Jake’s Sport Emporium is the third largest sporting goods retailer worldwide and the 2nd largest sports specialty retailer in the U.S. which is currently operating as click and mortar. Due to heavy global competition Jake’s planning to extend their stores in Maricopa County, Arizona for increased revenues and enhance long term profitability. This project considers three additional new competing locations in Maricopa County, Arizona. This report also presents accessible vacant areas, for Jake’s to establish their new stores. The new stores are evaluated with key mapping features (pads), cex Index Average, NAICS Leakage, EBT, Payback and Household, where the weighted average of these parameters chooses the capability of every area. The three …show more content…
From a business stance, a shorter payback period is better as less time is required to get even with the starting investment. Along these lines, the parameter depends on the Investment cost and EBT (See Appendix A for formulae). Households: This parameter is basically the measure of the quantity of families living in the primary and secondary regions. The report extracted for these field calculations is Executive Summary-Households report where we look up the 2014 Total Households data field. Like other parameters, this calculates average of for the values extracted from ring and drive time donuts from BAO report. With above data available, we calculated the scores (See Appendix A for formulae). Table 1 shows the three new locations, which are selected for establishing the new stores. The details shown in the table are the Address of location, Geographical space of that location in acres, Total Price and Building form …show more content…

With the data which is calculated in table 2, we calculated the weighted individual scores. As shown in Table 2. All the parameters are made as weighted score for individual parameters as percentages. Relative score method is used for their calculations. A relative index for each parameter was determined by summing the values of each individual location, dividing it by the total, and converting it into a scale of 100%. Location 2 has a weighted score of 1.38, indicating that it is the most potential location for a new big store among the three available
The questions in this instrument are weighted a numerical value of zero to three, with three being the highest score on each question.
Fast changes in environmental market place such as social development (globalization and development of social networks), economic unsteadiness (crises), technological progress, fast growing competitive world and strict marketing regulatory directly affect work of most of marketing companies or marketing and brand image divisions of the companies. I order to implement a successful campaign or increase sale and consumer awareness companies have to stay in pace with recent marketing environment and take into consideration every possible detail that might help or ruin image of a company or product.
The United Kingdom (UK) law for recruitment is a key area that makes it necessary for every organisation to follow it. It is important that every organisation, irrespective of which field it is in, follow the laws in order to make the right kind of recruitment process. Similarly, JD Sports needs to comply with the UK laws when recruiting an individual. To begin with, JD Sports should not discriminate between men and women. Under the Equality Act 2006, both the genders should be equal chance at opportunities, and this also includes the transgender people, as it will eliminate discrimination and harassment (Gatewood, Feild, & Barrick, 2010). The Race Relations Act 1976 states clearly that there should be no discrimination on the bases of colour, race, and nationality, ethnic or national origin. JD Sports must make certain that it is not creating any kind of discrimination in this aspect. Lastly, JD Sports have to take into consideration the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 in order to make certain that they are giving fair chance of being employed to a disabled person, whether the individual
Develop at least four criteria, assign weights to each criterion, assign scores, and then calculate the weighted scores. Print the spreadsheet and bar chart with the results.
(Measureable) quality is being measured by scores (areas are being identified by scores of either higher or lower)
The payback’s reciprocal would be more useful for projects with very long lives. The payback reciprocal is best used when the useful life of an investment is twice the payback period. The IRR rises when the useful life of an investment increase which would then get closer to the higher reciprocal.
4) Location- Decisions about where to locate a store are critical to any retailer’s success. Location decisions are particularly important because of their high cost, long-term commitment and impact on customer patronage. Choosing a particular location type involves evaluating a series of trade-offs. These trade-offs generally include the occupancy cost of location, the pedestrian and vehicle customer traffic associated with the location, the restrictions placed on the store operations by the property managers, and the convince of the location for customers.
The first variable considered is Location, a categorical variable. The three subcategories are Urban, Suburban and Rural. The frequency distribution and pie chart are included. Measures of central tendency and descriptive statistics are not calculated due to the categorical nature of the variable.
This will help to ensure how successful they will be and give them a market plan when it comes to what type of products and services they will offer at each new location. Researching customers in all the projected new locations will give them an idea of what they will have in each store according to the areas shoppers like and dislike and how willing they are to try something new.
Our rating is based on the school’s overall performance score across multiple measures that include both student proficiency, student growth, and student success indicators as outlined in Policy 2320. It also takes into consideration Policy 4110 about student attendance and Policy 4373 on Safe and Supportive Schools. I can provide a copy of any the above policies upon request.
To determine scores for qualitative responses such as interview questions, letters of recommendations and previous work experience questions, a scale would have to be created. To determine these scores, the answers would have to be looked at subjectively by the reviewer and given a number on a rating scale. Once the answers are given a numerical value, the total score can be compared to other applicants’ scores to determine who may be more valuable to the company.
The tenant structure of the shopping center is an important factor in ensuring rent is adequate to make the project viable. The fact that Philipp conceded the hypermarket could have a negative effect on the overriding success of the project. ECE strategy typically relied on these large self-service retail stores. Hypermarkets are very desirable to customers since the warehouse structure enable the stores to offer a wide variety of products (i.e. fresh food, beverages, home supplies, electronics, clothing, car accessories, garden furniture etc.) at discounted prices. This lack of a hypermarket must be offset by assurance and
A target payback period will be set by the company and the proposals that recover their initial cost within this time will be acceptable. If a comparison is made between two or more options then the choice will be project with the fastest payback.
There are three important criticisms of the payback period method. The first is clearly fundamental and relates to the fact that cash flows after the payback period are ignored. So it could be the case that whilst a project produces a large net cash flow (i.e., where cash inflows significantly exceed outflows), they are generated in the later part of the project and may be ignored as this is after the payback period. For example, in the case of project A and B in this question , project B was preferred because of its shorter payback period, but overall project A generates more cash inflows, totaling £2,10,000 as compared to only £2,00,000 in the case of project B. However, project A`s cash inflows were mainly earned in the later years.
The company has to decide between the two locations based on their virtues, availability and higher margin of profit.
