Children face enough obstacles while trying to get their education; the last thing they need to worry about is what statement their clothes are or aren’t making. Children are often ridiculed because they aren’t wearing the latest fashions or because they are and the others cannot afford such luxuries. The children are even frightened sometimes because others who are jealous of their luxuries often resort to violence. Children should be afforded the opportunity to get their education without having to worry about keeping their fashion wardrobe up with the other students. School uniforms could break these walls down and place all students on an even playing field. Every student must wear the same thing. If all the students were wearing the
Students are always complaining about the dress codes at their school, and are rejecting the idea of school uniforms. It creates an equal place to all students. But
Student should be free to wear whatever they want. Students have shown how strong and considerate they are of others. Students have learned to not judge a book by its cover. School uniforms never really capture the full creativity of a student. Students need to be thinking of their future kids and if they want their kids to wear uniforms. Many students have complained about school uniforms because they feel like their not themselves. Students love to be free and not told what to wear. The parents have even complained about the school uniforms in many ways. The parents have said school uniforms are way too expensive and don’t want to pay as much. Parents do not feel it is right that their kids can not express themselves because of school uniforms. Parents want to see their kids grow up with creativity and imagination. Therefore school uniforms should be abolished from
An educational institution was not intended to be a platform for students to parade fashion, wealth or privilege. Too often, kids are preoccupied and obsessed about popularity, social standings, and how they can fit in. How children dress themselves often separates the haves from the have-nots. Households that are struggling to make ends meet are not financially able to keep up with fashion trends and can be targeted for bullying. When peers are dressed in uniforms, the social class distinction becomes much less obvious, prejudice and discrimination will lessen; which ultimately create a less hostile environment. As a result, school uniforms will compel students to spend their time expressing themselves through other channels; such as art, music, sports, and academic achievement.
Never once was there a time that I walked down the hallways at school without hearing at least one kid get picked on about their clothes. Everyone knew the popular kids from the weird kids, the rich from the poor, and the nerds from the jocks based on their clothing alone. Our school was divided into social groups because of clothing types. Then we got school uniforms. Once we got them, the school became more peaceful. No one got picked on because of their clothes; that was because we all dressed the same. The amount of bullying went down and the sense of kindness soon began to fill the school. The utilization of school uniforms in public schools creates many benefits for students.
Making school uniforms obligatory takes away students’ rights to express themselves. Which makes it hard to express their fashion presence and personality
School uniforms and dress codes are becoming a popular trend among schools. Most Students and some parents don’t agree with the enforcement with school uniforms, saying that uniforms are taking away self-expression in schools. But, school uniforms are not a negative thing to have. Yes, uniforms and some very strict dress codes limit what the students have to choose to wear to school every day, but it doesn’t limit them from learning which is the main reason they are in school. Some students treat school as a fashion show, so eliminating the size of wardrobe shifts the attention toward their school work. Although requiring students to wear school uniforms may violate their self-expression in some ways, a uniform is supposed to be looked
No parent wants to see their kid not happy or fail a class due to not being able to pay attention because the clothing they are wearing is bothering them. They won’t be able to show their true self which will make them unhappy and they can lose concentration. Our school doesn’t have the money to afford uniforms for all the students. Getting uniforms do not solve any problems and doesn’t do any good. Uniforms will just make students unhappy and honestly just be pointless. It will not stop people from fight over stupid stuff or stop them from spreading rumors to cause drama. Uniforms do not solve any of the bigger issues. The school would have to raise a lot money somehow if they wanted uniforms because there are a lot students in our school and we just don’t have the money for that. School uniforms would make all kids feel the same by wearing the same clothes as everyone else and not being able to express themselves. This is why I think students at Preston High should not have to wear school
Uniforms have been around for centuries, from back in the day when women had to wear dresses or skirts and men had to wear pants. To now where students and employees have to wear certain pieces of clothing. People dress to express themselves, schools tell their students to be who they are and to be proud; however, when the student tries to do so they are sent home or held in the office which not only takes away their rights to express themselves, but takes them out of class. According to Friedrichs, “A shocking number of students are actually sent home or suspended for breaking dress code, which means even more time out of class.” A school's job is to prepare children for their futures, that can be quite hard when the student is not there to learn. Dress codes can be overwhelming to maintain. A student's wardrobe isn’t going to be full of polos and khakis because they most likely do not wear polos and khakis outside of school. Dress code should not be as strict, hoodies should be allowed, tank tops should be
If there was a person who were to care so much about their clothes should just drop out of school and start becoming a model or get a job in a fashion store because students go to school for learning and getting an education, not for showing off their clothes and keeping up with the fashion trends. As there are many problems in schools that students tend to wear outfits that show too much skin, which can be really distracting to other students from learning. School is not an area for students to show off each others fashion, nor wealth nor privileges.Today, there are too many students that get distracted by the popularity and think about what they can do to fit in. The way students dress themselves can easily be seen by others from what they need and what they don’t. Therefore, school uniforms can help students to spend their time expressing themselves through other ways such their academics, sports, achievements and
Doesn’t it get boring looking around at the same clothes on everybody. Certain clothing helps put people into friend groups. Why would you want to go to school when you can’t choose what you want to dress and there is no comfort to the clothes you are forced to wear. What about all of the parents that can not afford to pay for the pricey uniforms, sometimes for more than one child. There are many reason that a child should not be forced to wear uniforms, and it's not always just for the kids sometimes parents can’t afford to pay the extra fees.
Uniforms in schools are a big debate around the world. Should we have uniforms in schools? The answer is yes because uniform help the schools. They bring to table a great deal of help because students are getting bullied, killed, and some may not have as much as other when shopping for clothes. Having uniforms bring safety to schools and what goes on after school.
Nevertheless, for this problem to be solved or reduced, implementing school uniforms is the best solution as it creates a less fashion-conscious environment. When everyone is wearing the same kind of school uniform, students and parents do not have to worry about all the latest trends in clothes, shoes, etc. When everyone in the school dresses the same and the school uniform codes does not allow for these thing, students do not need to pressurize themselves or their parents over buying these things to display their wealth and status.
Waking up for another dreadful day of school. Quickly get ready in the new trend, without worrying about the Cedarwood uniform. Without the uniform, students would feel freer. Uniforms can also make more problems for students to deal with, they also don’t improve/help students.
School Uniforms are being pushed more and more in schools, but what is commonly thought of when the words “school uniform” is said? For most people the picture of children in the same colored uniforms gathered in front of a Catholic Church or a private school is displayed in their mind. This picture is one of the many problems with school uniforms. Instead of being seen as an individual, students are seen as just another kid in a uniform attending a fancy private school. The students cannot develop the self-expression that is crucial to their development at this age. Uniforms are thought to create a more protected campus and learning environment, however, if someone wants to bully someone else, clothes are not going to stop them. The cost, which is usually seen as a pro, can actually be more than people anticipate. As one can see, in the best interest of any student, school uniforms should not be made part of the dress code.
A group of small boys and girls all wearing the same colored school uniforms assembled in front of a catholic school is what I imagine when thinking about school uniforms. This is probably what most people imagine. They have been attached to students of European and private schools. Such pictures of students dressing in school uniforms have led to stereotyping and a negative attitude towards schools enforcing a uniform policy. Displayed as robots without the ability to express them selves in a society that says you must express yourself and be an individual at all cost. The problem is that the cost to express yourself and be an individual is high in some cases, in Detroit, a 15-year-old boy was killed for his $86
