Surpriesed things usually make you happy but sometimes it also makes you sad. Surprise makes you become full of emotion. You can feel sad and happy at the same time. I felt that once. It was a goodbye party for me. I was going to go study abroad so my friends hold a party for me. Only my best friend and me were there. On that day, the sun was shining, the birds were singing. I had thought that it would be a happy day. However, it wasn’t. The party was on 3 July. At 3.00 pm, my friends came to my house and then we went to the supermarket to buy food. When we came back home, we started cooking. It was absolutely exhilarant to cook together. We finished cooking at about 5.00 pm. Our menu included fried chicken, sushi, fried taco with fish sauce. We enjoyed our food which we had cooked together. Although the food wasn’t as delicious as the restaurant, we adored them so much because they was made by us, by memories between us. Then we were eating and talking at the same time. We talked about what had happened in our lives, in our school. After we had finished eating, we decided to go to karaoke. All my friends and I were interested in singing. Therefore, karaoke was the best choice.
Each of us rode our own bike to karaoke. At the begining, all of us were excited to choose the songs. We sang many songs about love. Suddenly, a song about friendship started. I feel quite confused because we didn’t often sing this kind of music. Then two of my friends said that they needed to go to
My parents were down the street at my aunt’s house and said that I could have some people over, so that’s exactly what I did. Around eleven girls had came over and we spent the night dancing and singing loudly every word to songs that were overplayed on the radio but still so catchy. When other houses started to shut off their lights, the street lamps went on and our feet were too sore to be used anymore, we lowered the music, all sat around and gossiped—of course because that’s what girls do best. When the night had ended and almost everyone was gone, me and a couple others were so hungry that we were listening to our stomachs grumble, it was as if they were talking to each other about how they needed food. My parents offered to drive us to the Rainbow Diner where I got my favorite dish, french toast and chocolate
Today was an important day, sports meeting. In the morning, we had the opening dance. And we won the best team award. The first event was 3000 meters, but I had no ranking. There were long-jump, and solid sphere. In the afternoon, we had jump-rope and shooting, and we won the second in jump-rope and shooting. Our class teacher told me “friendship first competition second.” When all the events were over, I went to play basketball. After the end of the sports meeting, we took a photo in front of the flag.
2007: This was the year in which I had gone to India for my second time, and this was more remembered because it was more recent, and I was 3 when I had first gone to India. This trip was great because I got to live in the house my dad lived in for his whole life which was cool, visiting places and exploring was also fun. But the main reason I had gone to India was to go to my uncle’s wedding, which was really important to me, because I am close with him, and he had lived with my family for over a decade, before moving out 2-3 years after getting married.
My friends and I get together again and we eat together. Happily we talk all through the night. At first, I was really nervous about this, but my friends helped each other through
“Tonight is going to be memorable”, I thought, but not just because of the get-together with my friends. I was learning to cook something new and as I cooked the stresses of the day and school seemed to dissipate.
It can be happy, too. But, it can still be sad, no matter what. Like on my 13th birthday, I remember looking for my cat, Tutter. My sisters and I looked everywhere we could. Well In our backyard, we had a tower, and one of my sisters and I were coming down from the top. When we looked through the stairs, which had spaces between them, we found Tutter. We were so excited to have found him. So, we went to go get him... and he didn’t move. We called his name a few times, before we tried to shake him awake. He didn’t wake up. That day, I had to bury the cat my sisters and me raised from a
At 6 years old, I was invited to a friend’s house after school. Of course I was eager; it was the first time I had ever been in to anyone else’s house without my parents. Young me was just happy to be around new people and the anticipation was eating away at me. I remember that day being excruciatingly long. As soon as the bell rang
It was January 31st, 2012 and the bell for second hour had just rang. Like any other day, I was walking to the gym with Lyzeth. It was Lyzeth’s birthday so it seemed like there was something festive in the air. The week before, Emily had been gone a lot because of doctor appointments. Like any other day, Lyzeth and I saw Emily on our way to the gym. Like usual we stopped and said hi while she congratulated Lyzeth. I remember Emily was wearing a very colorful sweater and a complimented her about it. Later that day she was gone again and soon after we would find out way she was gone so much. That day was the last time I would see her. It was bitter-sweet, but it was a good memory because it is the way I will always remember her.
"Most of the time they like to listen to sad songs about love"(89). William plays his guitar and his girlfriend, Tiffany sits next to him leaning her head on his shoulder as she studies for her Geometry test. The sound carries and echoes through Mamiya. We may be on different sides of the building, but the memories of being on the same side linger. As people grow older and become romantically involved with others, they start to change their habits and don't pay attention to their old friends. Sometimes the old friend must accept that others have changed and move on to be happy.
This Perfect Day is probably Ira Levin's greatest work of his career. Levin's work, despite being written in 1970, is very plausible having realistic technology, such as scanners and computers which watch over the entire family, the entire population of the world. This novel could be used to show the dangers of a Utopian society as well as being full of anti-Communist and anti-racist sentiment. This Perfect Day also displays the feeling that communist and segregated institutions can be defeated, as the protagonist Chip over powers the "family" and their vile Uni Comp as well as rising above the segregated community he reaches after fleeing the family. This work could best be placed in an area of the curriculum where it is
When my friends arrived, my parents welcomed them with open arms and big smiles. We had great dinner together with all authentic Chinese cuisine on the request of my friends. For next few days, I was busy in showing my friends around and visiting various sites of historical and cultural importance. We met our parents during dinner time only and the conversation during that hour was
My mom spent the morning with me getting me dressed for my event. I wore my favorite yellow sundress and asked my mom to french braid my hair. I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup at the time but I decided to break that rule. I felt like a little bit of sparkly grape lip gloss was essential to completing my look. On the way to my party, I felt my nerves set in. It was finally time. I strode into the venue straight towards my assigned party room. My parents and I set out all the paper plates and cups. I filled up bowls with chips, candy, and made my cake the centerpiece of the table. I couldn’t help but admire all the pretty neon lights that surrounded me. I couldn’t stop thinking of pretend conversations between me and my classmates. I thought I was a genius for choosing this place. It was so much more interesting than a small get together at my house would have been. You don’t feel like playing any games? You can relax in the room and enjoy as much food as you want. You don’t like the food we have? There’s a buffet right around the corner. You feel like bowling? Playing Laser Tag? You can do both. I had every possible scenario planned out.
It was also the day in which we received presents from our relatives and that’s why I was so excited. This day was so special to my relatives, that they even made all three meals for us. “Hey, the kids are here,” my grandma said with some enthusiasm as she walked to the door. They had the football on the TV and it looked as if they were already started the party. We only come to this house for this type of occasion.
We all sat down and talked. We talked about how everyone has been. My sisters school and my brothers new job. While we were talking there was another knock on the door. I went to go open the door and it was the pizza and the wings. I payed for them and grabbed the boxes and walked into the kitchen where my family was. Everyone was really hungry but my family really wanted me to see the big surprise they got for me. SO we agreed we would go outside to see what they got me. We went outside when I saw what they got me I almost cried in joy. My family got me the same looking motorcycle that was on my cake. It was a black Kawasaki Ninja 2017. It had a nice leather seat. The lights were bright white and it was really shinny. But I had one question.
I arrive at my front porch with the last bit of Dutch chocolate cake from my birthday party at work. It’s inside a glorious glass display my co-workers purchased. My boss gave me the rest of the day off. How else better to celebrate my special day than with my husband? I reach into my purse, rummage through the makeup and sticks of chewing gum, and pull out my house key. After turning the lock and entering my home, I call out, “Mason! I’m home!”
