Just like the wind, you can feel it but can’t see it. It’s the most basic and fundamental need of each living individual. Everyone wants to love and everyone wants to be loved. Self-respect is when “we like ourselves of who we are and not because of what we can or cannot do” (Langer). Humans were created differently and imperfect from each other. Not everyone is capable of doing everything, that is why everyone was created according to their capacities and their abilities. What one person can do another can’t, and that is what makes this world so amazing and unique. Everyone takes part in making this world work the way it does. Learning to respect everyone’s differentiations helps respect one-self’s as well, making it the key to happiness as Langer said in the article self-esteem vs. self-respect. “Self-respect, may hold the key to achieving the peace of mind we seek” (Langer). Its hard to accept things that can’t be changed but once self- respect is gained acceptance follows right through. Many lack in self-esteem but those who have it are the most loving and friendly people.
Having self-esteem is not valuing oneself more than others instead it is to “evaluate something positively and hold it in high regard” (Langer). Self-respect and self-esteem work hand in hand. One isn’t possible without the other, its like “teaching others how to treat you by showing them how you treat yourself” (Kotsos) one must accept who they are in order to value themselves. Self-esteem grows in a person who accepts who they are and are okay with the

Self-esteem is a very important factor in various reasons that happens in people’s daily life. With no type of thought people don’t think or take self-esteem with importance without realizing that self-esteem is a huge thing that us humans depend for our daily activities. Some shifts that have happened toward self- esteem over the past few decades were the fact that many people don’t really get an effect of having a boost of self-esteem in order for them to reach success. Love is a force that inspires us to feel more, do more, and sometimes sacrifice for the object of our attention. Poems, music, relationships are all written in the name of love. There are six kinds of love, according to the ancient Greeks:
The National Association for Self- Esteem interpret self-esteem as an individual meeting life challenges and being worthy of happiness (NASE, 2016). Self-esteem is defined as an individual’s perspective of their confidence over their skills and self-worth. Self-esteem is learned and embedded within certain childhood experiences such as suffering from verbal or physical abuse or never receiving positive reinforcement (GoodTherapy, 2016). In adulthood, the best of self-esteem could be shattered with a losing a job, health trouble, or financial trouble all that indicate a part of their life that they have failed at. Low self-worth is seen in people who suffer from depression and eating disorders. Although exaggerated levels of self-importance are also dangerous and can lead to narcissistic and defensive tendencies (Baumeister, Campbell, Krueger & Vohs, 2003). There needs to be a balance between the low and high self-esteems.
Love, it is only a 4 letter word, yet it means so much. What exactly does it mean to love? If it were to be searched in a dictionary or online, there are so many different definitions that will come up, that nobody truly knows what love is. So why exactly do we people say it when we don’t even know what it is or how to describe it? People say it’s something that you just feel and no words can explain the feeling. But why exactly should we feel it? In the beginning love will seem like an amazing thing, but by the end of it all, hurt is all you’re left with. Instead of loving someone, just never love, because towards the end of life everybody will lose someone they love, and not loving just saves people from the devastation of a heart break.

Respect others – If we have no respect for others, how can we have self-respect? Self-respect means we have inner confidence and inner assurance, this is not a confidence or assurance built on superiority. It is the wrong approach to try and feel better by putting others down. If we look for the good qualities in other people it is easier to remember the good qualities in ourselves.
