The modern business management world has changed dramatically since, the book published 2008, “The Five Most Important Questions…” by Drucker. To do the business or run an organization, first ask the question “why we are doing business?” Best assessment is always depends upon asking the right question, not providing the right answers. In these managerial decisions, the important and difficult job is never to find right answer, it 's to find the right question to the organization (Drucker, 2012).

Management plays a vital role for small companies, large corporations, and any other business type. They help assist in making sure that a task is completed in the correct manner that benefits the company in many matters to include legal. Most who think about management today, assume they have a lot of responsibility, to include the ability to lead with great leadership skills acquired through schooling and knowledge. Fortunately for these leaders, these management skillsets were not just acquired overnight, they were developed and tested over a long period of time through trial and error before being taught at an accredited institution or published for others to utilize. Therefore, there have been many theories and milestones that have developed through time, which have assisted in shaping management into how it functions today.

A recent meeting of managers unveiled a concerning issue to corporate management. Many of the teams created during a recent merger have failed to perform to the expectations of the company’s leadership. During this meeting a discussion occurred as to why some managers were successful and others were not. The root of the issues revealed that amongst the successful teams was found a positive attitude and willingness to work together not seen on the teams that were struggling. The heart of the positivity and team cohesion was the manager who fostered an environment of openness and self- management, yet kept the team focused on company’s strategy at all times.

To analyze The Goal, Part 1, I have chosen the second option to apply system thinking to address challenges and opportunities managers. This novel flow of information talks about a Bearington manufacturing plant that appears to be very much unorganized. Mr. Rogo, the new plant manager, is now faced with the task of turning this plant around by showing improvements in three months; otherwise the plant will be shut down as was advised by Mr. Peach. It’s apparent here that system thinking was not included in the overall planning of this plant. In addition, there were lack of effective communication amongst employees and managers. According to, Bove-Nielson, A., Chavda, H., Williams. T., & Marinov, R. (2010). “Don 't underestimate the significance of good internal communication when the media storm sets in. It is decisive in building trust during a crisis or two (or three).”
