My preferred work environment as an investigative person is in a fairly unstructured environment where I can be left alone to explore problems that attract my curiosity. My management style is very lenient, I would like to present my problems to my employees and give them the freedom to follow through. My preferred work environment as a realistic person is in a place where I can tackle concrete problems and obtain tangible results and do not hate to engage in a lot of social interaction. In the ISFJ personality the letter “I” represented me being an introvert. Introverts tend to be more closed in and often think about things before acting on them. Introverts would choose reading a book over hanging out with friends. Introverts, like myself, prefer alone time more often than others. I show this common characteristic very often. In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). These three letters represented my strengths and interests in determining which career field would best suit me.
Each type has unique gifts and talents that can be used in different occupations. ISFJ personalities are practical and motivated to provide for others in the careers that they choose. The ideal work environment for this personality type is to work alone on projects, work with known facts, use standard procedures, work in a friendly and relaxed environment. Careers that are suggested for someone with the ISFJ personality are interior decorators, nurses, administrators, managers, child care professionals, counselors, paralegals, religious workers, shopkeepers and office managers. Personally, I want to work in the Biotechnology field developing cures for sick children and adults. I would love to find the cure for cancer and lyme disease. The Myers-Briggs Personality assessment is the most effective way to determine one’s personality type. The test uses different markers to determine how one is stimulated and exerts energy, gather information, make decisions, and living structure. At the completion of the test one will get personality type that is comprised of four letters. The test was developed based off of Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs-Myers’ psychological research on personalities and later dissected into Otto Kroeger’s book, “Type Talk at Work.” This book gives one the tools to determine what one’s personality is and then goes into great detail about one’s strengths and weaknesses and how it applies to to real life situations. My personality description is ENFP; Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. After taking the CHOICES Interest Inventory, my holland codes were social and investigative. Investigative individuals are frequently depicted as "thinker's" who are observing and appreciate learning and assessing new things/circumstances. Investigative individuals like the challenge of thinking of ways to figure out problems and also they prefer to work on their own. Social individuals are often dubbed as "aides" who appreciate helping individuals from multiple points of view and are constantly worried about the prosperity of others. Social individuals flourish when working in groups, and have exceptional verbal and communication skills.
After reading about the six different occupational themes, I think the theory that goes with my work personality the most is the conventional theme. Those that fit the conventional theme typically have a need to feel secure and like to be in a routine, they value structure. They are organized, efficient, and detail-oriented. I think I fit this category because I really value organization, routine, and structure. Conventional people are typically interested in accounting, investing, and information systems. According to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), I am an ISTJ personality this means that I am an Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging person. ISTJ are very faithful, loyal and dependable. We are also reserved people who are interested in a secure and quiet life. ISTJ’s place importance in being honesty and can be trusted to do the right thing for their families and friends. There are some weaknesses to being an ISTJ personality we are stubborn, insensitive, and judgmental. This test is amazing it really nailed my personality.
After answering multiple questions for different situations I was able to obtain information about my personality. ENFJ is a very unique and has various skill sets that will allow me as individual to work in multiple roles. Occupations with good interpersonal skills that allow productive collaboration through any working process. Although this personality can be challenging it still has many benefits to help build careers successfully. There are many high rank positions that this particular personality type would be effective in. Some examples are sales, social services, community care, legal and the list goes on. In all of these roles there are a broad range of occupations that would fit perfectly based on the personality type. However, the ultimate focus is to reach their main dreams. Although they may see their selves as helpers or enablers, this creates the challenge.

Upon completing the short questionnaire, I have been assigned the logistician, or ISTJ, personality type. In the past, I have completed other personality tests when I was trying to decide on a major that most fit me. These other quizzes also resulted in this personality classification.
