I can remember being in elementary school taking a test to see all the different learning styles that the class consisted of. After we had got the results back the teacher then proceeded to split us into three groups the visual, auditory, and tactile learners and whoever was in your group those were the people that shared a learning style. I was in the tactile (kinesthetic) group. I still believe that kinesthetic learning is still my main learning style to this day. Not only am I a kinesthetic learner I also relate to interpersonal learning, and linguistic learning.
The kinesthetic learners are called the "do-ers" or the active learners because they learn by doing. In my opinion, I believe that the kinesthetic learner is a combination of the
When I took the learning preference quiz I had the highest score in tactile or kinesthetic learning. I had a 14 in tactile learning and 13 in both visual and auditory learning. I was not surprised by the top result from the quiz. I learn best hands on and prefer not to just read information. I was sort of surprised when it had visual and auditory tied for second. I would much rather listen to something being read rather than read it. I am dyslexic and when I must read information alone, I have a hard time comprehending. I think overall, because the quiz said I had a kinesthetic learning preference, that it was accurate. When listening to a lecture or reading information I often take notes to remember. I do not look back at the notes often,
I am using the tactile and visual learning style almost every day. For instance, during my College Algebra class last quarter, I left the class every day without any idea of what the instructor was talking about. However, when I read the notes I took in class, and began working through the problems on my own, I finally started to understand what was going on, and “why” I was doing it. Granted, it took some failures, but through trial and error, I was able to learn and adapt to the
Throughout my high school and early college career, the concept of a learning style is far from foreign. I have learned of the three main learning styles: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. I have taken multiple tests and found out what my learning style is and that it has not changed much throughout my educational career. Earlier in this course, I learned that I need to adapt the way the teacher is teaching to the learning style that best suits me. My learning style is mainly visual and kinesthetic. However, the questionnaire created by Barbara Soloman and Richard Felder has given me a lot more insight to my learning style. I have learned more about my learning style such as what type of learner I am, how I learn best, my preferred way to
My learning style remains to be a tactile-kinesthetic learner. I’ve taken numerous learning style tests before and I always have the same results. This implies that I learn best when physically doing a project or activity. It does not mean that if I write items down I will not remember them, I will. My photographic memory is not off, but, it would stick better if I did projects hands-on. It helps to visualize the points I have read or are hearing about to get a better understanding of its background. Therefore, I enjoy creating ideas that will help learn by making displays as well as posters. I even play games to assist myself. While reading or listening to an instructor, I often shuffle my feet around or click my writing utensil. This helps
I am a great learner as a student, I love to sometimes see if I can be moving around to learn better. I'm a kinesthetic learner and I love to move I'm a left side brain person I love to be careful and pay attention I'm deadline driven I always pay attention to all The details.Just to have a great grade with my teachers I love to make sure that I'm getting notes down. So I can study I love to have a great teacher that knows how to make a school. I'm red ,because I’m super aggressive. I do well in aggressive areas and, I Need to be paying attention ,because I need to be highly aggressive . the best that I can have great grades and succeed in the next grade, because I want to succeed in the world. To go into college, I Want go to C.U where
They will write out steps or procedures of a process to retain the information. They also take notes and may rewrite the notes to memorize what was being written. This type of learner learns exactly by reading and writing. Learners with kinesthetic preferences require whole body movement and real life experiences to absorb and retain material to be learned. A kinesthetic learns best when they are involved in solving the problem. They like hands on approaches and learn by trial and error. This type of learner may make it difficult for a teacher to manage. A kinesthetic learner has to move in some kind of way in order for them to learn, this may make it difficult for the teacher to relay the information to the other students. Approximately five percent of the population picks things up through touch or
Fleming (2005) stated that people can be grouped into four styles of learning: (Gravells, 2012), Visual, Aural, Read / Write and Kinaesthetic (VARK), with Honey and Mumford (1992) suggesting that learners are a...
“Just as students have different personalities, they also have different ways of learing (Slavin, 107).” Learning styles are another important factor to incorporate when implementing the best learning environment. Learning styles are defined as an individual's mode of gaining knowledge. The most common learning styles addressed are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Auditory leaners understand information through hearing. Visual learners need more visual aids in the learning process, such as diagrams, webs, or pictures. Kinesthetic learners learn better by using manipulatives or by being physically involved in the learning process. Learning styles is a piece of the “backbone” of differentiated learning. Both are used to individualize instruction to help students achieve the most success.
After hard work I finally found out I am a kinesthetic, right brained learner. To begin, I used many tools to figure it out including a computer test and survey sheets. My favorite one was the computer test, it said i was a kinesthetic learner. On the characteristic worksheet it stated that I am mostly right brained. That made me confused because for left brain it said, “Good at math” and I’m very good at math. I am right brained because of the way I can be successful. I am better by having a partner to help me work. I always work better with a partner because I can talk through things. I love to learn when I can do it having fun. I can finish work quickly if I focus on the work. If I do my work around tons of noise I can’t do my work. I use
A kinesthetic learner learns best by moving their bodies to activate their large or small muscles as they learn. This definitely fits me to the T. I never sit still; my hand and mouth have to be constantly moving in order for me to focus and retain any information. It also explains why my first grade teacher sent me home with multiple letters stating that I needed to be put on Ritalin. But that’s not all. I also learned from
Learning styles of individual students vary and as a consequence, learning needs also change from each student to the next (Liew, Sidhu, & Barua, 2015). The “styles” for learning that are widely adopted include the Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, Kinesthetic (VARK) model, developed by Fleming and Mills (1992) include Visual (V), Auditory (A), Read/Write (R) and Kinaesthetic (K) types of learning approaches. The Visual (V) learner learns best by the use of information by visual means (using of charts, mindmaps, and other visual aids). The Auditory (A) learner understands best by
Learning is so very important in every aspect of life. In this week's lesson, we found out that there are many ways of learning. In one of the tests, after answering the questions honestly, I learned I was a kinesthetic learner (Bethel University, 2013). Being a kinesthetic learner works extremely well in my career where all matters are hands on and one has to actively participate in learning new skills within a state penitentiary. My supervisor at work would be happy knowing I am a kinesthetic learner since he always questions why I excel in my job performance each and every year.
I think I am a kinesthetic learner which means I have to feel you learn or exercise to remember pe is easiest for me I always have to be moving to learn like if i am doing push ups I will remember 2x2 =4 I have trouble sitting in one place for too long I start squirming and moving.I need to learn how to learn to sit down and learn. I need something that will help me sit still and shut up because I need to try but for now I am okay with being kenith edic and I am going to learn to get a 1000 word essay done and feel good because I sat through it and got it done I try for complex sentences. I think it's easier for me If I get a good grade on school because i try my best to do what i do and dont give up on what I do best , exercised be ready
Everyone has their learning style auditory, visual and kinesthetic. These are all different learning styles for different people auditory is a learning style for people who learn easier through listening to something. visual is when somebody is a visual learner meaning that they learn through sight the best. Some people have more than one learning style they could be visual and auditory or kinetic and auditory or all of them.
I know that I am a Visual Learner, and everything I learn is through what I see. I learned that I am able to learn through different teaching styles and still learn the necessary information that is being given. Most people can relate to being a visual learner as it helps to see the information and retain it as well. Another type of common learning style is bodily kinesthetic which I feel I also learn well from as well.
