Statement of Purpose SriVallabha Vaidya
Technology in every form has always been something that I have craved for. As a student in high school I was always fond of computers, televisions, cell-phones. The circuitry involved to build them has fascinated me by the mechanism that was involved in creating the wondrous electronic gadgets. I want to be at the forefront of technology and I want to work at something exciting that would help others. The growing desire to excel in the field of Electrical and Electronics engineering, fuelled with my inquisitive nature and my logical approach, helped me to build a strong foundation in engineering. I now anticipate myself, contributing significantly and leaving a mark in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
At the young age, I learnt Vedic mathematics from my mother, a high school teacher who taught me the importance of logic and rationality in my earlier life. During my high school, the science teacher Mr.

My good grades in pre-university opened the doors to one of the most prestigious colleges in the country and one of the most sought after branches, Electrical and Electronics Engineering as my graduate stream seamlessly fit in. Every subject in this discipline intrigued me in its own way. My passion for science and technology grew with time as I learnt about the various facets of my field of specialization. In college, I always enjoyed long hours in the laboratories. It gave me the opportunity to correlate theory to practical phenomena. This in turn gave me a better understanding, insight of the subject and newer line of thinking. Very soon, I began to appreciate the advancements in the technology and took a keen interest in Robotics and Internet of Things. The course in Electrical and Electronics covered a wide panorama of
Over the years, I have grown particularly fascinated with the abstract side of electronics, including the creation of programming languages and applications, especially for mobile devices, and the creation of artificial intelligence. I see the potential for computer programs and artificial intelligence to help humanity solve many of its most complex problems in entertainment, communication, and everyday life, and I believe a degree in Computer Science would help me become a part of this
Staring at engine components of a car as well as holding a smartphone with almost unbelievable thickness fascinated me in many ways indirectly leaded me into getting to know more through different sources about machines ranging from transportation to communication devices. Two years of A-level preparation, further solidified my interest in this area as I found myself very fond of learning mathematics, physics and mechanics in particular. In addition, my curiosity in the operation and dynamics of objects naturally influences my choice of degree, leading me towards Engineering as it is a discipline which satisfy my own interest and most probably bring out the best of me.
As I entered high school, I began to immerse myself in the world of technology and engineering.
At an early age, I gravitated towards electronics as a means of distraction. However, my distraction transformed into curiosity when I understood that technology had the potential to solve many real-world problems. My interest in engineering grew with the help of my father who devoted his life as a mechanic for twenty years. As an expert in his field, he taught me about the components of a car and the operations of major automotive systems. His periodic lectures on automobiles instilled in me a sense of admiration in the engineering field and have played a profound role in my career
I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to write my desired future based Master Program in Software Engineering. I feel that a higher education for Masters enable me to approach to the most recent technologies and to practice myself in a competitive environment and learn more skills in the field of Software Engineering.

Through the process of meeting and working with my mentor I have learned a great deal about the world of electrical engineering. My father, who works in the field of electrical engineering first sparked my interest in the subject. He also made me interested in my project of building a Tesla Coil by recalling stories of rebuilding breakers and testing 400,000 volt transformers. I then watched videos of people building complex electric devices in their garage. I then met my mentor and spoke to him and my father to learn about the world of an electrical engineer.
The process of becoming an engineer will have gigantic hurdles of stress and confusion. I plan to take advantage of student aid and academic scholarships to maximize my financial assets towards college. My underlying skills gained from my hobbies can push me through the difficulties of the college work load. My previous education gave me a prerequisite basis of what to expect during the next level of education. With a great amount of confidence, the journey towards my dream career of scientifically fixing the world will work out
Personal Statement: Twenty years of education have brought me a deep appreciation for the study of the Power systems, Controls systems and Telecommunication. When the time came to specialize, my decision to major in Electrical Power Engineering was motivated by the hope of achieving a strong opportunity of creativity, research, and development. Electrical Engineering, with its myriad sub-domains and multi-faceted nature is a natural amalgamation that allows me to express my creativity and innovative power to bring about works that offer benefits to society. The tools and aims may be different, but designing and developing software/hardware or devising a novel mathematical proof is relatable to the work of artists in their shared spirit of creating. I view my decision to study Electrical Engineering as a natural means of fulfilling my need to create since it equips me with tools for the job: the ability to devise, test and evaluate Power systems and the programming knowledge required to implement them.
During the course of this year, I was exposed to technology and its mechanisms. This allowed me to ponder on the possible technological career paths I could venture on. Prior to
My true passion for engineering began when I came across the quote: "Technology are devices that make our lives better". Despite my first love of mathematics, my recent interest for engineering has come from two major influences. The first being my mathematics and physics teachers, both engineers by nature, who have helped me enhance the fundamental skills essential for engineering and embrace the importance of the field. The second being the learning about uses of technology in Computer Science, it taught me the magnitude of which technology contributes to our everyday lives has led me to intensify my desire to improve the lives of others.
Exploration and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying predicaments. In this ever changing world of engineering & technology where each new day sees a spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, I always wanted to attain the highest level of excellence in education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field.
I plan to pursue M.Eng degree in Environmental Engineering with main focus on Water Resource Management. I was born 24 years ago in a remote village in the remotest countries of the world, Nepal. The village was deprived of all the basic necessities like road, drinking water, electricity, etc. Now, 24 years later, everything has improved but the availability of water and environment. My village got these facilities at the expense of once pristine environment. It still takes us half an hour to fetch a bucket of water and people still depend on mansoon water for irrigation. It’s not a problem of my village alone; most of the villages in the hilly region suffer the same fate because they don’t access to tap water, forget treated water. Despite being a country with second highest hydro potential, we are still living under the darkness for 14 hours a
A five-foot five-inch replica of the Empire State Building that I stacked entirely with playing cards back in high school was the first time I appreciated the subtleties involved in creating complex card structures. I gradually progressed to stacking domes and a full-sized stadium, but the way this tower held together fascinated me, and I realized that there was much more going on in addition to the seemingly obvious concept of maintaining the right balance. After all, nothing could be that simple. Likewise, after four years of undergraduate studies in civil engineering, it seems to me I have barely scratched its surface. A graduate school will allow me to delve deep and let me explore the finer aspects of the field. Furthermore, this is crucial in terms of achieving my long-term goal of pursuing a PhD to carve out a career in industrial research.
Although my academic parameters and merit-based Prime Minster scholarship indicate strong academic performance, what defines me is my constant yearning to learn by going beyond the required curriculum through active participation in various technical events and seminar. During my sophomore year, I was introduced to the field of VLSI design while working in IEEE Electronics and Robotics Special Interest Group through a seminar on the topic “The Death of Moore’s Law will spur innovation”, predicting the rise in performance of FPGAs
