A global manager is associated with success as an international executive. Dimensions included in this are: general intelligence, business knowledge, interpersonal skills, commitment, courage, cross-cultural competencies, and the ability to learn from experience. My potential for success as a global manager would be on the cusp of being relatively high. In today’s global economy, being a manager often means being a global manager. But, unfortunately, not all managers are able to transfer their skills smoothly from domestic environments to global ones. I believe that I have the ability to accomplish this on a consistent basis.
After taking the FOCUS 2 quizzes and completing the worksheet, I learned about a few of my career options. I have already chosen a degree plan, and know what direction I want to go in, but I am not sure of the specifics. The FOCUS 2 Career Exploration Worksheet helped me to discover some of those specifics.
In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). Benner (1982) formed the stages of competency: Novice; this is where I started in year one, I had never done a manual blood pressure before and lacked confidence. Advanced beginner; this is where I feel I am at present, I can take a manual blood pressure with occasional supportive cues, I am more confident than the first time and my knowledge is improving. Competent; this is the stage I expect to be at when I qualify, I would like to feel confident and I intend to know exactly what I am doing and why. Proficient; this is where I expect to be
Career assessments provide the counselor will information to help guide the client in deciding on what career that they would enjoy. This information would give the client an idea what line of work that they would enjoy being in. The client would find the job as a rewarding step, and what they would be interested in doing. It would be important to put assessments that are multicultural. When reviewing this assessment, this assessment did examine the gender components in Strong Interest Profile (Grutter & and Hammer, 2012). It would be important that the counselor would give assessments that are suitable for any culture. When deciding if an assessment is multicultural, the counselor would need to make sure that an assessment would not show any bias or show any cultural prejudice (Osborn, 2012). If the assessment does not mention if the assessment is multicultural, it would be important to

Often times, people are just aware of careers that are viewed as more popular or talked about such as therapist or doctors. I believe this causes us to limit ourselves to the kinds of professions we choose to pursue. This assessment provides insight into potential careers that an individual may really enjoy and want to seek in the future but may not be aware of their existence. Although I may not have changed my career path from taking this assessment, it was very useful to know that these kinds of careers are available. With this information, I plan and hope to educate people especially young children about other careers that are available that people do not often tell them about. I think it is important that people re cognizant of this information to divserse

I have performed similar quizzes in the past and each have had similar results to the Holland Career Assessment. On August 31, 2016 Assistant Dean Melissa Furman administered the Career Assessment Exercise in my Intro to Business class. Career assessments are very beneficial when an individual is trying to determine what career path they may be wanting to take. Sometimes new information will become apparent and other times information that is already known to that individual will just be simply solidified. It is important to answer the questions as accurately to oneself as possible. My personal results only reassured me of what I already knew.
Finding a specific career path can not only be difficult, but it can also induce bouts of anxiety, anger, and sadness over a crucial part of an individual’s life. Settling on a career can be unnerving when thinking about the fact that this is the career that you spend thousands of dollars on in college, that this is the career you will work in until you retire. With this course, I’ve found that it has been easier to narrow down a goal towards finding a career. Through career assessments, different assignments and discussions, I have realized what my barriers and strengths are. Overcoming these and improving these skills or applying them to an actual career assisted me in narrowing my goal as well. I am now able to clearly see the advantages and disadvantages of my career goal and to think clearer about the next steps that I will take after this course.
