The teaching assistant will promote the independent learning alongside the teacher by : creating a suitable learning environment, the relationship between teacher and learner is established, the teaching and modelling of skills for independent learning is given. Creating a suitable learning environment will help promote independent learning because this is cultivated by a school environment that is sensitive, flexible, democratic and responsive to the needs of students.
With this students gain a strong sense of purpose and motivation to improve on their learning skills and discover new talents which can help them in future. The relationship between teaching assistants and learner is important to promote independent learning because teaching
To provide students with a variety of activities that will enhance life-long learning and participation
To provide a nurturing environment for the development of lifelong learners and collaborative and individual achievement.
Students can learn that the hard work they do can and will be payed back. This will encourage students to do better and try harder to receive the reward they were working for. They will want to do work because they see that doing work can bring you a positive result besides learning.
It also shows them how to be lifelong learners which enables them to build on their strengths. I will do this by teaching what is relevant and needful for my students. I will teach them to build on their strengths and their talents. In learning about their strengths, they will also learn how to communicate with me and others. These lessons will enable a student to lead a life they will be proud to have and build on.
The key to advancing the learning of individuals, small groups and whole classes is motivation. Our
The purpose of the FBE is for me to become aware of the variety of strategies that can be used to motivate students to engage in learning activities. I have observed the types of motivational strategies used by the classroom teacher and the effect of the strategy on student behavior. The different motivational strategies described in the article Classroom motivation: Strategies for first-year teachers by Timothy Newby are, attention-focusing, relevance, and confidence building. Attention-focusing strategies are those that not only focus attention, but also sustain it by responding to the sensation-seeking needs of students. Relevance strategies emphasize answering questions that make the task seem relevant to the students’ lives. Confidence-building strategies focus on helping the students view the task as challenging but accomplishable. All three strategies mostly concentrate on a specific task indicating intrinsic motivational orientation.
For students in an educational environment, they are more likely to succeed and do better if they have an intrinsic motivational approach to their studies. One thing that can be changed or encouraged
In psychology, humanism is the study of the whole person (thoughts, feelings, behaviour and needs) and focuses on the innate potential of humans. Humanists believed that humans are unique, self-direct and able to make decisions and set goals based on their awareness of their internal thoughts and feelings of themselves and the world (McInerney, 2006, pp. 258-259). These thoughts and feelings comprise of three main drivers. The individual’s identity of who they are and where they are going, their connectedness and how they interact with others and the power to take control of one’s life and know one’s limits (McInerney, 2006, p. 259).
There are a myriad of reasons why a student may become unmotivated in their studies—but whatever the reason, an unmotivated student becomes an unmotivated member of society, and possibly an unmotivated parent or teacher themselves. It is therefore a societal necessity that teachers, parents, and anyone else involved in the education of the youth in this world are informed about how to best motivate their students to understand and internalize what they are learning, so that they can pass the skills and information on to the next generation. Possible methods that could be utilized to enhance motivation are: encouraging internal motivation and decreasing dependence on external rewards, creating mastery-oriented as opposed to performance-oriented classrooms, and focusing on attribution as opposed to persuasion as a means
Forming a better future for students, providing them with a capacity to further their learning ability effortlessly.
Helping others to achieve the goals make me satisfied to learn from others and what other can learn from me. Often times we do not see the effort that teaches put in the students to see them reach their goals. Teachers have a big responsibility; to educate the children that will forge the future.
Creates a greater sense of autonomy, mastery and purpose (all key factors in long-term learning)

In a school where you have full curricular freedom, what classes would you take? Both open curriculum, the ability to choose what classes you intend on taking this year, and independent learning are great opportunities for students looking for a different approach. According to Bright Knowledge, independent learning is when an individual is able to think, act and pursue their own studies autonomously, without the same levels of support you receive from a teacher at school. Some may argue students should follow a set curriculum and require what classes need to be taken before graduation. High school students should be given the same freedoms a college student has, allowing them to choose their own classes, when to participate in those classes, and using self-directed learning, earning benefits now, and later assisting them in life.
For example, motivated learners often make a determined effort to really understand classroom material—to learn it for themselves meaningfully so that they are able to use it in their own lives.
