I am recommending Karen Wilson for the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work practicum stipend. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Wilson through my employment at Rose State College Student Support Services (TRIO) where I had the opportunity to mentor and provide tutoring services to Ms. Wilson. She has continually demonstrated her commitment to her academics and her community. Currently, she is employed by UCO Cares as a college Transition Coach. Previously, she peered mentored students at RSC and encouraged them to join campus activities such as student senate and to continue with higher education.
Academically, Ms. Wilson has stood out as a student that values her education. Her hard work and dedication to assist others in need

Wilson has the ability to create a fun environment of learning through her participation in the classroom.Highly energetic, quick witted and outgoing, she has an ability to brighten the bleakest situations and transform gloomy days into positive environmental experiences. Throughout her academic career, Ms. Wilson has embodied the values of the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social. Her life of hardships and social injustice she has devoted her life to caring for the needs of others. As a result of her being in a sandwich generation, she has learned the impact of counselors and case workers have in a hospital setting. She has taken advantage of hospital resources to elevate the stressors of the cost of care and treatments.
Ms. Wilson has always been viewed as a leader on campus and in her community. She continued to position herself in leadership roles that assist the community. Ms. Wilson utilizes her creativity and personal experience to give back to the community. Her knowledge of resources in the Oklahoma Metro has allowed Ms. Wilson to provide excellent services to her clients.
I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with Ms. Wilson both in an academic setting and in the community. Confident in her abilities, she will be an asset to any originations
and the Providence Hospital had to take all the responsibilities of funding the agency many budget cuts had to be done in order for the agency to stay open. Due to the lack of funds the majority of the employees had to be laid off, the English teacher and the parenting class teacher had to be let go, also they had to move Mobile from Semmes. Because of this changes the number of individuals the agency can serves has become lower, the agency relies on volunteers to help with the interpretation in medical appointments. (S. Vaca-Diez, personal communication, November 12, 2014). The agency accepted Social Work students from the University of South Alabama to do their internship with them. The author started her internship for the fall semester of 2014. While on the agency, the intern’s job was to schedule appointments, interpretate in medical appointments every Monday and Wednesday at the women health center, or at other via phone with medical appointments and governmental interviews the rest of the days. The intern meet her client “Susana” for the first time, when she was seeking help scheduling an appointment for the women health center to get a pregnancy test. Since that first meeting the intern was assigned to “Susana’s” case.
In addition to tutoring and mentoring the children in the community, Jacelyn also holds the position as Volunteer and Outreach Coordination, requiring her recruit, organize, and oversee student volunteers in the project. In addition, due to financial constraints in her family, Jacelyn also has an off-campus job that requires her to work many late nights and weekends. This ability to manage two jobs, a research assistant position, and consistent participation in community service while maintaining her exceptional GPA at an academically rigorous institution like UCLA demonstrates her admirable character, work ethic, and time management, valuable skills found in few students.
As solely a student, I will tell you that Lauren is an amazing student. In a classroom environment, Lauren is knowledgeable about many subjects, participates often, and always seeks to learn more. Specifically in social studies, Lauren has an extensive knowledge of international, historical, dates; events; and people. With every book that we read in English, Lauren is able to find metaphors that I never would have noticed.

It is my great pleasure to recommend Denise Perez-Viveros for The Salvation Army Women’s Scholarship. I am the pastor of the church she attends. I have had the pleasure of knowing her for several years.
It is because of Anita Johnson that I want to help high school students reach their full potential and help them be change agents in society. The simple act of letting them know they are worth something great creates an inner drive to do better. I would like to motivate the students by . When students find their passion, they go out and do wonderful things in the world. What they do creates their value.
My experience with Molly O’Shea began during the 2015-16 school year when she was a student in my Anatomy & Physiology course. That experience continued last year, as I worked with Molly in her honors biology course to provide academic enrichment through gifted support. As a senior, she continues to be one of the foremost student leaders on campus, and is actively involved in coordinating the annual miniTHON at Wilson High School. It has been extremely rewarding to work with Molly as a student and to observe her intellectual, athletic, and personal growth over the past few years.
Her knowledge of several different subject has been a huge advantage to our entire office where she put these skills to work to always achieve any task given to her.

Joanne Ma is a HIGHLY enthusiastic and bubbly sophomore who portrays an excellent characterization of a perfect student. Although she may not be aware of it, she serves as a role model to her peers through her hardworking skills and ethical values. Alicia has consistently been an outstanding student, researcher, and leader both in and out the classroom. Her work ethic and energy is among the best from students I have interacted with over the last twenty-eight years in my faculty role. Amidst the rigorous requirements of her courses as full time student and the challenges of taking care of her family and working for three professors simultaneously she meets her deadline on time, delivers excellent work, makes no complains, and maintains a warm disposition. She has managed her family and work with devotion and tireless energy. I have never seen her overwhelmed, but always positive and passionate about her calling and day to day celebration of life and work.
