and in my own classes.
