Mostly we employ closed, fixed response interviews whenever we are conducting researches in our work place. Here, all the interviewees are asked the same questions by the researchers and the same alternatives answers are presented to them to choose from. Sometimes, we employ standardized, open ended interviews where they are expected to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The authority make sure that wrong questions are not asked and they make sure the interviewer tries to convince the interviewee that research is important and has a worth while value to the society.

This is an experience that i will never forget. From the start of the assignment paper, I knew I had to face my worst fear of speech, because I am a shy person. It has also been stated that even though these are the preferred methods, if the research is not done correctly, there will not be much value in the data. For example when doing a verbal interview such as I did when going shop to shop and asking my questions. Once the verbal information is obtained, it will need to be placed into a word for and document to be analyzed (Remenyi, 2011). It is also mentioned that it is very important, what questions are asked and how they are asked. The directness of the questions, the exact wording and the order in which they are put. This is all most critical to the way the information is later interpreted and used. It is also important to choose the wording correctly. If the interviewee did not understand the word or words in the question your information will not be correct or usable (Remenyi,

Advice from McCurdy, Spradley, Shandy (2005) for the first interview included being offsite if possible to limit distractions, educating the participant and gaining their consent. As a starting point, the researcher should explain the research and ethnography letting the interviewee know what information we are looking for and why. Inform him or her that a series of questions will be asked or a survey will be given this way they know what to expect, there will be no surprises and may help them to relax.. Researcher must also have consent to interview and permission to record it as well. McCurdy (2005) suggests while interviewing, the researcher needs to ask descriptive questions and keep a keen ear open to pick up on folk terms. Folk terms are used between members of a certain culture and are usually only know to others in that same culture. (McCurdy et al., 2005, pp.34-37)
