Imagine you’re walking down the hall, and you see a group of kids staring and laughing out you, because you're dressed differently. One in ten girls are bullied because of how they dress, school uniforms would take that problem away completely. School uniforms are beneficial for many reasons. For instance school uniforms help prevent bullying, many students can’t financially afford the cost of trendy clothes, and having uniforms is less distracting for students. . Uniforms will reduce bullying throughout schools. Even though some will argue that school uniforms don't allow students to show expression that is very untrue. Wearing a school uniform neither defines a child’s personality nor erases it. A person's personality should be judged on how they act, not what they wear. Often, the cause of cyber bullying comes from people being different or not wearing the “right” clothes. If someone looks “trendier” it makes them feel more powerful, resulting in bullying. Uniforms allow kids to learn on a more level playing field, with less judgment about clothing choices, brands of clothing, or how much each garment was. The University of Nevada, Reno conducted a study on school uniforms.They said “ various benefits to wearing uniforms were reported, including decreases in discipline, gang involvement and bullying; and increases in safety, ease of going to school, confidence and self-esteem.” As you can see school uniforms provides much more than a semi stop to bullying. “I haven't been bullied since our school started making us wear uniforms, and I’ve been much happier” - Anonymous student. Uniforms improve learning conditions. Some might say that it is a student's choice to be distracted, however school uniforms would help minimize distraction. By spending less time worrying about fashion trends, students focus on what school is really for, getting an education. Uniforms provide an equalness between students, and less distractions, enhancing learning. Most kids are always feeling pressured into the latest clothing trends, this is taking their minds of learning, and sometimes this results in lower grades.
