It was a rather hot and sunny Summer day in California. Friends Lauren, Chase, Melissa, and Brad decided to head to the beach for the day before they started college in the following week. Lauren was driving while Chase held the map and navigated her. Normally Lauren would just use her phone for directions but, the group decided to leave their phones at home. They all agreed that they could spend one day together without their phones and without any distractions. “Turn left up here,” said Brad. “Okay,” said Lauren. “I really hate driving on these dirt roads.” As soon as Lauren finished her sentence, the car made a sputtering noise and suddenly stopped running. Lauren turned the key a few times to try and get the car to start back up but she had no luck. She gave up after a few tries. No one knew what to do know. No one had their phone so they couldn’t call anybody for help. “I remember seeing a gas station a little while back. Melissa and I can walk there and see if we can get helps there,” said Brad. “That sounds like a great idea,” stated Lauren. “Just please be careful and don’t get lost. Chase and I can stay and see if we can figure out what’s wrong with the car.” After walking for about 20 minutes Melissa looks over at Brad and said, “Are we close? It seems like we’ve been walking forever!” Brad looked over at Melissa and said, “Calm down. We haven’t even been walking that long. I think we should be getting close though.” After another 25 minutes of walking and
Put the gun down! Put the gun down! Pow Pow Pow. The gun shots cracked into the air as loud as thunder. One after another. We live day by day not knowing our end. In the blink of an eye our lives can be changed forever. Its life, yet even in knowing this we never expect tragedy to find us. We never expect it to affect our lives and the people we know and love. I’m going to share with you the day tragedy found my life.
“Wait here for about 10 seconds I have to ask Ashley a question.” I told Jessica and Josie.
“Oh I see where we took a wrong turn,” Kelley sighed with relief, “We have to take a right and then go straight all the way to that bridge.” They began walking, all relieved that they found a way out of the sticky situation that they were in. “I see our mom,” Will announced as they walked up towards their mom. Finally they reached Kelley and Will’s mom, “Why do you all look so nervous and sweaty?” Their mom questioned. All four of them laughed, “Just a bit nervous from the rides,” Makayla stuttered with an uneasy look on her face. Kelley and Will’s mom just looked at them and replied with, “Alright well it’s about 3 o’clock now, we have about four to five hours left before we need to leave so when it is 6:30 come and meet me back here and then we can leave.” Kelley nodded in agreement and laughed, “Yes ma'am.” Several hours passed by and it was now time for these four crazy teens to get going, “I’m so glad we found that map,” Kristin stated as her and Will walked out the exit gate. “Me too, I don’t know what we would of done without that map,” he whispered
Greg looked at his watch it really was three hours later. "Come on I have found the way
“Woah! We got a trailblazer on our hands!” the girls holding the red timer exclaims. I return to where the rest of the girls are and see Elle running towards me. I’m breathing heavy, but I feel good.
“We’re going to get there.” Lexie assured the teen before attempting to figure out what was going on. Traffic seemed to be blocked from both directions. “Most likely. Whatever happened wasn’t good.”
“Melissa and I were friends in high school and went to college together,” he spoke boldly.
The two walked together in silence on the way back to Liz’s house. Both not sure exactly what to say. When they finally reached Liz’s house Liz said. “ I hope this won’t be the last of
“Okay, I know you guys are very tired from the walk, but guess what! We made it to the site!” Sarah stopped us and said.
“yeah, yeah,’ smiled Abby. Abby was on her way. She was running a little late but it was okay Caleb would not care. Abby hopped into her black Mustang and headed for Caleb’s house. It was very stormy and hard to see much of the road. Abby drove very carefully. Caleb didn’t live more than fifteen miles away but to get to his house Abby still had to drive on the highway. After about fifteen minutes Marcus headed out in his mom’s car since Abby took the Mustang. The storm was getting worse now he then got a text. It was from Caleb and it said, “Are you guys coming?’ that scared Marcus. Abby should have almost been there. Marcus kept driving and was hoping Abby would make it. He looked down as he got another message but couldn’t open it until he passed the canyon. He drove past the canyon then looked at the text and it was from Caleb again. The text read, “Are you guys okay?’. This time Marcus replied, “Yes, Abby should be there any minute I will be there a little later.” It probably wasn’t the smartest idea for Marcus to be texting but he couldn’t help it he was way worried. Marcus was now driving really fast trying to get to Caleb’s. He would be able to see Abby along the road if she needed help or something. He drove and drove and couldn’t find her. Finally, he got to Caleb’s house. Abby still was not there. Marcus was freaking out. Caleb called him down. Then Marcus’ phone started ringing. “Hello” said Marcus. Caleb could hear Mrs.
“We didn’t do anything other than kiss. And we didn’t even do that for very long. After a while, his eyes lost the glazey numb look from the wine or the coffee or the fact that he had stayed up the night before. Then, he started crying. Then, he started talking about Brad.”
We walked back inside the house we walked between everyone as they slowed turn their heads to Sarah and me. She stayed in my arms while I said, “I’m going to the
Sydney had been sitting on the porch for twenty minutes when Steven pulled up. Steven walked up on the porch looking confused. “Is everything alright?”
MELISSA: Before we do that, there is just something that I wanted to say to you
“Okay, let’s go Brad,” laughed Kyle, and they ran to there class. There class boarded the bus and they took off.
