As I reflect on my movement as a student teacher through my program of study in the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching, and provide evidence of my growth as a professional in five of the Macquarie University Graduate Capabilities, it is important to mention that I have only completed studies in the subjects of ECH113, Play and Inquiry in Early Childhood and ECHP 222, Reflective Practice in Early Childhood settings 2 and am currently completing ECH 315, Early Childhood Management and Leaderships: The Socio-Political context of Teaching and this, ECHP 424, Reflective Practice 6. Though my progression in my program of study is at a young stage and I am positive that abundant learning and growth is still to come my way, what I learned
Within the realm of education, the expectation is that educators are growing personally within their own lives and professions in which will assist them in reaching the lives of their student/learners effectively. This growth is receive by professional development in which the educator studies, learns, changes, and becomes more professional overtime..The professional development process, for me, is always ongoing being as though I am very young. The way I will achieve my pathway goals is getting my masters degree in education, go to various trainings, and join an early childhood professional organization.
I have had a lifetime goal to attend college, it just didn’t happen early in life. When I first came to CCU, there was no doubt that getting my bachelors in early childhood would be my major. My passion has always been young children. It started when I babysat as a young teenager and has continued in my life as a preschool teacher. Education is constantly changing: therefore, I feel I need to have more knowledge and wisdom to be the best teacher possible. Education is by far one of the most important tools to have a successful life. With diligence, I want to be a leading educator and to be a gateway for my students to learn. It’s exhilarating how many lives a teacher will touch each day. A teacher has the power to reach out and make learning a positive and memorable experience for every child. Furthermore, teachers are one of the first caregivers for young children. Although I am not at the beginning of my career, while at CCU, I will grow in faith, help and learn from others, and strive to graduate with honors.
Brad Henry claims that “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” Teaching is something that I see as one of the most important jobs that you can have. Along with it being important, it is also rewarding and you’re helping people learn and take in information that will come in handy in the future. With my creative mind and kind-heart, majoring in Early Childhood Education and pursuing a career as a teacher will be enjoyable and is the perfect fit for me.
I always thought I would be a teacher and I would make differences in lives and it would be the greatest experience in the world for me, yet being a teacher wasn’t enough, I had a need to expand my education. I decided that perhaps I needed a new career, however, I felt certain education remained my passion. I began to explore new areas of education and I realized I still want to be a member of a classroom, a school and curriculum. I aspire to guide those leading our classrooms.
Wandering into the present I recall earlier that day volunteering with kids again at a different preschool. Hope fills my emotions when I look into the future at my job teaching two after school clubs starting in the fall. This is a new challenge that I will face, and I am excited to not only help children with math and reading but also to grow further as a person.
With my passion for working with children, I will become an influential and inspiring teacher that creates a lively classroom atmosphere for developing children who have strong moral character and value diversity, faith, and altruism. I will provide learning experiences which go beyond academic achievement to educate children as whole people who strive for excellence and will contribute to improving their
My life learning experience is gain from working in the early childhood sectors of Head Start and working with pre-kindergarteners of the Orleans and Jefferson public-school system. As I reminisce about my decision to work in education, I realized it has been extremely enriching and rewarding. The reward of being an educator is helping families to better their lives through
Ten years from now I see myself with children and a job in a local hospital taking care of children. I see myself with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a certification in Nurse Midwifery. My children may be around five years old and just starting school. I will encourage my children to take school as serious as I have and to do their homework. I eventually want to have at least four children but that choice may change as time goes on. I have no plans other than working and raising a family ten years from now. I plan on starting a retirement account early in life to reduce stress later on in
For a long time I didn’t know what I would like to pursue as a career but when I reflected on my life I realized some of my favorite times in life were when I was teaching someone something and when I was learning. In my future career as a high school teacher I will able to do both of those things. Seeing peoples’ eyes light up with interest because they
I believe that as an early childhood educator my goal will be to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I believe that a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities is essential balance can be developed by using the developmentally appropriate practice approach, which means that activities should be “appropriate for each child and relevant to the child’s ability, needs and interests, also including the child’s family and being respectful to the child’s culture.
Working with children and supporting their learning is my passion. I have always been inspired by the opportunity teaching offers each child to reach their full potential; which understandably plays a crucial part in children achieving lifelong learning.
When I finish my associates in Arts at Greenville Technical College, I plan to transfer to get my Bachelors (B.A.) in Early Childhood Education from University of South Carolina- Columbia. I chose this career because I love children with a passion and every job I’ve had has been with children involved. Being in the presence of children makes me happy. I also chose this career because I know that when I wake up in the morning I will not dread going to work every day, I will gladly get up an strive to make a difference in their lives. I want to be an impact on as many of their lives as I can by being a part of their life and teaching them. I want to be someone they look up to, someone “who inspires and encourages us [them] to strive for greatness, live to our [their] full potential and see the best in [them]” (Teach). To become a teacher takes a lot of hard work and motivation.
I did not previously intend to graduate early but due to circumstances beyond my control, I decided it would be best for me to use the time I would spend in my second semester working and setting aside money for college. I had most of my graduation requirements completed from my previous high school and by the time I enrolled in my current high school many of the classes I had planned to take were already filled.
The opportunities given to me to work with beginning teachers have been rewarding. Building stronger learning communities will always be a passion of mine because it ultimately enables our students to be better served in the classroom which leads to higher student achievement.
