Visualization: I. High expectations that are placed upon us are hard to live up to and can be very stressful. I am going to suggest several things that can help you manage your stress.
II. RELEASE is the acronym I have come up with to help me remember. It covers all seven ways to help with stress.
a. Recognize is what the R stands for. First we have to recognize the problem and acknowledge it is there. Find out what caused your stress by starting to take notes. How did it make you feel physically and emotionally? How did you respond? After the situation what did you do to make yourself feel better?
b. Exercise is what the E stands for. Everyday you should try and set aside some time for exercise. A good way to release the excess energy is

The A stands for Attitude. A positive attitude can go a long way in life. You should be able to laugh at yourself and have a good sense of humor. Kelly Clarkson said it best when she said, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” You should look at the bad situations in your life differently by asking yourself how you can grow from this and what you can take away from it that is positive.
f. Sleep is what the S stands for. Your body and mind are fueled by an adequate amount of sleep. Your stress will only increase if you are feeling tired because it may cause you to think irrationally.
g. Lastly Enjoy life is what E stands for. You only have one life to live so do not waste it. Take a time out during the day just to contemplate on what all you are blessed with and how great your life really is.
Transition: So, now that you know about some different reasons for stress and how to help deal with your stress, it is time to start making a positive change in your life.

Action: After hearing my speech, I urge you to find ways to deal with your stress rather than ignoring it. Also remember how I told you about the glass of water in the beginning? Learn to put it down and live happily because after all, you deserve
A person experiences stress when they perceive that the demands of their work are greater than their ability to cope. Coping means balancing the demands and pressures placed on you (i.e. the job requirements) with your skills and knowledge (i.e. your capabilities). For example, if you give a member of your team a tight deadline on a project they feel they have neither the skills nor ability to do well, they may begin to feel undue pressure which could result in work related stress.

I agree with Kelly McGonigal, not because whatever she said, is true about stress, but I feel that situation in my life. As she said that stress can be the healthier and gives you joy and meaning of a life. Our book describes stress as “any circumstances that threaten or are perceived to threaten one’s well-being and tax one’s coping ability” (Weiten, 2014). Stress is not necessarily a traumatic, life destroying event. It can be as simple a small change in one’s daily schedule. People will have multiple stresses throughout their lifetime. Some will be little and daily, but overtime these add up and can affect you in many ways. Stress can be positive or negative and can take many forms; a few being frustration, internal conflict, change, and pressure. All of which make almost a daily appearance in my life (Weiten, 2014).
Stress is a very common everyday thing. People have stress so much that most of the time they don’t even know how much it’s affecting them. Stress can really affect your body, mind, and behavior. It is a normal response to situations that make you feel upset or threatened in a way. Stress is the body’s way of change. The change can either be good or bad.

As Mahatma Gandhi said, "Man often becomes what he believes himself to be." Throughout life stress is a common problem whether it’s at work, school or home. The many negative effects of stress in fact affect individuals differently varying from health issues to work performance. Stress is something that affects many people each and every day. Life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For some people stress is so common it is a way of life. Stress can be very harmful and or helpful. It could help motivate you to meet a deadline and perform a task under pressure. Stress can also be very harmful, such as memory problems, moodiness, aches and pains, and eating more or less.
Obviously, whether we want or not, stresses are happening everyday in our life. They can come from the external impact like an exam is coming, to the internal impact as pressure from yourself to achieve an A score; or from a small problem with low intensity like a traffic jam on the street, to a big issue with high intensity like being in a huge terrorism. It seems that we cannot run away from stress, it is something irresistible that we have to accept. Because stress is unavoidable, we need to learn how to deal with them efficiently. Some kinds of stresses can bring to us positive effects that motivate us to handle things better, but majority of them give us bad feelings and negative effects to our general health. As my personal hardly to find the balance between study, work, and family, I am right now struggling of dealing with stresses, that are caused by the pressure from assignments and exams in studying, workloads of my job and the responsibility to take care my family. Reading the article “ How Stress Affects Your Health” on the American Psychological Association website, I can get more valuable understandings about stress, have connected to some knowledges that I learnt in my Psychology class until now and draw some beneficial learnings to apply in my practical life.
Sometimes it can seem as if there 's nothing you can do about your stress level. When you are operating from your logical brain, the brain says things like... "The bills aren 't going to stop coming, there will never be more hours in the day for all of the errands I need to run, and my career and family responsibilities must be done or calamity will strike".
There are many ways to reduce or handle stress in your life. The easiest and one of the healthiest antidotes for stress is laughter. Just smiling helps because it releases blood flow to the brain and endorphins are released. (4.) This gives a sense of well being. Some other simple techniques are doing uninterrupted breathing. Another stressor is lack of sleep. Therefore break the stress-sleeplessness cycle. You can help relieve your sleep problem by developing a daily sleep routine and don’t drink alcohol or caffeine before bed. Another thing is to reserve your bedroom for sleeping and sex only. (4.) Writing down your feeling in a diary may help relieve emotional stress. (4.)
