When actress Kate Del Castillo helped Sean Penn and Rolling Stone Magazine arrange the interview with drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, she had plans of making a movie based on his life as the leader of one of the biggest criminal lords in Mexico.
However, instead of making money out in the form of a film, she was instead accused of being in cahoots with El Chapo, and an investigation was filed against her.
Still, that did not stop the actress from going on with her original plans. Fox News Latino noted that the film is still in the works, even though this might mean legal trouble for the Mexican-born actress.
Del Castillo is going from one drug lord story to another. Previously starring as a drug cartel boss in a television series

In defense for his client, Braun explained to Spanish newspaper El Pais that Castillo merely wanted to speak with El Chapo to get some insights for the treatment of the film as well as to get to know the kingpin.
As for Del Castillo's involvement in the capture of El Chapo, Braun said that she did not appear to know of Penn's write-up for the Rolling Stone. He said, "She didn't know Penn was going to write for Rolling Stone. Would you meet with El Chapo and approve to have the interview for publication? After the interview, she had no choice about it. Once Penn and Guzmán agreed on the article, what was she going to do? She signed off after they had done

In 1993, EL Chapo was captured and sent to another high maximum security prison in Jalisco, Mexico. Initially, he was placed in a isolated facility until he was able to bribe and threaten the staff to place him with the other inmates. While there, they allowed him to have sex with female prisoners from other institutions, smuggle cocaine through Viagra pills, and treated him like a king (Fusion). Also, he stayed in contact with other extremely powerful drug allies, providing him with money and enforced their power among the guards (Grayson 58). After lawmakers did further investigation on his escape, it has been shown that seventy-one prison officials were receiving regular payments from 'El Chapo' (Morris 254). This continued for eight years (a few days before being extradited to the U.S.) until he decided that it was time for him to escape (Grayson 58). His major influence with his guards, led to them helping hide his body under dirty laundry and smuggling him out of the
The arrest of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman was a victorious circumstance for the Mexican government, who have been closing down on his presence for the recent past years. Mexican authorities began taking down high ranked members of the Sinaloa Cartel including two of Guzman’s main associates. On February 22, 2014, the world’s most wanted man had also been captured. Although the biggest drug lord has been captured, the crime and violence left behind cannot be forgotten.
The movie of my choosing it “Selena”. The movie is about an upcoming Mexican-American singer and clothes designer named Selena. Early in Selena’s childhood she always enjoyed singing and her dream was to perform. Her father Abraham knew that she was vocally gifted. Selena, A.B. Quintanilla and Suzette became a band called Selena y Los Dinos. Selena started singing in small places but she did not get the reaction that she thought she would. With words of wisdom Selena strived to achieve nothing but the best. Soon Selena started to get some attention, however Selena’s father Abraham had another idea that could help her career. Considering the fact that Selena was a Mexican-American, her father figure that she should learn the language in order to get to her Hispanic audience. The music industry was dominated by male artist which made it harder for Selena to make her trade mark.
Joaquin Guzman best known as “El Chapo” is the world's greatest drug lord. He has been captured three times and has been able to escape twice, once in a laundry basket and the second time he managed to escaped in an underground tunnel built in his shower cell. He was recently recaptured after being fugitive for about six months. Joaquin entered the drug business as a teenager and later became in charge of the Sinaloa cartel. “He shops and ships by some estimates more than half of all the cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana that come into the United States”(Penn). Many argue that El Chapo is a really bad person that only does a lot of harm to the citizens in Mexico, but what most don't know is that he actually helps some of them.
In “Fiesta 1980” Papi uses the fact that he is Dominican and in his Hispanic culture he can cheat and get away with it. It is understood in most Latin cultures that if the man is the breadwinner and brings home the money then what he should not be questioned. Papi was arrogant and let the fact that he was head of his family cloud his better judgment. Papi should have protected his sons from his lies and infidelity’s. Instead, Papi would use to fact that he was a macho man and the head of the family to show his sons a lesson in cheating. Papi would take them around his mistress and expose them to that side of his life, the side of his life that should have not even existed. “I met the Puerto Rican woman right after Papi had gotten the van” (Diaz,1996,155). Papi would use to van as an excuse and take his son driving, trying to help his car
