A stable career is what one always strives for but actually selecting one is quite the obstacle. When I was younger my mind was flowing with ideas and different possibilities. As time went on, I realized that with my certain talents and abilities I would most likely excel in the field of law and more specifically as a criminal defense attorney. Naturally I 'm an argumentative person who enjoys standing up for myself and others; the fact that the pay is exceptional only

Criminal justice has appealed to me since I can remember, especially the forensics field. I was always interested in science, detail-oriented, compassionate, and a superb problem solver. Also, I always understood that death was something that naturally occurred and it never bothered me much.

I attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice not only to further my education, but also to take care of my family. My mother passed away when I was only six years old; however, I have a brother, two sisters, a grandmother who knows what struggle is, and a father who cannot find the words to define his love for my mother. At no point she was hesitant about being a mother to her four young grandkids. I always knew she was an important part of my childhood, but I had never truly understood how she influenced me until a much older age.
I have been interested in a career in law enforcement, such as a police officer, for a long time. I included this career on my list, but as I identified myself, it became clear it wasn’t the most fitting option. This career fit very well with all my extrinsic and intrinsic values, but not as well with my lifestyle values. The location and hours could be challenging. My skills were not fitting either, i’m not very social and a police officer must communicate well.
You simply can’t call the police on such matters as this. The police deal with people and their sins. Ronnie Levinson and his friends were not people. They may have been at one time but they were not anymore. These matters would only result in the deaths of countless officers. I had begun to explain all this to the young father but all he did was continue to stare at me muted. I went on explaining to him that what we were dealing with here was pure evil, members of Satan’s army. And we, as loyal soldiers of the army of God had a duty to defend our house of the Lord and its members in our community.
My interest in law is inseparable from my avid interest in sports. I am a sports enthusiast and a devout follower of all things baseball, basketball, football, and even soccer. The day I realized that my passion for sports could be coupled with a career in law is the day I came to know that I would set myself on a focused career path to attain my goal of becoming a sports attorney. Additionally, I have an interest in music law as well. My father has been in the music industry for forty years, and being around the industry for my entire life has definitely peaked my interest. The music industry is constantly changing, and it has been interesting to watch my father take on its evolving legal issues.
The career that I chose to focus on was legal area as far as becoming an attorney that practices family and criminal court. I chose this area of study because I have become interested in legal issues over the past few years that lead me to the decision to practice law. Upon deciding what I wanted to do with my career, I then decided that I want to first start out as a lawyer and then progress to becoming a judge where I plan on retiring from. I decided I would rather practice criminal law and family law as a prosecutor rather than becoming a defense attorney. I don’t feel that my arguments are strong enough to be a defense attorney and do plan on working on those skills for improvement. However I am a firm believe that justice served is the main reason individuals lean to the legal system for help.
Figuring out what job would be a good fit for my interests and personal goals has not been an easy task. I am pretty confident in what I plan on doing in my future. I feel pretty confident that my chosen career path is the one for me. To help show why its a good career path for me, I spent a lot of time researching my , personality, aptitude, and my career.

Working as a lawyer in society makes you a professional and an officer of the court, charged with the duty of working within the frame work of the law, which is based upon federal and state constitutions, written legislations and judicial decisions issued by competent courts.

A family lawyer will deal with things such as prenuptial agreements, custody disputes, and the drama of divorce (“Family Lawyer: Career Information”). I chose this career because I have always found being a lawyer something I would love, and there will always be a demand. I have always been told I have the quality of being guile, which is an advantage to me. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
