The team leader role is an impartial role that supports all employees on the audit team. The team leader plays an important role in guiding the team members and motivating them to stay focused.
The team leader should be an all rounder and made up of various different attributes. A team leader should be approachable and employees should be able to approach and discuss all relevant issues with their team leader and not feel put off by seeking help and information.

Laissez-Faire:
This was my final approach with the team, although I would say I couldn’t fully take the Laissez-Faire approach within the audit team as this would not have been the best approach as it would lead to lower figures, reduce SLA’s management and KPI’s would be severely reduced but I certainly tried to use this method as much as possible.
As the team is a professional technical team, I felt the best way use the Laissez-Faire approach would be to introduce technical discussions with the team and let them decide on what was the best way to approach certain technical decisions of the audit process. This enabled the team to be more creative and show many different sides to their technical capabilities. This also motivated the team and the team started working better together as each liked the new ideas each other were

The leader should communicate and organise well in order to help his players understand. The equipment should be organised properly during every training session which helps players improve. Furthermore, the outcome of the meeting should be summarized and disseminated to the members of the team for their action.
